The views were absolutely stunning. The guide Brandon was informative, very helpful and patient. I have never fly fished before and he was able to teach me quickly enough that I was catching fish in no time. I had a blast and booked another trip for next year already. August 29, 2022 The float fly fishing trip with Matt, our guide, was amazing! About 2 hours into the trip I stopped counting at 17 on Rainbows and Dollies. Matt is a expert guide on trout, and put use on fish all day. Already got another trip planned with him. I've been fishing my whole life, and this day goes down in the top 3. Thank Matt see ya soon. Unspoiled wilderness and Rainbows, lots of them! I have fished for rainbows at both of our earth's poles. Bristol Bay and the Kenai Peninsula has the best biology for rainbow that follow the salmon runs in Alaska. It is not necessary to always flyout for a world class fishing experience. JJ Brown and the Kenai Trout River Anglers fit the bill for me. He is also a local Cooper Landing resident and is more in touch with the environment for fulfilling your fishing adventure experience. Matt was our guide and he was great! Very knowledgeable about the area, put us on great fishing and was clearly respectful of the land. He had a great sense of humor and was enjoyable to spend the day with. The water was higher than normal but he kept us safe and took us to the best places to catch Dolly’s and rainbows. The fish we caught were beautiful!

Came to the Kenai with friends and no fly fishing experience. Both JJ and Matt made the trip epic for a first timer. I learned and caught big fish at the same time. We had great laughs and really enjoyed the time on the river. I totally recommend booking with Kenai River Trout Anglers.

Matt was a great guide, and we had a great time along the Kenai. Whilst we didnt catch that much, we still were able to snag a couple of small trouts. The scenery along the Kenai is stunning, and the boat ride itself was fun and we really enjoyed our day out.

We had a great time trout fishing with JJ. It is a beautiful section of river. It was slow start but JJ was able to put us on fish. We lost count of the number of fish caught. Gear and instruction were good. We fished from the boat and the banks. It was a great day. Highly recommend!

I recently had an absolute amazing experience with Matt who works with JJ at Kenai river trout anglers. My family had the most amazing trip fishing the kenai. Such a beautiful river and just as we started to lose hope….bang….bang…the fish started hitting our lines. Our guide, Matt, was top notch. Relentlessly looking to be sure we had dinner for the night. Best day on our Alaskan adventure.

My family and I fished with Kenai River Anglers today and we could not be happier. The guide was very knowledgeable, had equipment in good condition and got us on fish. We caught a lot of really nice fish and had even more hook ups. I can't speak any better of JJ. All of this and the most beautiful scenery I've ever fished around. I would recommend this outfit to anyone.

JJ Brown is the real deal when it comes to a fishing guide in Alaska - specifically the Kenai river. He knows the exact spots to fish for sockeye and my 3 boys caught their limit which was thrilling for them. In fact, THIS was the highlight of their 2 week trip in Alaska. He provided just the right amount of fly fishing instruction when necessary (i.e. when my third son hadn't caught any fish) and gave us great information in advance in terms of what to bring, what to wear and suggested we start earlier than we originally intended to nab the prime fishing spot! He also gave me great tips on what to do/where to go while the boys were fishing and did an outstanding job filleting our fish. My boys spend the majority of their time wading/casting in the cold Kenai river which was so cold their toes were numb, but the memory of catching sockeye salmon will be something they will remember forever! We highly recommend JJ Brown as a fishing guide.

What a great day! JJ Brown was an excellent guide and we highly recommend booking a day-long adventure fishing on the Kenai.. Even with fishing experience, there was a lot to learn, and JJ took the time to not only instruct us at the beginning, but coach with helpful tips as the day and the fishing progressed. We were really glad we booked a whole day, as the experience was that much fuller. This was a true highlight of our trip and we look forward to returning!

We had a great day on the river with Matt. My husband and I are just learning to fly fish but have only waded until our trip down the Kenai. Fishing from a drift boat is definitely a little different but once we got the hang of it, it was great. We tried to avoid the zombie Sockeye (since they had just spawned) and were able to land some hefty dolly varden and rainbow trout. Also got some pink salmon, white fish, Montana bonefish. Matt was patient with us and taught us some new skills! We loved it so much that we want to go back again before we leave Alaska if we can make it happen. Would highly recommend this company as they are personable, professional, and super helpful to customers.
