I went to Belfast as part of our local Arts Society group. There were 47 of us. Despite the large number, Aidan looked after us very well, made sure that everyone was happy with what they were doing and seeing and provided a balanced and really interesting and insightful account of The Troubles and life in Belfast. He was a major influence on the success of our five enjoyable days in Belfast, Hillsborough Castle,and the North Antrim coast

We took our English visitors on the More Than 'the Troubles' walking tour and it was the highlight of their visit to Northern Ireland. Aidan was an exceptional guide, friendly, patient and happy for us to ask questions. The information was not only interesting and entertaining it was well balanced giving the total picture. Highlight of our trip! A fascinating look back into the history of Belfast and the region that really helped understand how Northern Ireland became the wonderful country it is today. Aidan took us all around the city centre and up to the river pointing out key sights and districts. He intersperses his experiences of growing up in the city in an amusing and compelling fashion! Aidan was extremely accommodating throughout the tour and I felt he went out of his way to ensure we got an authentic experience and learn about Belfast’s troubled past. The current pandemic made the tour far more difficult to arrange however we never felt that way. So many laughs shared and easily our most memorable activity from our trip. Highly recommend!

An informative and enjoyable experience. Aidan took us to all of the significant historical spots in the city centre, explaining their stories in a clear and insightful manner that was easy to follow. The tour takes in more than just the troubles, giving background on Belfast's Medieval and industrial pasts as well. Very knowledgeable and interesting, the guide could answer all our questions and gave a balanced view of a very complex history.
