I booked into this cooking class and took part in most of it, however I was unable to eat what we had taken part in cooking because I was feeling unwell. Laila and her daughter took very good care of me and tried their utmost in making me as comfortable as possible which ended up with Lailas daughter driving me back to my Riad which was greatly appreciated ❤️🌟

This was a tremendous experience. Laila was a fantastic teacher. She was warm, charismatic and knowledgeable. This was a great way to learn about the local food and at the same time escape the madness of the Souks. Highly recommend

Its pretty good value for money in terms of the food you make and eat there. HOWEVER, If you are like me and would like to cook the food again, i do not recommend the cooking lesson here. They said we would get the recipes "and additional ones" sent to us, however we have followed up multiple times, and still have not received copies of the recipes, making the point of the cooking lesson point less. Also communication ahead of the lesson, via all the contact methods offered on Viator and google are not effective, you will not get a response.

Warning first- after the cooking class they offered henna, which turns out to be 'black henna' made with chemicals. Please avoid touching this, and conduct your research regarding PPD and the other chemicals involved. Cooking class was great, good information and great attitude and friendliness, we felt accomodatied for and welcomed very nicely. Overall loved the cooking aspects.

Truly amazing experience with Chef Asma. My mum and I enjoyed ourselves cooking Moroccon food and exploring the cuisine of morrocon dishes. The chef was very engaging, funny and made us feel comfortable. I will encourage anyone to take up the cooking class if they are ever in Marrakesh.

This was the most fun thing we did in Marrakech! Leila and her daughter were very friendly and hospitable. Her cooking tips were superb and the food was even better. I would definitely recommend this experience to any foodie interested in Moroccan cuisine.

I love doing cooking classes whenever I am in a new place. I find it's a great way to learn about the local cuisine, to meet the locals, as well as other travellers. I really enjoyed Laila's cooking class and the food we all made at the end was delicious (3 different types of salads, and two types of tajine). I highly recommend this experience. You will not be disappointed! Laila is also so funny, friendly, patient and kind and just the perfect Moroccan chef and mama!

This was a wholesome, fun and informative cooking class! One of my favourite things that we did in Morocco - Chef Leyla is a beautiful soul who will definitely make you laugh. I am vegetarian and she was very accommodating of this. She also sends you videos and recipes on how to cook what you made. Also if you want to buy a Tajine- she sells them for roughly £3!

Leila was very engaging. That was a highlight. Shopping for supplies before food preparation started was an education. Everything was very organised and I picked up some cooking tips.

Laila is really good fun and especially with her daughter. I’ve read some of the bad reviews about the course and I understand their points but completely disagree. The group was at least 75% French speakers and Laila took the time to instruct in both French and English. She split us up into two groups, pure French speakers and an English/multilingual group. The bad reviews saying that the course is mostly in French probably didn’t think about the group or the fact that the hosts speak multiple languages to their, most likely, one. I only speak English and I had a great time, Laila was cracking jokes and just is a very welcoming host. The market visit was advertised and we saw how the guys make the pastry and looked at the classic market arrangement. We picked up the fruit and veg and moved into the meat & fish market area. It’s not something westerners are used to and later she explained how they handle the produce and meat they pick up. She spoke about how chickens are slaughtered to order and that her husband goes and watches the butcher to ensure the chosen chickens are killed correctly (halal etc). She showed us the spice market and told us later that you should always buy whole spices and make things yourself where feasible, instead of buying pre ground and pre made. We pretty much chopped vegetables, made marinades and wrapped pastry. It was great fun and informative. The food was great, best Tagine I’ve had the whole week I’ve been here. Some of the bad reviews state that the dessert was just fruit, which is true. We had fruit mixed with sugar and spices, dressed with spices yoghurt and served with crunchy pieces of pastry. After such a rich and flavourful main, the light dessert was great. I think some of the bad reviewers aren’t aware that fruit is the traditional dessert in Morocco. 10/10 would do again! Can’t wait to try making some Moroccan food at home.

I would highly recommend this half day cooking course with Laila. She is warm, funny and passionate about food! It was a great lesson and the resulting dishes were the best food I have had in Marrakech.

Great experience, so warm and welcoming. Our class was lead by Chef Laila’s daughter, in her home, we met her family, drank mint tea and snacks with our fellow class mates. We then prepped several vegetables with extensive use of herbs & spices, orange water with the carrot salad, mashed spiced potatoe salad, chermoula courgettes and learned how they prepare the jointed chicken, then a chicken and preserved lemon tagine (shown how to prepare the lemons for preserving) We then prepped the pastry, fruit and yoghurt with spices for the pastilla desert. We sat down at the end and ate the most amazingly fresh & tasty 3 course meal, with great company - our classmates. A very enjoyable and sociable meal. We even went on a hunt for orange water & for drinks after with some of our fellow classmates.

A must when visiting Marrakesh. A superb experience. Laila was simply fantastic and the perfect host. A walk through the local market to pick up ingredients and a bit or a tour of the neighbourhood then to the kitchen for some cooking. Laila’s daughter Anna was on hand to help out and she really made the whole event a lot of fun. Pastille, 2 tagines and desert prepared, we had a slap up lunch with more than we could eat. Highly recommended. Thank you too Laila and her family for an unforgettable memory of Marrakesh x

Fabulous experience with like minded foodies! Started with a trip to the market for provisions and then a walk to Laila's home to cook. Clear instruction in both French and English. At the end of the class, you get to enjoy your 3 course lunch! If you enjoy Moroccan food and want to learn new skills - book it, you won't be disappointed.
