Sabuhi our guide for a day. Did a great job. A lot of knowledge, patience and responsibility and concern for travelers. Very good English, excellent accent and easy to understand. The ATI tourism company complied with everything written in their advertising. They picked us up on time and made sure that, in addition to the good guide, we would also be accompanied by a manager responsible for logistics, of course there was a suitable vehicle with a good driver.

The most memorable, but not in a good way, was the nightmare journey in a so-called 4WD Russian Lada, with a maniacal driver, out to the unimpressive ‘little volcanoes’ which in reality was bubbling mud. We’d much rather pay more to be driven in a safe and actual, 4WD vehicle such as we saw other visitors being driven in. Not only was our driver using his mobile phone to make calls and text whilst driving with one hand at full speed on wet and extremely bumpy dirt roads but he was also verbally abusing other drivers in deafening volume. The four of us passengers yelled at him numerous times to slow down and stop texting but he totally ignored us saying he did this every day. One day, there will be a terrible accident, most likely with lives lost. The front passenger seat was tied up with string to limit movement and there were no seatbelts for the passengers. In Australia the vehicle would not be allowed on our roads. This driver, and all the other ones for this part of the trip, were 40 minutes late to pick us up from our bus, making a long day even longer. Our bus driver was very safe and kept to the road rules and our young guide, Emin Gulmammadli, was very good with great English language skills and knowledge of the history of the places we visited. The tour manager for the company that Viator engaged for this tour was actually overseeing our trip and came with us on the bus. We first met him while we were waiting for our bus to arrive in the morning when he came up to us and asked if we had any tissues. He then asked us which tour we were doing and who with. On being told we booked with Viator, he didn’t know the name and told us it was a VERY boring day trip! He was very surprised when he saw us get on his bus and backtracked by saying it was a great tour. We weren’t very impressed with his attitude and along with the terrifying side trip to the mud volcanoes, we feel that Viator will get a bad name by allowing passengers lives to be put at risk. It’s not just us complaining about this, everyone on the tour had similar experiences to us and all were complaining bitterly after they got back. One young man was even prepared to jump out of his window if he had to. We have a video of the last couple of hundred metres, but it was flat road at that stage and nothing can really describe the experience apart from being there. I have booked six day trips through Viator for our 5 week holiday and certainly hope that our final two will be trouble free. Rosalie Pearson

I would really like to commend Nazperi for how knowledgeable she is along with her caring and friendly attitude towards all of her guests. She was always on lookout that all her patrons have arrived and departed with her throughout the tour. She demonstrated a very good working knowledgeable of all the attractions and of Azerbaijan. She was constantly keeping all of us informed of all the buildings and attractions of significance here. I was extremely happy with the tour even though we weren't able to go and see the mud volcanoes due to the heavy rain.

Mostly because it felt very rushed and we didn’t managed to visit the mud volcano which was the sole reason I bought the trip. Our guide Nazperi was knowledgeable and helpful and tried to take care of everyone even though it looked like she was freezing. She also tried to answer all my questions candidly. 👍🏼

Despite of the unexpected rains at Azerbaijan, our tour guide Nazperi left no stone unturned to make this day tour a memorable one. She was very descriptive and showed immense knowledge towards different cultures, especially while showing us Fire Temple. She made sure that the trip was not extended unduly by keeping the entire group together at all times. Would highly recommend this tour, especially with Nazperi. The lunch offered on this tour was also a great one. Kudos to the Chef..!!

Before coming to Azerbaijan, I knew I would like to visit the sites offered as part of this tour, and as a solo traveller without car, this was the best option to pick. Everything was as according to advertised, we have been collected and dropped off at our hotels. Albeit for a brief period (which is the limit of day trips), but I was absolutely fascinated to see the petroglyphs and the mud vulcanoes. Leaving Baku also gives you a little bit of opportunity to see some rural ares of the country. The off-the-track taxi drive will remain a great memory. At lunch, the food was fine, I recommend to try Azeri cousine at other restaurants as well. I have equally enjoyed the afternoon programme at Atashgah and Yanardag, seeing the flames coming freely from the ground is truly an experience. Gunay, our tour guide was caring and shared adequate amount of information with us throughout the whole day. She rushed to help out one of our fellow participant, who had an incident falling into the mud. Overall, do not miss out on this great day trip.

Our exploration of Gobustan and Absheron was nothing short of extraordinary. Gobustan's ancient petroglyphs mesmerized us, offering a captivating glimpse into humanity's past. Emin's (our tour operator) expertise brought these historical treasures to life, enriching our understanding of Azerbaijan's rich heritage. The tour seamlessly transitioned to Absheron, where we were greeted by the stunning landscapes of the Caspian coastline. From the iconic Fire Temple of Ateshgah to the enigmatic Yanar Dag, each site left us in awe of nature's power and beauty. Emin's meticulous planning ensured a smooth and immersive experience throughout the journey. His passion for sharing Azerbaijan's cultural and natural wonders was evident in every detail of the tour. The lunch was a feast of flavors, featuring aromatic rice pilafs, succulent meat and vibrant salads, all enjoyed amidst warm hospitality and rich cultural tradition. Thanks to Emin's exceptional guidance, our exploration of Gobustan and Absheron exceeded all expectations, leaving us with cherished memories to last a lifetime. A five star for Emin !!

This day trip in Azerbaijan is a must. The historical sightings are a beautiful experience. This tour was organised by ITC tours and they did a really good job in showing us around. Our English tour guide EMIN was excellent in giving us all the details of each place. Overall the experience was really nice 😊

We (2 people) are very satisfied with our Gobustan Tour (8:00 am to 6:00 pm) with this travel agency. Our English guide's name is Ms. Nazperi. I was very impressed with her enthusiasm and excellent service. And it was great to learn more about Azerbaijan. We recomend this travel agency and our english guide Ms. Nazperi to all. Be blessed always!

This tour is somehow boring compared to other things you can do. The rock carvings are interesting and the landscape there looks like a savana but the museum was booring. Also the mud volcanos are realy not interesting, they are really small and not eupting. But, the road up to the volcanos we did it in an old lada car with a really crazy driver doing 100km,/h. That was the only fun part. The afternoon they took us to the fire mountain which is realyy nothing to see, just a small flame burning from the grpund, it's not worth the trip there. Our guide Davud was quite mechanical in explanations, not really knowledgeable and ignorant in many aspects of history and culture. He even answered in a rude manner to questions asked as beeing annoyed. To dum things up: Really worth it: the lada experience Interesting: rock carvings and landscape, lunch and maybe fire temple Booring: all the rest
