We went to the lecture and tour to the Gypsy Gold Farm in Ocala. The horses, donkeys and parrots are beautiful, as well as the farm. Dennis did the lecture for the first hour which was very informative. Dennis was witty, a great speaker and passionate about his horses and endeavors. Taylor took us on the farm tour for the second hour. She was so kind and knowledgeable about all the horses and donkeys . It was evident she enjoyed her job. We were able to pet and feed all the horses and the donkeys. I would recommend this tour to everyone. Don’t forget your carrots!

The story, the history, the horses all exceptional. This is a very informative tour and the people and facility are top notch.

I think listening to the owner tell his life story was as good as getting to see those beautiful horses. The history of how he brought these horses to America is so interesting. All the staff are very helpful and the tour was great. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves horses.

This working farm, run by the owner and founder of the famous Gypsy Vanner horses, is a spectacular view into Ocala’s famous horse world. The staff are very friendly and make your visit entertaining and educational. What an absolute treat to learn about this breed of horse and the fascinating history behind it!

If you want to see the real Ocala, I highly recommend this horse farm tour. The owner shares his super interesting life history with the group. He needs to write a book!

The history of horses is impressive. The owners of the farm are very friendly. We were a group of 6 . We all had a good time. The view was so beautiful and relaxing.

Loved the backstory of how these horses came to the US and how the owner is trying to bring a positive light to the gypsy culture! I could listen to him talk all day. Hoping he completes writing his book soon! Loved how we got to feed all the horses too. Very enjoyable experience. Recommend for all, especially those that don't know too much about horses (like me!).

This was a beautiful horse farm and it was interesting to discover the lineage of this beautiful breed and how this particular owner came upon them.

Dennis and Erin had extreme passion for their life's work and it showed! The animals were beautiful, loved and well-cared for.

Dennis was so wonderful with his knowledge & history of the beautiful Gypsy Vanner horses. The young lady who gave us the farm tour was wonderful & we got to see the Babies, Mares & Stallions & we loved seeing the donkeys. We would recommend to any animal lover ! Thanks so much !

All I can say is wow !! When we arrived the hoses knew they had guest.. and that’s how we were treated like family guest I’ve never seen horses so gentle like them they r golden retriever with hooves 😊( like Taylor said 🥰) this was by far my best experience… Taylor was great she showed us around and was very passionate about this horses.. the horses are really happy here…and I can tell they r very much loved.. we will be back very soon ty guys we will always remember this..ohhh and pls pls wen u guys come and visit bring carrots 🥕… we wish we did.. and if u dnt bring them u will regret so pls bring the babies some carrots 😉

A unique experience, unlike any other encounter with horses. Really interesting history. Great visit and owners actually interact with your small tour group. Very personal. Would go again

Relaxing & educational tour of a beautiful farm. What could be better than meeting the stunning Gypsy Vanner horses in person. During the first hour you will meet the owners, learn how they worked to bring these horses to the US and establish a breed standard and registry. Then enjoy a walk around the farm to meet the animals—horses , donkeys and birds. Totally enjoyable and one of the best experiences we’ve had in a while.

What a gem! We were visiting from New Jersey and spent about 2 1/2 hours on the property. After a very warm greeting, the visit was split into two parts. Part 1 was owner Dennis Thompson sharing magnificent tales. I could have listened for hours - truly. Part 2 was a walkabout (lead by Emily) of the property to visit the animals up close. Emily was lovely. This tour is great for any age. I learned so much in such a short period. I highly recommend this, you will not be disappointed!

Gypsy Gold Horse Farm is a beautiful property with a quite interesting history. The owner, Dennis, told everyone about the beginnings of the Gypsy Vanner breed including a great historical overview of the gypsy families that he spent time with to learn more about their culture. Dennis is an excellent speaker who kept us engaged with lively and humorous stories of his own personal life in the equine industry including the colorful cast of characters he's met along the way. Afterwords he took us on a guided tour of the farm to meet his menagerie of interesting and beautiful animals. The two hours we spent at Gypsy Gold Horse Farm was an enlightening and thoroughly enjoyable experience.
