This was the highlight of our trip so far. Susan was very welcoming and her colleague Ken was an excellent tour guide. We did the home stay and two half day tours. I’ve travelled Asia a lot and haven’t ever had the up close experiences we did on this trip. Highly recommend!!

We actually did this as two half days plus a homestay, which I highly recommend. Either way, Susan does a stellar job of giving one a glimpse of local culture in a way that feels respectful and real. It was a well organized visit that included a lot of different experiences, including bike riding, visits to a local market, helping with dinner, floating market, sampling lots of food and drinks. Plus more. The guides for both days were both so fun and informative. Really can’t say enough positive things. It was the first outing of our Vietnam trip and set the bar very high.

We spent three days with Sue and were able to gather many wonderful impressions of the Mekong Delta. The accommodation is clean and functional. Sue cooked us delicious meals and also gave us a small cookery course. During our stay we had a very friendly personal guide who showed us around the Mekong Delta and provided us with lots of interesting information. We were also able to taste lots of fruit on our excursions and learn about the production of local specialities. Thank you very much for the wonderful time!

Our visit with Susan was a highlight in our first trip to Vietnam. After the busy city it was wonderful to experience the countryside and the hospitality of Susan and her brother Nick. There was bike riding, fresh produce, fresh air, floating markets, the mighty Mekong and so much more. Loved every minute!

Susan was amazing! She was positive and happy and showed us the authentic Vietnamese culture and way of living. Each day was jam packed with activities. We cycled around her home town and her brother, Nick, took us to rice paddocks, temples, the food markets and a sunset spot. Susan showed us how to cook authentic Vietnamese foods. We saw the floating markets, noodle factory, cocoa farm and fruit farm. It was a really great tour and I really enjoyed myself.

Authentic rural homestay experience. Delicious food we would never would have tried if not for Susan and Nick. We loved bike riding the local area visiting a beautiful Khmer Pagoda and chatting with the monks. A highlight was our early morning run to Floating markets. Most other tourists on big cumbersome vessels, but with Nick we were able to scoot in and out and have an up close and personal experience enjoying the early morning banter of the locals. Breakfast was DELICIOUS. We enjoyed all our tours and learned so much. We were not surrounded by other tourists or pressured at any time for anything. We found Susan and Nick generous and forthcoming with information and discussions on local life. If you want to experience the Mekong Delta from a grass roots level this is for you. Susan also helped us to organise our bus transfer to Saigon, she made it so easy!

My family (six people) stayed with Susan at her home for one night, and did activities across two days. We experienced so much during these two days, and it is definitely the highlight of our Vietnam trip. The first day we spent cycling in the local area to see local life and markets, and visited a Khmer temple. The second day we spent in a little boat visiting the Cai Rang floating markets, a cacao farm, a rice noodle factory, and other places. We also cooked with Susan and her family on the night that we stayed, where we got to learn some Vietnamese recipes and techniques. The whole experience was amazing, but I'd like to give a special shout out to Susan herself. Susan is an amazing host, making us feel so welcome. Prior to our trip, Susan was very helpful via WhatsApp to organise our trips and dates. She made sure we had sorted appropriate transport to and from Can Tho, and she was quick to offer guidance. During the homestay, she offered supreme hospitality and care, alongside her brother Nick, and it made for a very comfortable and fun stay. After Susan dropped us back to Can Tho, we had organised a private transfer to bring us back to Ho Chi Minh, but there was an issue on the day and we were stuck in Can Tho. The person that organised our private transfer said his company had no other vehicles available on account of it being New Year's Eve, and that they were all booked out. I rang Susan to see if she had any contacts for bus companies. Not only did she have a contact, but she also organised and booked a bus to come pick us up within half an hour of us calling her. We are incredibly grateful to Susan for her quick action and kindness, in helping us during her own free time. I would highly recommend that you contact Susan as part of your Vietnam trip. Susan was a great host. The trip on the Mekong was educational and we got to visit both the noodle factory and the chocolate cacao factory. The experience on the floating market was a great novelty and Susan would explain what the various boats were selling using their unique identification system. In summary I would recommend this tour for people who want a unique authentic experience on the Mekong delta.

I booked a 2d/1n tour with Susan due all the good reviews on Facebook. Before the booking I contacted her on FB messenger ans she replied almost immediatly with detailed information. She wrote me which Futa bus to take and how and where and at what time. When I arrived at Can Tho I was greeted by her driver. Due the language barrier at the bus station I accidentally took a bus an half hour too early, so we had to wait for the other people who were going to do the 2d/1n homestay. It turned out to be a lovely and funny Australian couple with their 6yr old daughter. At the homestay we where greeted by Susan’s younger brother Nick. He showed us our rooms and start to prepare lunch. (I am vegan and that was no problem.) The room was basic, to local Vietnamese standards, incl a private bathroom. And if you stay with the locals you get a hard mattress, but I slept like a baby. The homestay is located in a private and very quiet area with bamboo, plants and self grown vegetables. After our delicious lunch with too much food, we met Susan, a very lovely young lady in her 30ies, with very good English skills and lots of humor. Next, the plan was to go on a bike ride. But the morning sun had already turned into a little monsoon, so we planned to wait. After 2 hours we decided to just go, poncho on. It still poured, but it was warm and the 10km bike ride was actually fun and a little bit more adventurous due the rain and mud. We rode through rice fields, local towns, saw locals drinking beer at their home while singing karaoke (the worst singing I’ve heard in my life), visited a nice Temple and before we headed back to the homestay we visited a local market. Next to fruit, shoes and shopsticks, they also sold live fish, frogs and other creatures. We only bought vegetables (and tofu 😁) and had a nice sugar cane drink. We helped making dinner (which was yummie) and went to bed at 8:30 pm. The next morning the driver picked us up at 5:30 and dropped us off at a local shop in the city center where our bagage was safely stored. We walked to another local market next to the river, where we bought some fruit before boarding our little boat. In the next 5 hrs we navigated to the floating market where we bought breakfast incl coffee and tea and visited a local coconut—, noodle- and cacao farm while floating into smaller waters It was such a nice experience and did not fell touristic. After lunch we took the Futa (sleeper) bus back, Susan booked them for us, and I had a nice 1hr sleep, dreaming about the passed days…

A lovely 2 day, 1 night stay with Susan and her family. We feel as if we experienced the true Vietnam. We cycled around the countryside with Susan learning about all the different crops and fruits (even trying some) before buying ingredients at the market for dinner. After relax time we met and played with Kym (Susan’s lovely daughter) while making our dinner the traditional way, learning a lot about their history and techniques. In the morning we were off for breakfast in the floating market before visiting local businesses to learn about nice noodles, chocolate and sweet shop. A really enjoyable stay with a lovely and caring host. Well worth the visit!

A friend recommended Susan‘s tour to me, and I am so glad she did. I booked the 2d1n stay with Susan, and had a great time. The highlights for me were the cooking class, where she took us step by step through preparing a full meal, and of course the floating market. A wonderfully delivered experience, though and through.

I highly, highly, highly recommend the homestay plus the tour Susan offers. I felt the schedule was perfectly balanced. All the guides were unbelievably knowledgeable and spoke good English. Also, the trip was individually tailored because Susan and I went by ourselves on the 2nd day. The night in the homestay was comfortable. (Such a huge bed with mosquito net). I am more than satisfied with everything.

Susan is an amazing host , I took a two day tour spending one night at Susan’s family’s home, room comfortably with fridge full of cold beer and water. Beds have mosquito nets. surrounded by nature and very peaceful . Hammocks for relaxing on day one and you can go to the end of the road and watch sunset over the fields . Day one was cycling around the local village looking at local farms visited a Khmer Buddhist temple , plus to a local food market to buy food for our evening dinner which we all prepared together. Amazing dinner . Day two up early 5am off to the floating market for breakfast (watch out for the floating Starbucks) after we cruised the small canals and visited cacao farm , noodle house , and fruit farms , so expect to eat lots of food and fruit . It all finishers around 1pm and off for lunch . Both Susan and nick are very knowledgeable just fantastic ,Susan took care of everything food ,transport, breakfast ,lunch, tours the lot . Highly highly recommended.

Wow! What a wonderful experience! We did an overnight homestay with Susan. Day 1 was a bike ride through the country side to a Khmer temple, incense factory, market to shop for supper and other stops too. That evening we all helped make supper. The room was lovely with a shower and AC. The next morning we left at 5:30am for the floating market. We got in a fantail boat and we went to different boats to get breakfast and coffee. The rest of the.morning we also travelled by boat...to a noodle factory, cacao farm, dragon fruit farm, and then for lunch. Susan was so organized! She reserved our buses back to Saigon, gave us instructions to show bus drivers, etc She is a delightful person with a great sense of humor and she shared a lot of cultural knowledge. We highly recommend this tour...it was one of the best we've taken in all our travels
