We did the Villarrica Volcano ascent with Ermintaño Expediciones and had a perfect experience. The equipment was well-maintained, the trip was very organized and punctual, and the guides were so knowledgable, kind and fun to be around. Sebastian in particular was a standout guide for us - he made sure we had an all around great experience. 100% would recommend!

We did the Villarrica accent over Easter. We were fortunate enough to have nice weather, given how changeable it is from one day to the next. I read some reviews beforehand, that said it was quite challenging, but we didn't find it to be difficult, and we're in our sixties. It's about a 17km round trip. I liked the variation and different challenges, from uphill hiking, with volcanic rock all around, to putting on crampons and other protective gear, to the ice climbing, to sledding down the snow. (We were at the end of the season, so not as much snow as earlier on); then finally the walk back to the start, which is on a different route as the one we came up, so much faster. I wished I'd brought sandals for the walk back though, because I had a sore big toe, (from our 20km San Sebastian hike 2 days earlier), and the hard boots restricted my ability to walk downhill, without feeling the pain. The ground was too rocky to walk without footwear unfortunately, so I was a bit slow getting back. Marika and Christian from Ermitano Expedicciones do an amazing job in co-ordinating everything. We did 4 activities with them and all the guides were amazing, the excursions were awesome, they were always on time, the prices were very fair, and the memories will last forever. They take photos and videos for everyone along the way, then send them to you afterwards, without charge ... exceptional! If you have a sense of adventure, and want to challenge yourself, the fantastic team at Ermitano will encourage you, and take care of you all the way. And you'll have lots of beautiful memories, of your adventures in beautiful Pucon, Chile.

Wow! This was an absolutely incredible experience. As we began our sunrise assent to the top of Villarica, my expectations were high but little did I know what this powerful beauty had in store for us. At every stop we took a moment to enjoy the stunning views. Climbing the snowy peaks and getting to sled down was definitely a highlight. Our guide, Sebastian, was phenomenal! Could not have done it without him. All the guides, Marike, Sebastian and Barbara were extremely helpful, patient, positive and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

The folks at Ermitano Expeditions are excellent, to say the least. They are professional, intelligent, and very interesting people to guide you through your desired journey. I reached out to a lot, if not all, the tour companies in Pucon and the energy I received from them was very unique as compared to the rest. They were the only company that did not try to fit me into a pre-existing group. When I asked which mountain they recommended, they gave me descriptions of each, and empowered me to weigh the pros and cons. I was a solo traveler on a student budget with a restricted timeframe and they were able to answer all my questions and follow-up questions. They went above and beyond to educate me on things to do and places to go outside of their jurisdiction. They were very conscious of my health and well-being, both on and off the mountains. They also set up transfers for me between my hostel, airport, and their office. They have enough equipment to supplement whatever you already have, which makes it easy travel light. A few days with them, and we were all family. I highly recommend booking with them, shoot them a text and see how it goes!

This my first ever experience with climb, I dis not Image that I will have to do and how much I try to get the highest point. On our way, at least one I wanna quit but at the end, I could do thing that I thought wouldn’t. And I can’t do it without my tour guide, they alway encourage us and be patient to bring us to the top. The way down is very nice experience. That is the most valuable activity in púcon

We had a fantastic climb up Volcán Villarrica guided by the brilliant Christian. The equipment supplied was absolutely first class, the organisation and pre-tour planning was excellent and having Christian guide us for the day was a bonus - he is so knowledgeable about the local area, the history and the geology. It was such a great day on the mountain - we can’t recommend Ermitaño Expeditiones enough.

Great experience! The guides were super nice, explained clearly everything we needed to know and even more about the volcano and the region. The views up there are breathtaking especially when sledging down! I fully recommend.

Together with my boyfriend I did a ski-tour on Villarica. Besides the tour being an amazing and unforgettable experience, the guides Christian and Mareike provided us upfront with excellent advise on which tour would make sense regarding the weather and the suitable routes. We also had the feeling that giving us the perfect experience is always in their focus (even if they could have sold us another tour for more money). We would 100% recommend their services and tours.

Great expedition! Lots of fun sledding down and great views at the top. Not particularly strenuous but a lot of snow in winter (best time to go I think!)

Genuine great experience climbing Volcan Villarrica with our bilingual guides Marie and Christian. So much fun. Nice touch finishing the excursion with drinks and snacks. Totally worth the money albeit ascent to the summit was not possible due to amber yellow issued by authorities.

Very fun day hiking to the top of Villarrica. I have hiked a lot before but this was a unique experience, using crampons and ice axe. Great views from the top on a clear day. Smooth day with the guide as it was linked with a pick-up from my hostel.

Experienced guide led the tour. She told thoroughly about the volcano. The organizador provided mountain equipments.

Breathtaking experience! Recommended from a friend (Carpinterito Hostel) to do the Villarrica Volcano tour and with no expectations whatsoever it was def worth it! Cris and Mary were excellent guides, super nice and friendly and always willing to answer to your queries and to teach you about Pucón and its surroundings. I learnt a lot thanks to them and their tips which enhanced the experience perfectly. Tips for your ascent to the Volcano, please rest the day before! And having previous experience in similar activities is a plus. Its an intense but beautiful hike to the most active Volcano in Chile that I assure you, you wont forget! Please do yourself a favor and take a tour with Ermitaño!! I totally recommend it 😀 Thank you guys!

Both guides were really friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The hike and ice climb was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it. Felt safe during the whole experience as well. Really enjoyed it!
