Just being there- we were on an Italian tour but don’t speak that language. We just tagged along and it was perfect

It was great touring with a guide. Very informative and Matera is an amazing city. It did require a lot of walking and I don’t recommend going with an elderly relative. The Italian tour guide was very personable.

We did the sunset tour of the Sassi in Matera and it was amazing. The tour with Giusi was a very enjoyable experience. She is a knowledgeable and very enthusiastic tour guide. And if you're lucky to get her as a guide, you will absolutely love it!

Mario, our tour guide, was switched on and very knowledgeable on the history of the old city and the new. He did not go too fast like some other tours.

It was 2 relaxed hours visiting Matera. What seemed to be a long time, finally was short due to the amazing work of the guide.

The tour guide was excellent, but the operator was rude. He did not honor the time of our reservation because there were not enough people and did not even apologize. We had to go on a tour off a different language

We started the tour with a good experience, booking two spots on the phone (booking on line can't be done in the last few hours), and we got a relatively small size group (8-10 persons), guided by Pasquale, which was a great guide with good explanations and nice anecdotes. However, the tour lasted only 1h30' (12,45-14,15) which is much less than advertised and definitely insufficient to cover the Sassi. We were left mid-way, at the border between Sasso Barisano and Sasso Caveoso, the second of which we didn't visit at all. The tour included 2 sponsored stops, which would be nice if we could have the 2h30' but were definitely a loss of time in the 1h30' we got. The tour advertised to include the visit (entrance) to the Chiese Rupestri, which the guide skip due the lack of time. The tour started 15' later due to late arrival of some guests (we should have started anyhow, because others were on time) and had to stop at 14,15 because the guide had another trip planned. In other words, I would not recommend this service at all. Promises not kept.

Cancelled at the last minute (after I’d built my day around it) because they had insufficient numbers. No warning that this could happen and now have to wait a few days for a refund. Should have gone ahead regardless.

High level skill of guide. Matera is really beautiful and Romina know ALL of this city. Generally speaking , all of Martulli team is high prepared

I booked we were at the piazza g. Pascoli point. Canceled it last minute no previous cancellation. Worst experience ever don’t book it.

Take Care, the schedule are not respected on site. The visit started at 10:00 instead of 10:30 and we have been informed at 9:44. As a result We missed the visit in french and we did it in english with our daughter who does not speak this language.

We were booked for a 10.30am tour and arrived with 15 minutes to spare. On arrival we received a text from the tour company asking us to go to their office. We were then rushed to join another tour which had started at 10am. The tour company should have been better organised. The tour itself was informative and interesting albeit very hot (July)

A wonderfully interesting tour by Angelo who has a personal family history in Matera. He provided a comprehensive history of Matera and then a spirited tour of a cave house. Highly recommended!

The guide spoke poor English. So he took us to the sites but the explanation were poor and disappointing

Tour may be good with another company or driver. Our driver, Francesco, said the tour would be 1 hour for €20each and online it shows €15 and he returned us to the pick-up point in just 34 minutes!!! Let that sink in. When we got in the tuk-tuk, he said no need for seatbelts because we were not in Manhattan except that he drove like a Tijuana cab driver. I am generally hyper vigilant of my pacsafe purse but when we stopped to get out and take a photo from a few feet away, I turned to see driver was gone and had left doors open. He had gone into local shop for a beverage. The next time we stopped, I was struggling to get out with my purse and jammed the door hinge into my leg so deeply that it tore skin and he showed no concern at all. The best part was he took a nice photo of us but I have a massive bruise on my leg as a souvenir that I expect will be there for a couple of weeks. I recommend Sassi di Matera walking tours for a safer and more informative experience.
