They Have such great art of original local artists. Peter the owner is friendly and inviting. And they will definitely take care of you. Especially if you buy in bulk lol. And if you're lucky you might get to meet Mama Africa.

We found everything we needed at the Mama Africa gift shop! Absolutely worth a stop in Moshi. Peter is incredibly helpful and patient, and has a large variety of wonderful souvenirs, pieces of art, gifts, and more. Unique items that we didn't see anywhere else. Thanks Peter for making it so easy to buy gifts for family and friends (and some beautiful items for our home), we hope to be back!

Mama Africa has been much more than just a shop to us, even though it surely is a shop where you can find everything you need. The staff has gone above and beyond to help us get the trip of our lives. If you visit town, visiting Mama Africa is a must and we couldn’t be more grateful for all the memories created there!

Peter (the shop owner) spent most of the day with us and gave us amazing tips what we can and should do around Moshi. He didn't force us to buy anything in his shop, but we ended up buying too much because the things there are so beautiful

It's a beautiful shop where you can find art, jewelry, bags and so on :) all things are made in Tanzania and if you buy something you support a NGO at the same time - win win situation! I ordered 4 custom made paintings and was stoked about the outcomes! Peter, who's the owner of the shop, is a lovely and kind guy who takes time for you and your wishes. He helped me to find the most beautiful pieces for my family and friends (all of them loved their gifts) and moreover he became a very good friend during the 4 months I stayed in Moshi. There are hundreds of shops in Moshi, but this is definitely my favorite. Really sweet staff, a great selection of souvenirs and good prices. The store can be highly recommended.

While staying in Moshi for 3 months we regularly visited Mama Africa. We bought lots of lovely presents for our families here as well as getting recommendations from the friendly staff about things to do in and around Moshi. We also did the sunset bus tour through them, which was a really enjoyable start to our trip.

We went to Mama Africa Gift shop a couple of times while we were staying in Moshi and bought some really beautiful things there which are handmade by local artists. We also spent a good time there talking to the nice staff. The owner of the shop, Peter, is a super nice and fun guy. Mama africa is a must to see when you are in Moshi. When bying products from mama africa you also support local organisations that help less privileged people in the moshi area.

This is a gorgeous shop, the owners are so nice and help worth everything. The price is really good and fair and they sell unique things from selfmade bags, jewelleries and statues of wood to beautiful paintings and other many other things. Even if you have special wishes they try to help you with this. Best shop in town !
