Charly is great guide, her English is fluent, we loved all the background information about the city, the buildings and the people she shared with us along the way. The bikes were new and very comfortable, even after 4 hours biking! We will most definitely go back for another tour to discover a different part of the city!

Charlie was a great guide who brought Shanghai to life with historical facts and pictures. Her descriptions were detailed and knowledgeable and she was helpful beyond just the tour in assisting me to get the rental bikes to work! The snack stop was delicious and quite traditional Shanghaise fare.

We had a wonderful experience with Charlie yesterday! While in town on business we wanted to see some of Shanghai and I'm so glad we found Culture Shock Tours. We covered alot of ground and Charlies was a pleasure to spend the morning with, sharing lots of history of Shanghai. Shanghai is a very bike friendly city and we felt completely safe biking on the city roads. The food stop towards the end of our tour was delicious! For those interested we biked approx 12km over 4-5 hours with many stops. Mostly flat riding so easy to do, even if you are not used to riding a bike often. The bikes themselves were very comfortable. I will be recommending to all my friends who visit in Shanghai - an excellent morning! Hope to return and do the bike and brunch tour next time. My wife went on a half day adventure with Q. His grasp on the culture and history was truly amazing. We cover a large swath of Shanghai from the French quarters to Buddhist temples. We were also treated to a classic Shanghai noodle and dumpling dish. I was unsure about the directions to the meeting place but Charlie was very instructive and clear regarding how to get there. She decrease the angst and was very reassuring. Two thumbs up, and can't wait to see you guys in our next trip to Shanghai.

Great and interesting bicycle tour. Our guide Q gave us a lot of background information, the locations we visited very very interesting (some of them we would never have found by our own). Perfect recommendation for people who want to get more knowledge about the city in a very close way to the locals.

It was a fun trip, I liked that we also stopped at one of the beautiful villas in the former French concession and had a little bit of history. The guides were super flexible, since a part of our group had to finish a bit earlier so one of the two guides helped them to return their bikes and leave on time. Overall a great experience.

Charlie Is absolutely delightful Shanghai guide, you can dive with her through history of old and modern Shanghai, a lot of architecture a lot of hidden places, I was surprised to see what is all behind the glamorous part of SH. I absolutely loved it, thank you so much Charlie, I would like to take other tours with you next time I’m coming. She also can advise everything about places to go, we tried traditional snacks, and vintage bikes feel so nice, nothing like the cheap rental once. To sum it up, if you interested in culture - this tour is must have 🥰

Amazing tour with Charlie and Q! Fabulous bikes, superb local food in places we would never have known about and a great way to learn more about Shanghai! Highlights were the xaolongbao and gorgeous vegetarian food (which tasted like meat 😳) but overall it was the tour guides who make this trip, super interesting, friendly and fun!

My partner and I are expats living in Shanghai. As we can’t travel at the moment we decided to do a bike tour during our CNY holiday. Our guide Q was absolutely great. He was incredibly knowledgable and keen to ask any questions we had whilst on the tour. The bikes were very comfortable to ride and water was provided. We visited lots of interesting locations we would never have found by ourselves and we even stopped for some delicious local cuisine for lunch. This is definitely one of the best tours we’ve ever been on - we recommend it highly!
