Excellent! The kids(9 and 11) had a blast - 10 stars! Lots of great stories and fun games, both intellectual and physical games that kept the kids engaged. Martina was a great and personable guide!!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. We are very grateful we got to have a fun sightseeing experience with our three young children. Our 6 year old says this was the best experience of our entire trip.

I really would like to give this company a 5 star but as much as I was pulling for them, I have to quickly downgrade them to a 3. In theory, they have a great concept and the one thing I will rate them individually on as a 5 is the fact they were able to provide a slew of options of things to do around the islands that I otherwise might have missed or just plainly did not have the time to research. A++ with that and they alleviated the stress and hassle of me having to get my boarding passes to the ferry and two different air transports as I island hopped. THAT was instrumentally wonderful. They also provided the transportation to and from which in theory was a great idea but here is where I very quickly started to have to rate them as 3 (C-) The first day's tour went seamless. The second day I thought it would be the same process however the driver never came to the lobby. I waited and waited so my instincts told me to walk to the edge of the road. (There was no communication from Effie or the team of Be a Greek to alert me that I had to walk to the end of the road to be picked up. THEN, I get to the car and the gentleman does not speak English very well so he just says he is picking up one person. I asked him to give me my name at which time he proceeded to say he didn't know my name. This is a huge safety issue for me as I am not getting into a random car in a country I had never been before with a man who hardly speaks English and me not knowing Greek. After having to muddle through this we recognized he was indeed my driver and when he dropped me and my friend off, he just dropped us off into the middle of a mad house. He did not tell us where to go and Effie and/or team did not give us insight of who we were to ask for or what station to go to- NOTHING. It was extremely frustrating. We basically had to fend for ourselves the rest of that day. From this day onward, we found a lot of the same where our driver would just drop us off and not tell us where to go and Effie and/or team would always say "your driver will t guide you." but that was not the case and not speaking the language made things even more complicated in many of these scenarios. Every time we provided feedback to the group there was always an excuse and no one accepted accountability that they had indeed messed up however one of the founders Dimitrios, was very instrumental at trying to make things right by giving us upgrades in some fashion after each instance but we were not interested in upgrades.. we wanted the incompetence to cease and just be presented with information. The "in a nut shell" feedback is that we are from the US and know nothing about Greece so "we don't know what we don't know" We appreciate having someone do all of the legwork in scheduling and coordinating and going back and forth with us in making decisions. However each night when you verify times to meet driver, it would be nice to also get a detail summary of exact addresses and names of where the driver is dropping us off if there is a street address. What are landmarks, etc. If we have to meet the driver at our hotel and have to walk up the road to meet him, that needs to be specified or if we have to walk down a pedestrian street to wait for him at the corner then this too needs to be clearly expressed in the night before confirmations. We do not feel as if Effie really truly "heard" what we presented as "must do's" because we paid over 7k for this trip only for the main thing we desired to be completely eliminated from our tour which truly ticked me off and caused some unpleasantness. Dimitrios comp'ed us again for this huge misunderstanding but it was rushed and and just not fun "after" the fact but the effort for him to try to remedy it was recognized There were so many things that went wrong that we even recognized the staff discussing how difficult we were being but again if we pay over 7k for a tr unless it is an act of mother nature keeping us from doing the things we agreed upon, we have every right to expect what we paid for and that is not being difficult. I could list out all of the other mishaps but won't because they were of the same nature just different locations and different drivers etc. Antonia- our Mythology guide was the BEST! She and she alone would probably make me sway my 3 (c-) to a 4 ( B) but I just can't do it. However Antonia.. you get an A++ as a stand alone and I thank you for absolutely everything!

My daughter (8) and I enjoyed this tour. It was a great way for my daughter to get oriented and immerse herself in Athens. Antonia was excellent, fun and knowledgeable. She engaged my daughter every minute and we all had fun. Great way to see ancient sites and cater to young kids interests and attention spans. Highly recommend it. Thank you, Antonia.

This was an awesome experience for our kids. Our guide was the best and our kids really enjoyed their time on this tour it really brought the history of Athens to life. We would highly recommend this activity for kids

My kids 8 &6 absolutely loved this tour. It’s a 4 hour mythology treasure hunt tour that is planned excellently , with age appropriate games, activities, stories. The time really just flew by. Everything is so well paced and extremely well done. During the tour, kids (and adults) learned so much while we got to see all the main highlights in Athens while the kids were having the best time! Antonia was our amazing tour guide & she connected with my kids so well. My daughter was extremely sad when the tour ended. She is keeping the maps she used as a souvenir to remember this special day and Antonia. And both my kids voted this tour as the best one of our entire 2 week stay in greece (and trust me, we did several :) !!! If you are looking for a tour in Athens as a family with kids, this is absolutely the one your you must take. You & specially your kids, will be so happy you did.

Our tour guide, Antonia, was incredible. Kept my eight year old daughter engaged throughout the four hour walking tour which I can tell you is no mean feat! Really informative, and relaxed and covered a great deal. A great four hours spent and got a good amount of steps in too! No hesitation in recommending either the tour, the agency or Antonia, our guide. All excellent!

We had a fabulous time on the Mythology treasure hunt. Our Guide, Antonia, was knowledgable, spoke brilliant English and had a great connection with our kids. It was fun, we all learned loads, and we went at our own pace (with a 2 year old!). Our older kids really enjoyed themselves, and loved the competitions, games and collecting points and numbers to crack the code. A lovely concept that worked really well and was delivered/pitched perfectly. Thank you Antonia.

The tour was interesting, our guide Antonia was very nice, responded to all our questions and cheered and motivated our 9 year old daughter to do the games during this tour. The reason why we don't give more starts is that the tour was overpriced. We were expecting a more elaborated scavenger hunt with more exciting games.

Antonia was absolutely amazing! The tour was the perfect amount of time, the right amount of walking, and perfect locations to visit throughout. Antonia kept my 13 and 9 year old engaged the entire time. Super sweet young woman with a wealth of knowledge and so proud of her city and culture. A must do if you have a limited time in Athens.

Our kids are 9 and 10 and loved this tour. You don’t go into any sites. You walk around the city and walk by some sites (like the Olympic stadium). Therefore, you’ll need a different tour to see the Acropolis and ruins/forum. My kids said it was their favorite tour as they loved the stories and learning about different Greek Myths. We were surprised, but very happy we did it for our kids.

We had a wonderful tour with Antonia! She was absolutely lovely. Kind, patient and really great with the kids! They loved the stories, pictures and games and we all learned so much. Very thoughtful and fun tour and we really enjoyed spending time with Antonia. Highly recommend!

Our guide, Antonia, was wonderful. The games and activities she'd planned, her way of explaining things and engaging with the kids, and her stories, were all fun for both our girls, even with the big age gap (one is 6, one's 12). The refreshment break was nice, and Antonia was accommodating and understanding when we needed additional breaks, and tried her best to keep us in the shade and cool in the 94 degree we were walking in. I do think the tour is a bit long for younger kids, but that could also be because of the heat and because ours went 2 hours past our typical lunchtime. But overall, I'd totally recommend this for any family with kids- it was way more fun for ours (and for my husband and I as a result) to experience the sights this way then through regular tours oriented to adults, or than if we were to just have explored them on our own.

Martina was a fantastic guide and fun personality. She was very patient with my kids even as they were cranky and moody periodically. The activities were fun, lots of learning took place and the kids were thrilled with the surprise at the end. Hard to say who enjoyed it more, me or the kids! Was a nice cap to our visit of Athens. On the one hand I went to say that the tour should be made shorter with a shorter walk and target older kids (9+) but my kids (8 and 5) really enjoyed it. It was at the edge of their comfort zone though, So if your kids are more cranky, they might not enjoy it.

Nice morning out and about around Athens. Our guide Bianca was great with the kids, and very easy to talk to, bery knowledgeable about Athens past and present. Games and activities were fun for adults and kids alike. Mine are aged 12/10 yrs and probably at the upper end for enjoying this tour. I learned a lot and the kids solidified their Greek mythology knowledge. The cost is high, but it was over 3 hours! (felt a little bit too long for me), it did include a snack and small toys at the end.

We had ages 8 through 16 and adults. It was definitely worth it. The kids enjoyed it and couldn't wait to open Pandora's box

This was a really fun and an excellent learning experience. We had taken another tour in the morning so we worried our kids might be too tired but they had a ton of fun and we’re super engaged. Our guide, Antonia, was knowledgeable and helped answer all our questions about the area. The games and structure of the tour were really well setup for kids. We all had a blast. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a cool experience to do as a family.

I’ve taken my kids around the world and this was the best kids tour we have ever gone on. We went on this tour on our first day in Athens. It was a great way to get our bearings in the city and learn enough about mythology to really understand what we saw during our time in Greece. It was also nice because you get to see of a bunch of sites during the tour, which helped us realize what sites we wanted to go back and explore further and which ones we didn’t need to spend more time on. Which actually helped us be so much more efficient on our trip. We had me, my husband and my 5, 8 and 10 year old boys on the tour. All three of my kids are quite spirited and my oldest is neurodiverse. They all LOVED this tour. Effie was so wonderful with my kids. She kept them fully engaged and was really attentive to their safety. She not only taught them a lot about Greek mythology, she made sure to reinforce the learning with games and physical activities which really kept my jet lagged children from getting bored or losing interest. You know when you can keep a 5 year old entertained for hours, you are doing something right. This tour had a break in the middle for a beverage and bathroom break- which is essential for the kids. They really did think of everything. At the end of our time in Greece I asked the kids what they learned and most of what they said came from this tour. We did a kids tour of the acropolis with a different company later in the week and were really disappointed. It didn’t even come close to touching this tour. Effie set a VERY high bar. This is the tour which all future kids tours will be compared. A note on accessibility- I was 4 days out from being in a walking boot when I took this tour. I was still using a heel lift and limping a bit. I was nervous on whether I could do the full tour but it went great. Effie breaks the tour up at different points and has stops where you can sit down while the kids learn and do their activities. It really broke up the walking enough that I was able to participate in the full tour. I really just can’t say enough good things about this tour! Just book it!

Had a great tour with Martina. She was a great story teller (my 8 year old who knew all the myths still found the stories exciting) and the games kept my 5 year old entertained.
