We had the pleasure of touring the historic Gabala and Mud Volcanoes and it was an unforgettable experience. Specially because of our tour guide Yashar, his knowledge was not only deep but also engagingly presented, making history come alive for us. He was incredibly patient and accommodating, always willing to answer questions and adjust the pace to suit our needs. The tour was well-organized, comprehensive, and, thanks to Yashar, deeply enriching. We came away with a newfound appreciation for Azerbaijan rich heritage and can't recommend Yashar highly enough as a guide.

Had a great time at the Gobustan, yanar dag etc. Tour with our tour guide Zaur. He was very informative about historical and religious background information at the different stops without being too exhaustive. The stops also provide a nice variety throughout all the centuries. The tour provides a perfect opportunity to see all sights outside of Baku's historic center.

My private tour guide, Ruslan, was an amazing host and extremely knowledgeable. He picked me up from my hotel promptly at the agreed time and safely drove me to all of the sites included in this tour. He shared many educational facts along the way, which was greatly appreciated. The lunch stop was wonderful…I asked Ruslan to order for me and he did not disappoint. If you have the better part of a day available then I highly recommend this tour. For reference, I took this tour in August and it was extremely hot (above 40C) at Gobustan, so be sure to hydrate ahead of time and bring water (Ruslan also stopped for more water once I ran out of what I brought).

Shah was my tour guide for the day and he was truly amazing. I really felt like I hired a friend for the day. He was very nice and accommodating. He was professional yet very friendly and easily to get along with. His knowledge of the history and the museums we visited was incomparable. His insight was incredible and this truly allowed him to provide the best tour of such a beautiful country. If i plan on visiting Azerbaijan again and if available I would definitely request SHAH.

The tour covered Gobustan Park and Museum, Mud Volcanoes, Temple Fire, and Yanardan fires. The tour guide was nice, but spoke broken English and didn’t have a lot of knowledge of the areas covered. I did hear other English speaking guides giving in-depth descriptions of the different places. There was no planned lunch, except for the guide stopping off at a market, asking if I wanted something.

Very well organized and safe private tour in Gobustan, all on time, pick up from hotel. Sites were amazing: mud volcanos, petroglyphs, burning mountain, fire temple. Also the lunch with local food is worth the trip. Special thanks to our guide Farid, very social and friendly. Highly recommended.

This was a great way to spend our last day. The guide and driver we're great and flexible when we needed to go to the airport instead of back to our hotel. I would recommend then.

You reach Gobustan by the old silk route road; once in you go back in time;the museum to explain the advent of mankind is interesting, very good for school going children and for others to recap. Once at the real locaton, its great to see the cave paintings of goat, dancing me, etc created by our ancestors; also found many holes cut / bored into the hills to store rain water. The part which is opened to tourists have a Lion faced cliff. Did not visit the Mud volcanoes as our guide discouraged. You need to have a seperate pair of shoes probably to visit that as the mud is supposed to spoil them. After that we went to Inner City Baku for a Lunch organized by the Travel agent. Had Rice, Mutton and Greens plus Chicken kebab. Different style of cooking .. loved it. After that to Yanardag - the fire mountain... supposed to be burning for last 3000 years owing to reach natural gas reserve underground; it burns even when it snows!! Last stop was at Atesgarh temple - The fire temple which was established when trade between Azerbaijan and India prospered. It was built by the traders who though fire coming out of the earth was signal from God. Later on in the 18th Century when natural gas exploration started, underground reserves depleted and the fires closed out. Now the fires in the temple are with gas pipelines, but still its a great place to visit. We as Indians were surprised to here the hymns in sanskrit being chanted in the audio system at one of the rooms !! Our guide Mr Madat from Voyage tours (Azerbaijan) was very patient to explain each and every aspect of the Fire Temple.

The tour began at around 10 am. It was supposed to start at 9 am but there was traffic and a few passengers were delayed by 45 minutes. However, once we got going, the tour was actually quite fun and exciting. The whole trip roughly took 7 hours (incl. the lunch break). Most of the major sites outside the Baku City Centre were visited - the Gobustan Park, Mud Volcanoes, Fire Temple and Fire Mountain. Apart from this, the tour also takes you to the Bibiheybat mosque and the oil fields. The best part of the journey was that I did not have to pay anything for the entrance to these sites as it is all included. However, there are a few things to note - you will have to pay a small tip to the driver of the 4x4 who takes you to the Mud Volcanoes, and there is no hotel pick-up or drop off. The meeting point is the Double Gates (Gosha Gala Gapisi). We also stopped for lunch near the Fire Temple. The lunch was a buffet, and decent. I'd recommend sticking to the pilaf, which was actually quite nice. The tour guide, Azhar, was also great fun and very informative about the sites we visited. He explained everything quite clearly and gave us sufficient time to take pictures. Clearly a trip I wouldn't mind doing again!

Full day tour in the main attractions of Baku and surroundings. As a frequent traveller, I was pleasantly surprised with the content (mud volcanoes, fire mountain, fire temple, mosque, etc.) and incredible food we were served for lunch.

We had a great guide, Mahabat! He was interesting and very informative with understandable Spoken English. This was an ideal tour because it covered the major sites around Baku. Everything was paid for prior to the trip so no extra money was required unless you wanted water, pop, candy, etc.

Ali and Arif were excellent tour guides. They were very knowledgeable about all of the historic sites. Ali even took it upon himself to help another woman with information. I highly recommend booking with them.

Very well organized and well worth it. We were able to see the whole main spots of Absheron area and Gobustan all within a half day trip. Very efficient tour and a very friendly guide! The Azerbaijani lunch was also amazing.

This is a nice trip to do when you only have a couple of days in Baku. The mud volcanoes are fantastic (though poorly looked after) and the rock art is nice as well. Just one piece of advise: best to book the trip locally from your hotel or so - it will be cheaper.
