Aaron was amazingly knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. We had an excellent time fishing and each caught the dream fish we were hoping to catch.

My husband and I fish a lot on the Texas coast and always catch and release. We had scheduled a full-day charter with CLFG months before our July trip. It wasn't until after we arrived in Alaska that we learned salmon aren't fished but foul-hooked in the rivers. We saw numerous salmon at the Kenai weir with injuries and lures stuck in their backs and tails. We found it very troubling. When we met Aaron, our CLFG guide, we told him that we don't want to keep any fish, that we catch and release. He immediately changed the fishing plans he had for us to accommodate our request. Instead of trying to foul-hook the fish, he said he wanted to take us to a part of the Kasilof River where we would have the entire stretch of river to ourselves. He said he had been trying to convince people that salmon will bite a lure and that there is no need to foul-hook the fish. He was right! Aaron took us to a beautiful stretch of river where we didn't see another boat the entire day. He set us up with two rigs and lures, and then we trolled with Aaron rowing the boat. Pretty soon, my husband got a strike. We caught five salmon total. But more importantly, we had the peace and quiet of nature and the satisfaction of knowing we hadn't killed or injured any of Alaska's natural resource. We couldn't have been happier. Aaron values life. If you want the challenge of fishing instead of foul-hooking, ask for Aaron. He knows how to catch salmon without maiming them.

The beautiful scenery and the fish we caught Aaron I guide was very helpful. My Aunt is 90 yrs. young and she even snagged a sockeye.

This Company has got it going on. From Dave at the main shop and Mike and Arron floating the boats downstream it couldn’t have been better. We booked a family salmon fishing trip for 6 of us Mike was our guide and wow what a guide he was. We limited out on sockeye salmon and had one of the best guided fishing trips I’ve ever been on. Mike was the best and helped and coached us the entire trip. He went out of his way to help all the family members catch fish. You will not be disappointed if you book this trip !! Thanks Mike !! We had a great day with Aaron. Landed several huge rainbows. River was blown out and tricky but he still got us in position. Knows his stuff. Very safe. Good oarsman. Great guy! Booking with Dave was easy. Very accommodating.

My brother and I thought we would take our 21-year-old sons fishing in Alaska like we did with our dad 23 years ago. We had a blast and caught a lot of fish because of Aaron. Very knowledgeable and loved his stories. He has a specific technique for fishing that worked great for us. We liked our fill day fishing so much we changed our 1/2 day to a full day with no problem. Amazing experience. We caught 4 King Salmon and one huge Steele Head. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed being with Brian for the day. He made the experience great. He found us all of the best spots. We were pulling fish out when hardly anybody one else was. We are team Brian all the way.

Aaron is hilarious and has super entertaining Alaskan fishing stories from his many years of experience. Many of the boats from other guide companies on the river sat in silence in the cold while our good times never ceased. Although fishing was a little slow, due to it being so early in the salmon season, he set us up to have the best success possible to catch fish and we had so much fun that it didn’t matter how many fish we caught. He is extremely knowledgeable about local fishing holes, bait, and especially moose bones! We will definitely be repeat customers of Aaron, be sure to request him!!!

I will start with the positive. Our guide, Aaron was awesome. Aaron gave great advice and put us on fish. The bite was a little off that day but not from a lack of Aaron’s abilities. We didn’t see anyone catching that many. Dissatisfaction came from Dave (owner) and coopers landing guide services. Dave contacted me on Saturday to discuss what fish we wanted to target and general things like wader and boot sizes. I specifically told Dave we wanted to target silver salmon and trout, that was why we chose the combo full day trip. My entire reason for booking the fishing trip was silver salmon. On Monday (our trip day) at 9:30 I was told they don’t allow harvest of silver salmon on the kenai river on mondays. We would not target or harvest silvers on that day. Instead we targeted trout only. Dave had ample opportunity to inform and clarify this on Saturday. Saturday was 48 hrs prior to my trip, they allow 24 hr cancellation. Had I known that silver salmon was not an option I would have rescheduled or canceled. I came to Alaska to catch and take home silver salmon and paid for a trip to do so. I caught trout and released everyone. It was also made clear during the trip that they didn’t like the “L” word…. Limit….. too many people come to Alaska, never fished for salmon and expect a “limit”. If you want to come to Alaska and have someone knowledgeable paddle you down the river and have an idea of where fish usually are, but aren’t concerned with keeping fish…. Coopers landing is your place. I won’t be back

Was first time in Alaska and have to say Dave and his crew (Aaron,Brian and Jeff) made this the best fishing trip I have ever had. Most of my fishing was with Aaron as are guide and I have to say he made us feel right at home and we had a lot of laughs and caught a ton of fish. The whole group i was with had nothing but great things to say about all the guides . Dave runs a A+++ outfit

I Went with Mike from Cooper Landing Fishing Guide on a full day Kenai River trip. It was a phenomenal day of fly fishing. Mike made it fun and educational. We spent the first half hour helping me get the hang of bead fishing and getting a good hook set on the fish. By 10 AM I lost count of how many fish we had caught. We caught rainbows, dollies, silvers, and couldn’t help but catch a few reds. Mike changed color and size and weight on the beads to make sure we were using the most productive set up possible. To the point other guides on the river were asking what we were using. When we broke off on a fish Mike was handing me another rod to keep me fishing while he retied the other. I left with some great photos and a filleted silver for dinner. Thanks Mike and Cooper Landing Fishing Guide for a memorable day. I look forward to fishing with you again soon.

We fished the Kasilof river with our guide Brian. He met us here we were going to put the boat in the river with our waders ready to go. As we floated down to his favorite fishing spot he explained to us how we going to fish for silvers. He’s explanations were great and super helpful and a great guy to hang out with on the river. We had our limit in about 3 hours. I would so go out again with Brian.

We came to Alaska 9 years ago and we wanted to experience a great fishing day again. It did not disappoint. Dave worked around all the covid crap, held our trip for a full year and worked around our new trip. Mike was super friendly and got us on fish. We were excited to have an outstanding fishing trip. Highly recommend.
