We had an amazing experience on our Grand Canyon Tour provided by Canyon Dave Tours, Inc. Our guide, Leonor, was the best. She is so knowledge about the area and went the extra mile to explain to us what we were seeing and many legends of the Canyon. They operate a small van that picks you up and returns you to your hotel. With a minimum amount of guests on the tour makes it feel very personal. Our guide provided us with snacks, water and lunch at one of the lodges at the canyon. She took us to all the "highlight" spots in the Canyon and did not make us feel rushed. We can not say enough about the greatest tour we have ever taken. We travel a lot and have taken many tours in the large buses and those tours do not even come close to the experience we had. I HIGHLY recommend this company and tour, you won't be disappointed. Consider this tour before booking the train up to the canyon, we did both and this one was by far the BEST!!

It was all memorable, but I especially liked the human interest stories in developing the park. My husband loved the geology information, our guide provided. Our guide Keaton, gave us a wonderful informative, fun day, with of course the WOW views!

Fantastic day! Lou was an amazing guide that was a wealth of information. The canyon is breathtaking and having more geological and historical information made it even more memorable. Well worth every penny. Included snacks through the day and a wonderful lunch.

We hoped for an overview of the history and geology of the Canyon. What we got was Lae - a mountain woman with incredible knowledge and deep love of this countryside. She described the changing fauna as we drove towards the canyon and pointed out herd of elk, antelopes and wild horses along the way. Then she told us the history of the Canyon as far as original American Indian tribes plus the encroaching settlers and the importance of the Santa Fe Railroad. She shared information about the scarcity of water, the winds and wind corridors, census report statistics, average temperatures and snowfall. And of great importance, Lea kept us posted on the proximity of restrooms along with restroom reviews! The owner of Canyon Dave Tours is Dave, retired as a geologist for the Grand Canyon National Park. His wife and co-owner is a retired botanist also for Park. They have put together a professional staff of educated individuals with a love of the Park and a deep knowledge of the geology (past and present) along with info on the importance and use of different fauna. Each guide goes through an intense training period so they understand the makeup of the park geology and history. Lae knows the trails, the mountains, the river and the best spots for viewing (without the crowds) at the overlooks. She pointed out architectural features of Bright Angel Lodge and the Lookout Tower. Shared the inside scoop about the Kolb Brothers photography studio and their loggerheads with the national park system along with their incredible photo business which included fanciful portraits of travelers riding their mules down the trail towards the bottom of the park (they took portraits at rim) then ran 9 miles to the bottom to process photos because the water was available there and then, ran BACK up the trails to have the photo ready for their clients. A wealth of daring and intrepid individuals developed the Canyon as it is today and Lae has stories about many, many of them. Besides an obvious love of the area, Lae has a great sense of humor and infectious laugh. Our tour was so much more than we expected. If you want a tour with individual treatment and great learning experiences, then contact Canyon Dave Tours. And do request Lae. Tell her that Panama Pam sent you!

Our tour guide, Keaton was excellent. He was prompt on pickup, interested in what we wanted to get from the tour, and how he could meet our expectations. His knowledge of The Canyon, from hiking extensively in many areas, leading tours for 7-8 years, his studied knowledge of geology and history dovetailed everything into a comprehensive tour. He was aware of all our needs, water, van comfort, and restroom breaks. We never had a need or question that was not addressed immediately and with pleasure. Would book with them for another tour if needed.

Good experience - worth it to pay for the glass car/caboose. You get to go outside on back of train will riding, which was a highlight. Nice snacks/spread and beverage choices. Fun music & entertainment. Group of adults & all had a good time. Only drawback was there is a very, very big alcohol push in the morning - lots of stressing buying drinks, which got to be a bit of a turn off. Money well spent!

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon and the area. We learned about the historical buildings, people, geological formations, flora, and fauna. We started with a foggy, snowy morning but the clouds cleared somewhat by mid afternoon and we were able to see some of the canyon.

A rather old tour bus but on the whole an excellent tour with a highly knowledgeable tour guide. Quite relaxing after a frantic visit to all five of Utah's National Parks and so suitable for mature travellers like myself! Highly Recommended!

Cody was an outstanding tour guide!! My husband and I were the only ones on his last season tour before vacation. We so enjoyed learning the rich history of the Grand Canyon including the Harvey Girls, Harvey himself, the construction of hotels, cabins, the Village and even the water pipeline. One of our favorite activities was lunch with a view and GEOLOGY lesson, including an identification quiz of the specific types of rocks! Wow- Cody really made us think! In addition, we thoroughly enjoyed walking the trail to view the pictographs. Cody has personal experiences living and hiking the Grand Canyon which added to his story telling style . Thank you Dave for your influence and giving us a first time experience viewing the Grand Canyon!! A+ score!!

The tour was beyond my expectations. My tour guide, Cody from Canyon Dave Tours was very knowledgeable and he was really engaging. I appreciated that he really put a lot of thought into the experience making it more memorable. I certainly know more about the various types of rocks now than before. Visiting the Grand Canyon has been one of my life-long dreams. Thank you for making the experience a memorable and meaningful one.

My husband and I ended up being the only two on the Grand Canyon tour due to possible weather. It was lovely to have a private tour. Due to the weather, some views were temporarily no good. Keaton took us to alternate locations to show us the beauty around us and then took us back to all the original sites once the clouds and fog cleared up. He knows his stuff and we felt like we got the royal treatment. Worth every penny. Could not have been any better, truly

Our guide, Tim, was fantastic -- friendly, cheerful, and incredibly knowledgeable about the region and the history of the Grand Canyon. He answered all of my sons' questions and the day trip was carefree for me and amazing! I didn't have to drive or figure out where to go--Tim took care of us from start to finish.

Mr. Cody was soooo great! What a knowledgeable, engaging, friendly guide. The drive from Williams was about 50 mins., but seemed to go by quickly with Cody explaining about the day ahead, history of area, etc. My teens really enjoyed the wildlife sightings, like Bighorn Sheep, a juvenile California Condor, and lots of Elk herds.

Keaton was a great tour guide. With degrees in biology and history, and well versed in geology, he provided us concise and timely info for the numerous viewpoints he showed us. Definitely a strong recommendation for a first time visitor, and also for those who interested in seeing the Grand Canyon in several perspectives in one day.

This tour is more than just a visit to the Grand Canyon but a tour offering a selection of great viewpoints plus a heap of wonderful information about history, flora, fauna, geology, geography, history, art……….. my travelling companion has limited mobility plus we had a family with a young son in our group; our tour guide juggled the different needs of our group very well. The Grand Canyon was the finale of our trip and didn’t disappoint!!
