Monica is the perfect guide to this park that is rich in nature, beauty and history! So fun to view through her scope the basking seals & a mother otter and her baby! Worth it, including a private spot to park. Do NOT wear shorts, even if it’s hot out. You’ll learn why. We will be doing it again!

The Point Lobos Nature Walk was great! The vistas were amazing, the cypress trees impressive, and our guide, Monica, ideal. Monica is a local enthusiast and an expert, knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended!

Monica was an outstanding guide! She shared her wealth of knowledge with us about the beautiful Point Lobos area. She made the hike enjoyable in every way. She brought her binoculars so we could see coastal wildlife (including Harbour seals and sea lions) and shared so much about the rich history of this special land and seascape. I cannot recommend this highly enough!

This tour was incredibly fun and Monica is a wonderful guide! She is very friendly and welcoming and really engages with each person on her tour. It was a true hike, so there was a little bit of uneven terrain, but it wasn't too bad and mostly very easy to traverse. I highly recommend taking this walk!

It’s a great hike not hard at all and in the beautiful setting Highly recommend! We were beginner and did not dress correctly but she watched us very closely Offcourse We were 2 elderly and could not quite catch up with the rest but Monica was so gratefully watching and handle 2 different groups with 2 different speed Thank you again for your great guide and me personally I would like to go again !

Family friendly hike. Efficient and educational way to explore Point Lobos. It was my first time here with my family and it was so nice to be be guided through a large part of the park. Our guide was so incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and kept the pace. I had 3 toddlers (4.5, 4.5 and 3 years old). They did well for their age and we understandably trailed the end. Very enjoyable and so fun! I would love to do this every year! You wont regret it

This was an excellent hike filled with memorable descriptions of wildflower and tree ‘behavior’, so that the information could be easily recalled later. Monica’s history teaching and stories were also colorful and engaging so that the information was interesting and memorable. The ages of the group ranged from 3 years old to 78. To her great credit, Monica made the hike work well for everyone.

Monica was a lovely tour guide and wonderful story teller. Her dog, Heidi, greeted all of us warmly before we left for the hike from their home across from the state park :) The hike was absolutely breath taking!! Fair warning it would be challenging for very young kids or seniors who are not able to walk off the beaten path or do stairs. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend it!

We had so much fun walking the trails with our guide Monica. She is an awesome storyteller & really brought the history of the park alive. Both the children & adults had a great time.

Monica is a great storyteller. She is also very knowledgeable about the local flora and history of Point Lobos as her family his connected to its history. Make sure you wear good walking shoes, pants to avoid the poison oaks from touching the skin. Bring a light jacket. This is a light to moderate hike with the occasional steep incline. You won’t regret going with such a personable guide!

Our Point Lobos tour with Monica was absolutely wonderful! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Everything, from the beauty of nature all around us to her vast knowledge of the plant and sea life to her impressive understanding of Point Lobos history was so enjoyable! We absolutely enjoyed our guided tour with Monica. Her charming personality, her local knowledge and her keen sight gave us a beautiful experience hiking the Los Lobos State Park. She pointed out animals we wouldn't have seen on our own-- far out in the ocean like otters and seals. Her love for the area was seen in every aspect of the tour. We definitely would like to do more of her tours in the future!

Our guide was so personable, I felt as if I’d made a new friend! Her knowledge of the area, as well as her personal connection to it, made the tour so interesting! One of the best moments was seeing the otters play in the bay, and the views were simply breathtaking! You should not miss this experience!

Monica is a joy! This dear soul weaves an unexpectedly true historical account of her personal interest in Point Lobos as she expertly points out highlights of the reserve. Viewing a sea otter “chillin’ out” through her telescope is your visual extension of her passion; a passion focused on the many amazing features that make this the most beautiful spot along Highway 1. We thoroughly enjoyed her company as a most gracious individual and a deeply knowledgeable guide!

My review of our tour with Monica is that she was 10/10. She’s extremely talented speaker , knowledgeable and a good listener to her customers questions. The mix of history and nature was perfect with a very comfortable style. I would definitely recommend Monica to anyone interested in learning more about the history and the Carmel area. Bruce Allen
