My partner and I did a half day cooking class here with translator and guide Lance. This was the perfect activity to end our trip to Chengdu. It was so fun to learn how to make some of our favorite Sichuan dishes. Lance also gave us some fun challenges to do while exploring the market and took great photos of us while we were cooking. It was so fun to learn more about Chengdu food culture!

We had a blast touring the spice market and cooking some really yummy foods. Lance was a great leader and would do another tour with him again if we had the opportunity! -Joey

Had an awesome time with Lance, our local tour guide. Had an exceptional time tasting cooking and making new friends! The day started with us meeting him outside our hostel where he took us to a nearby spice market. He showed us all the different chinese spices and locally grown vegetables and meats. Along the way he organized with the stall owners for us to have a taste of a variety of their produce. We where taught some Chinese by Lance, which we used to ask a lady from the spice market to teach us how to fold dumplings. From there we went to the Chilli Cook head quarters for some local tea. After a rest we where met by a professional chinese cheff who guided us in making 3 stunning chinese dishes. We all ate together and shared stories from our home countries. Everything was included in the price along with refreshments as needed. Great for groups, couples and individuals. Overall had an AWESOME time that elevated our Chengdu experience to a new level!

Really professionally-run company that provides a great way to experience Sichuanese food and cooking. Our guide Hazel was really friendly and informative and learning to cook from the chef was fun. Can't wait to cook the same dishes at home!

It was great! Ocean picked us up at the hotel and went with us to the local market. There was a nice suprise, I won‘t spoil it here. But it was good fun. We where also able to try a lot of things and she explained each thing we saw. The cooking class it self was nice and causy. Our chef was a great teacher and ocean translated everything. We had a gread time. The food was delicius. We also liked that ocean took pictures of us and send them all to us after we finished.

Amazing tour through the market. Got to talk to the locals and meet some amazing people in the cooking-class. Had both delicious meat- and vegetarian options. All of this made into an amazing day thanks to the coolest dude/guide in Chengdu. Love you, Lance.

We had a lovely time at Chilli cool! The tour guide Lance was an amazing guide, his English was really good and he did the tour with so much passion, fun and made us feel really comfortable. The market visit was a really nice start of the class, we could try and smell some local products and get to know more about Chengdu/Sichuan ingredients and the food. The dishes we made were delicious and the class was easy to follow. We had a lovely time and at the end we received a really nice surprise. Our experience at Chilli cool with the amazing guide Lance was wonderful! I would definitely recommend it if you would like to know more about Chengdu/Sichuan/Chinese food or just to have a really good time with the lovely people!

Lance was a great guide through the market. The cooking school itself is beautiful and we were also served tea and given a small gift in the end. As for the food, it was delicious, we made Mapo Tofu, eggplant with spicy sauce and porkbelly with garlic sprouts.. recommended!

Our group of four had a really fantastic time on the market tour and cooking class. Lance picked us up right at the hotel, and was an expert guide through the local market. We learned a lot about local ingredients and tasted a lot of fresh, delicious foods along the way. The class was easy to follow , and Lance taught us what to do to recreate the dishes in our own homes. Everyone is excited to keep making the dishes. The gifts were really appreciated too. He even sent us on a car back. Wow, what a great experience we had at Chilli Cool (Chengdu)! Our excellent tour guide, Lance, took use to the local market and shared all his great knowledge with use, we learnt such a lot. Thereafter we had a cooking class and great food, a real Sichuan cuisine experience, will definitely go back there again!

Highly recommend this cooking class to everyone. We visited a local market and saw so many amazing food and spices! We tried corn cake in the market and it was so delicious. I wouldn't buy this cake if we go there by our own. Lance is a great host. He is knowledgable and explained everything in details. A professional lady chef taught us how to cook three dishes including mapo tofu. I can cook mapo tofu like a pro at home now :)

The organisational part for our cooking class was smooth and effortless. On the day of the class, our instructor/guide (Lance) picked us up at our hostel, perfectly on time. We then proceeded to visit two local markets with lots of spices, vegetables and other local delicacies. Lance gave a lot of useful and interesting information about Chinese spices and cuisine in general and was always ready to answer all of our questions. Furthermore, he had several small and funny challenges prepared that made the market visits even more interesting. After a short walk, we arrived at our cooking place where a professional Chinese chef took over and helped us prepare three different dishes (and some more stuff from the market). Lance was translating for us, as the chef only speaks Chinese, but that was no problem at all and the cooking went smoothly and we learned some signature Chinese techniques. In the end, the food was delicious, we learned a ton and had an overall great time with Lance. I can highly recommend taking a class or street food tour with this company while in Chengdu! Today we did the morning cooking class including a visit to the market. At 9 we were picked up at the hostel and walked to the market where Lance, our friendly guide, told us about different spices and vegetables we had never seen before. After that we went to the restaurant/kitchen where we had a tea and talked with Lance. It was very nice to meet a local who could answer all the questions we had about China. Soon after we started the class and cooked 3 dishes with the help of Lance and the Chef. All three dishes where delicious and not too hard to make. We enjoyed all the amazing food with a beer after cooking. I would highly recommend doing this course while in Chengdu.

Strongly recommend. Perfect half day. Very I interesting tour of spice market. Lance is a fantastic guide. Very fun, friendly and helpful.
