Thorough and knowledgeable guide who explained the significant pieces from each artist, the history of their lives and the motivations for their creative periods. A guide is almost a necessity in this museum because it is laid out is such an unorthodox fashion. It was well worth the money to have her expertise as she guided us through in an efficient yet unhurried manner.

Outstanding guide! Very knowledgeable about the museum in all aspects. The museum is quite large & having an excellent guide who knows the facility is very helpful.

An amazing, private 2 hour tour with our guide Elena! Her local knowledge of the history behind the Guggenheim Bilbao — coupled with incredible expertise in the architecture, artwork and artists — made our visit very special.

Lovely knowledgeable guide. She answered all our questions clearly and happily. Great tour that took in all the exhibits and drew our attention to architectural detailing of the building that we would have missed.

It was an outstanding experience. Our guide was fourth generation Basque raised and educated in Bilbao and that connection was powerfully expressed in her deep understanding of not only the Guggenheim itself but the impact it had in the city and the region and how it came into being. The collection itself is well worth the time to visit and spend time experiencing. The investment in a private tour is well worth it as our guide added a depth and explained nuances that would have been impossible to understand in the time. Our guide was Iratxe Muñoz. Request her as your guide. You will not be disappointed. She has a unique and deep understanding of the impact of Guggenheim on Basque culture in general and Bilbao in particular. My only regret is that we did not have more time than the two hours we had available. Time is precious. Time with her was well spent and I enjoyed every moment.

2 hour private tour was worthwhile for us because we had many questions about the building, funding, community support, etc fo the building. Our tour guide was patient and let us guide the tour. For us, the building and the Richard Serra exhibit were the most interesting aspects of the museum.
