Andrew was an amazing surf coach! So patient and enthusiastic. Tailored the lesson to our ability and rate of progression. We had the best time!!

Really enjoyed my surf lesson with Escape surf school. Friendly staff and the instructor Andrew was very encouraging, with a good balance of tips and technical advice. Heated changing rooms too. Highly recommended.

I booked a 2 hrs lesson in the October 1/2 term holiday no problem. The people running it were super nice on arrival and as for the lesson it was A1. Andy the coach took us all over to Fistral ,as Tower beach wasn’t as good, then encouraged us all individually into fair surfers. He did a group teaching session then helped each one of us to hone any skill we might have. Thank you to all involved. My only complaint is it was all over way too quick Dude!🏄‍♀️🤟🏼🏄‍♂️🤟🏼🏄🤟🏼

Writing a review specifically to thank our instructor, Richard (Pigeon)! Super clear explanations on the beach, coupled with support of everyone in the group in the water. Extra supportive when I was getting frustrated with not getting the hang of it. By the end of the session I think I'd managed to stand up 5 or 6 times (with a little help being pushed off the waves), which I really thought was impossible at the start! Thank you, Pigeon! I could do with you as a life coach! 😊

The Surf school is friendly and professional. The equipment is well maintained, the facilities are clean and tidy. I had Richard (aka Pigeon) as my instructor, what a lovely guy! Professional, yet funny, humble. With an hour he had me surfing like a pro! Thank you Richard, you are a legend.

Magical. Last year I had such good experience that I came back this year. Thank you so much all the instructors, Sam, Jack & Andrew. Everyone is super friendly, helpful and patient with the coaching. Good equipment and nice warm shower afterwards. The discount at the restaurant just above the surf school is cool. The group is not big, which is amazing during the busy summer & bank holiday. I will definitely come back again next year.

Two great 2 hr sessions on Towan Beach. Our two families had great instructors Henry and Fin for our beginner lessons and all of us managed to stand up on the boards. The waves weren’t big but that was the luck of the weather so we could practice the technique. Instruction was clear and precise - with help catching waves. The Six of us really thought it was great - the kids did much better than the adults! Also good to have the photographer there to capture some classic moments!

The best thing I did while I visited Newquay, me and my partner had Jake and he was an amazing instructor and answered every ridiculous question we had, I will definitely be doing more lessons when I return.

Fantastic surf school. Friendly staff and knowledgeable, encouraging coaches. Well equipped, the warm showers after are a bonus. This is my son's 4th time having a lesson and I'm sure we'll be back again.

The two girls really loved the surfing and can’t wait to surf again. Great instruction and great fun. They even enjoyed it in 40mph winds when they eventually got to “curve”? I think.

This was my second year of booking with Escape and this time I brought my Partner Tom along with me as I was blown away with the experience the year before! They did not disappoint at all and whilst the waves weren’t coming in as thick and fast as we’d have liked, Reuben made sure that Tom and I caught the ones we could and worked on our skills as Beginners and by the end of the session we could both stand up and ride the wave to shore! The sun was shining, nothing like it, can’t wait to come back again next year! Thanks again :)

Both newbies to surfing and although we’re active and snowboard, we were sceptical that we’d be able to stand up in the board in the first lesson. However we both achieved it thanks to the brilliant instruction on Lucy and the team. We’ve since gone on to hire boards and Splash about in the sea in st ives. I would recommend taking them up on the included wetsuit for your experience to make sure you’re comfy and if you have sensitive feet wear sandals that you can walk to the beach in as there is some walking on pavement needed.

Fantastic experience! The instructor was friendly and managed to get all of us standing up! The two teens in our group loved it and we all had a great morning. Definitely recommend!

Went back to Escape again last week for 5 days of surfing this time. Honestly can’t fault them. Every instructor is amazing. So friendly, so passionate about what they’re doing, they give so much feedback and instruction. They really show they care. They pick between beaches for a surf best for you. Can’t recommend them enough. Plus they have an amazing photographer too. Can’t wait to go back!

First family surfing lesson - after a quick briefing on the beach we were soon in the sea and attempting to ride the waves. Andrew, our new instructor was brilliant - so patient and attentive and made sure we all had plenty of chances to get up on our boards. It was lots of fun in a safe environment. Will go again very soon!

We had such a great time going to Escape Surf School as total beginners. We did a session a day for 3 days by which time we were coming along nicely and felt confident to be able to try it on our own. Mike, Lucy & Pidge - our instructors. - were all brilliant. Really friendly and all seemed genuinely pleased for us as we each made our first indivual achievements and progressions. Newquay is a surf mad town so this was a great way to get a flavour

I brought my 2 daughters to try out surfing. Brilliant family time and we have had fabulous lessons from Richard at Escape Surf School. We were up on the boards in our first lesson!!! Brilliant teaching - super supportive and friendly and fun!! We are trying to work out when to come back. Thank you Richard - you were amazing.

The instructors were really attentive but still allowed you to progress at your own pace. The technique they were teaching was really easy to follow and provided different options if you didn't want to stand up straight away. Our session was reschduled due to the conditions and the types of waves but this was optional and we found this to be benefitial. Would really recommend.
