Our tour guide, John, was full of information and had a great sense of humor. We saw so much of the city, learned about hurling, saw beautiful cathedrals, inside as well, saw the oldest pub, and, of course, the castle. Enjoyed it very much. Definitely worth the cost!

This was a great tour. John was very knowledgeable and was flexible enough to answer all my questions! The sites we visited and the history John shared made this our best stop of our trip to Ireland. If you are lucky enough to have John as a guide you are quite a fortunate visitor. Please take this tour. You will not be disappointed.

John was a very informative guide and with the added benefit of a few short local stories. He didn’t rush anything and waited until everyone was ready and answered all questions as much as he could.

John Britton was our tour guide and he was excellent! In the two hour tour we learned so much about Kilkenny history, landmarks like the cathedral, Black Abbey, WW1 memorial, and the hurling statue. We truly enjoyed the experience- thank you John!

When you book a 10am tour on a Tuesday morning, you are taking a chance. This one was a winner. John Britton is a very friendly and proffessional guide. He made the tour interesting and enjoyable while still giving us the history of the sights and the city. Highly recommended.

When you book a tour for a Tuesday morning at 10am in the shoulder season, you can never be sure what you are going to get. I was lucky enough to get John Britton. I booked the tour online along with a friend. It turned out that we were the only two on the tour. Still John did not shortchange anything. We got the full tour and then some. John was very nice and extremely informative. I learned so much about Ireland and Kilkenny on this tour. Highly recommended.

11/10. Would give John 6 stars if possible. Don’t just see Kilkenny get to know it and this is just the guy to do it . Lifelong resident and local historian you will NOT be disappointed!

Wasn’t sure what to expects and was pleasantly surprised. John’s knowledge of the local area and history were fantastic. He had recommendations for additional sight seeing and I would recommend this for anyone visiting the area as a starting point. Ask questions along the way as he is full of great information.

John was a most excellent tour guide. I learned so much about the history of Kilkenny. He is local, born and raised in Kilkenny. Great orientation to Kilkenny. Great way to kick off your visit to this interesting city. John has a great demeanor. Very knowledgeable. He also knew the best spots for photos.

Your enthusiasm was evident but it was great to work with you to showcase the city that you love. Your knowledge and expertise made the city tour truly special. We were so lucky with the weather and the change in plans at the beginning were hardly noticed. I especially enjoyed the visit to the Castle and ending at the Smithwick’s experience was wonderful. Great tour. Fun and informative. Just the right mix of history and anecdote. I would recommend. It doesn’t include the castle although it ends there and to go inside costs €8.
