I had an outstanding 3 days of fishing with Mike the end of September. I fished with a friend who is a much better flyfisher and Mike was able to work with both of us despite our different skill levels. He is a top notch guide, knows the river well, has great gear and will put you on a lot of fish. We did the lower canyon add on 2 of the 3 days. If you want a stand out experience he is your guide. Come prepared for serious fishing.

Third trip to Alaska at the beginning of October 2023 and I did my 6-7 and 8th day of fishing with Mike Adams, a very professional, safe and constant guide and friend, I will definitely return to see him for a fourth trip.

We fished the river with Mike in early October and had a great day. We took our 4 and 5 year old and they had a total blast and Mike was patient and awesome with them. This was a trip of a lifetime. I was fortunate to get the famous Mike Adams who is a true waterman/guide. He arranged for us to have one fly in trip on a cool float plane, 3 days fishing the Kenai (two for salmon with fly rods and one day catch and release for trout) then we finished of our trip with two days of saltwater fishing. Mike is amazing when it comes to responsiveness and teaching. He got us up early (very early) and we were fortunate to limit our everyday. If you are trying to plan your first or second trip to Alaska or are a local and really want to get on the fish Mike is the best.

Mike was an amazing guide. He taught us everything we needed to know to catch our quota of Salmon. Would highly recommend to others.

Mike showed us and our teen boys a great day in a beautiful place! His fishing expertise and friendly demeanor were worth every penny. We each caught a salmon our first time fly fishing. We loved everything about our day on the Kenai River. Mike was very helpful and shared a wealth of knowledge. You can quickly see his love for fishing, the outdoors and sharing that with others. This trip was great for both beginners and those more experienced. My husband and I caught fish all day long. I would have gone just for the views- What a perfect backdrop for fishing.

Mike is a great guide. He knows the river and how to fish it. We went with Mike to do some fly fishing for trout. We caught a number of Dolly Vardens and rainbows. He had excellent fly gear for us to use and the right flies to get the job done. I highly recommend Alaskan Angling and Mike Adams for your next fishing trip on the Upper Kenai.

Mike was an amazing guide and made you feel very welcome and appreciated. Mike adjusted the fishing location for the day, due to his knowledge and experience of the salmon run. The boat ride to his location was enjoyable, with excellent scenery. Mike also new of spots to fish where the salmon were near the shore, but no other people fishing. We caught our limit, which we took home, with some still left in the freezer. A trip that we will not forget.

We spent a full day of salmon fishing on the Upper Kenai. Mike was extremely helpful, patiently teaching us the proper techniques. He knew where the good "holes" were and we saw lots of action throughout the day. We learned a great deal about the forest life cycle and plant life as well. Another highlight was my son spotting a black bear on the shore of the lake and pulling up close for observation. Highly recommend Mike to anyone who wants to experience awesome fishing and beautiful surroundings.

Our group of four had an amazing day fishing with Mike. We did float and bank fishing and tried multiple areas. Scenery is beautiful and the water is turquoise, so bring a camera for lots of eagles and salmon, rainbow trout, and dolly varden pictures. Mike is experienced and very patient in teaching techniques. For the waders, bring warm boot socks for a more comfortable day in early June. We also saw bears and a coyote on the bank. We left early 3:30am for the best fishing and it's light out already. Fewer anglers and well worth it! Great recommendation from Mike! Will definitely book with him again and highly recommend you do too!

I want to say that Mike did an awesome job accommodating my family this past summer (late July 2020). He was very knowledgeable and helped us all experience the thrill of hooking the salmon! I fished with Mike back in July and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Alaska. Mike is super knowledgeable about the ever changing conditions on the Kenai. He was a true professional and it was a joy to fish with him. I left the drift boat that day with sore arms and a camera filled with pictures of massive Dollys, Rainbows, and Sockeye. I highly recommend fishing with Mike and look forward to booking another trip in the future.

My husband and I had a great day fishing on the upper Kenai with Mike. We had already been one day earlier in the week with a different group and wanted to go back. Luckily Mike had availability on short notice. He took us to a different part of the river so we could see some different scenery and also catered to the type of fishing we wanted to do (fly fishing for silver salmon, trout, and dolly). We got lucky and both caught silvers. Mike was great about stopping to take pictures for us when we had a picture-worthy fish, he had hot chocolate when I was really cold from wading, and overall he was super knowledgeable. I am newer to fly fishing but I felt comfortable with Mike. He kindly taught me some new mending techniques and casting styles. At the end of the day we had to traverse Kenai Lake and as a highlight got to see four black bears along the bank! It was so cool. Mike took us over to them. The whole day never felt rushed at all. If we ever get to come back we’ll definitely book with Mike again.
