We enjoyed our day trip to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar tremendously. We had low expectations, given that we were the only English speakers on a tour with Portugese speakers. Rodrigo assured us that he could handle the duality, and he did it masterfully! We were very impressed by not only his care in providing all the information in both languages, but also in taking pictures, providing suggestions for other activities, ensuring an allergy was recognized during lunch. Valparaiso and Vina del Mar share a bay, but are so very different; seeing the contrast was stunning. There were many moments we will treasure, but the highlight was seeing the Moai from Rapa Nui. We have fabulous memories from our day on the tour; we are so pleased we did it, and would certainly recommend it.

The trip we signed up for said it would be an English tour. Our group was mix of spanish and english speaking people. The tour guide knew both languages but sometimes forgot to include the english speaking guests in conversations or details at a spot unless we spoke up. We also didn't get enough time to buy trinkets at stops. It was very "move onto the next stop." The place we stopped for lunch didn't have enough seating for the full tour group and we were left on our own to figure things out at restaurant. Maybe reservations hadn't been made ahead of time that we were coming?

This was an awful experience, which fortunately only lasted until we finally, after a very long and grueling bus ride, got to Valparaiso, As soon as could finally get off the bus at our destination, we ditched the group and explored Valparaiso and Vina del Mar on our own. The reason we explored on our own is because it took a full 4 hours to get to Valparaiso, and I didn't want to spend nearly the entire day on a small and cramped bus (with less legroom than on an airplane seat in economy). On the way to Valparaiso, which again took 4 hours, the bus drove around and around the city picking up other tourists. I understand there are other tourists that have to be picked up, but it took nearly 2 hours to even get out of the city after I was picked up. And it that wasn't bad enough, there was a lengthy intermediate stop for breakfast, with extremely limited food options. I might have overlooked the very long time we spent on the bus (did I mention that it took 4 hours to reach our destination?), had the tour guide been knowledgeable, but she was not. Everything she told us (which was not much) you could find on Wikipedia. Finally, Smart Tour did a very poor job of communicating with us.

Was really excited as a couple to head to Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar for a day tour. It was so bad during the first 4 hours that we told the tour guide we would be on our own for the rest of the day, which was honestly the best decision we made that day. For context, have done several other day trip guided tours in multiple countries and this was by far the worst. First off: Poor communications (no transparency and lack of proactiveness). I messaged the tour company multiple times the 1-2 days leading up to the trip to get an ETA of pick-up. The itinerary is so vague - is it pick-up as early as 6:30 AM or as late as 9 AM? I did finally hear from someone at past 10 PM the day before saying they would pick us up around 7 AM (what a generous heads-up). They kept claiming they could not reach me, but I provided two separate cell phone numbers. I've done other day tours where they would reach out (through Tripadvisor or WhatsApp, if needed) and provide a rough ETA (e.g., we will arrive at 8:30 AM +/- 10 minutes). Second: Logistics. I understand that for full day tours they do pick-ups / drop-offs. What I didn't expect was that it would take a full 2 hours to pick-up everyone. Keep in mind, a drive to Valaparaiso from Santiago in base traffic takes less than 2 hrs; so we would've essentially already arrived there. The "breakfast" stop in Casablanca was totally not worth it. We were there for about 35 minutes. Think of the stop as a mini flea market in the middle of nowhere and trying to rip you off with 4500 CLP filtered coffee (~5 USD). All in all, it took roughly 4 hours from my pick-up to get to Valparaiso. We managed to get back to Santiago on our own via Flixbus, and there are actually many other bus providers from the Viña del Mar bus depot and they drop off in 2 locations in Santiago: Pajaritos Line 1 stop or Estacio Central Line 1 stop. The price of the tickets booked that day was roughly ~7 USD per person (a fraction of the cost of the tour) and took 1h 30 minutes to get from Viña del Mar to Pajaritos. The Flixbus which was a real charter bus was 10x more comfortable than the tour van provided by the tour company (the seats on the tour company's van was smaller than any airplane seat I've sat on). Several recommendations to tour company: - be more transparent about itinerary and estimated timing - be more proactive about communications (the customer shouldn't have to reach out multiple times) - optimize logistics/pick-ups so it doesn't take 2 hours for pick-ups (and probably just as long for drop-offs)

The first stop at the vineyard was a bust. We just stopped in a giant enclosure where they have wine tasting, and sell wines (at the same price you can get them for elsewhere). It had passable breakfast. The visit to Valparaiso was outstanding. The initial ride through the city was underwhelming, given the traffic in the old town. However, the walking tour after taking the funicular was really nice. The city clearly takes care of maintaining a different world charm to the core of the city. Our tour guide, Sofia, was really awesome. She knows the place well, and is passionate about putting the best face of this part of the country forward to the guests. The driver, Antonio, was also pretty knowledgeable. He kept everyone's spirits up joining in every song that he played on the audio system. He is a little bit of a cowboy with driving, but gets from point A to point B really quick. After Valparaiso, we moved on to Vina Del Mar, a really, really pretty and well laid out city. The tour ends with lunch at a really nice location overlooking the ocean. The guides threw in a last minute stop to look at the sea lions. You really get to see them up close and personal, which really was a nice touch.

Communication via what's app let us know what time we were to be picked up, which was excellent. We went first to a wine tasting tourist stop with bathrooms, souvenirs, food, etc. Then, onto Valparaiso. Fantastic city to visit, full of amazing art / graffiti and quaint streets. Then on to Vino del Mar where we had lunch at a very nice Seafood restaurant. Being a vegetarian, there were only a couple of options, such as fries or salad. Then, we stopped briefly at the beach and at an Easter Moai statue before heading home. All as promised. Due to traffic, we did not get home til 7pm tho so it was a much longer trip than we had thought. The guide did speak English, but it was hard to hear him in the van as he had no microphone.

I was visiting Chile from the US and booked this trip through TripAdvidor. They answered promptly to questions before the trip and kept everyone informed until the end. The guide Alejandro was very knowledgeable and upbeat, he made the trip very enjoyable. The driver Juan Pablo was very courteous and did a good job with driving, and keeping everyone safe and comfortable. We stopped for lunch in Villa Del Mar and de food was absolutely delicious.

Very satisfied with a tour. Salvador was our tour guy and he is great, knowledgeable and smart. He was switching from one language to another quick and easy using three languages. Very well organized from beginning to the end. I was traveling with my two kids ( 3 and 6 years old) and it went smooth and nice. Nickolas (driver) kept us safe. I would recommend.

Full day tour and includes a lot of history. The drive to the coast is about an hour and a half. The walking tour in Valparaiso was great and not difficult. Vina Del Mar was nice to see the beach. It’s a good day trip from Santiago.

When booking this tour you will be asked what your language is so that you can be placed with the proper tour guide. The company did not properly place us with the appropriate tour guide. We basically were on a tour all day with a guide who could barely speak our language. The guide apologized and did his best to communicate with us. He even had a guide from another tour talk with us in English for about 10 mins just to inform us of some of the information. This we really appreciated. During this time, we were informed we would be fully refunded for this tour due to the issue. Today, I have been informed that I am being refunded 1/3 of the price we paid for the tour. At this point, this company does not prove to be trustworthy or a company of integrity. I would recommended choosing another vendor for this tour!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon. This was such a fun tour. Our guide, Jose, had a lot of knowledge, and provided great conversation! He did such a great job translating in 3 languages (Portuguese, English, and Spanish). We were able to get on the boat tour, although cold, it was awesome. Everyone on the tour was so friendly, which made for a great trip. The locals were amazing, we even bought some jewelry at one of the stops. There are so many murals/beautiful street art, get ready to take so many photos!

Very little tour information was shared during the trip. Late all the time, very unprofessional, total waste time and money. Waste trip ever

We had construction in front of our hotel, and I knew the bus could not come to us. It was a little difficult with communication and figuring that out, but they came and got us by foot. That was very nice. Our guide was very friendly and easy to understand. We were off season though and I think that made a difference. The restaurant we were instructed to eat at was good. I think I’d have rather found something on my own. Breakfast was much better for a fraction of the price!! Everyone at the restaurant was very friendly and it was nice, I just would have preferred something else. I’d have liked to have more time to explore on my own I guess. And the only “free time” was on the beach where there wasn’t much to do. As I said, it was off season. Everything was closed. The highlight to me was the boat ride. We were lucky enough to get up close to some beautiful sea lions! I loved that. But it’s not always available. Overall, interesting and enjoyable. But I think it might have been more so during summer.

Rodrigo and Ricardo were our hosts for the day. It was a great trip, firstly to Valparaiso where we learned about Pablo Neruda, saw his statue and house, saw lots of awesome street art and murals, and learned all about the area. The boat trip was fun, we saw sea lions :) then to Vina del Mar where we had a delicious lunch. The whole day was great, Rodrigo seamlessly switched from speaking Spanish/Portuguese to English - it was very impressive. He was very knowledgeable and passionate. The drive from Ricardo was very smooth.
