The trip was great. Our tour guide Michael speak fluent english & did a fantastic job at giving us the tour around the castle.

Michael was an excellent tour guide and full of historical facts and stories. Very entertaining! The group was small (9 people) and well organized with free time for lunch and shopping.

Tour of the castle was impressive and certainly shows the strength of people in that time, the old town exactly how you would expect it to be. Had a lovely lunch in one ot the restaurants. Stephan our driver was a very nice guy.

Michael’s knowledge is beyond impressive. So much history provided on this tour. Would, highly, recommend this excursion if you’re interested in the history behind the Heidelberg Castle and the City of Frankfurt Thanks Michael and Stefan’s (excellent driver)

The tour was amazing, the tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. The site was beautiful, the tour guide is very driven to give you information.

Michael was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were in 2 groups of 6 which worked quite well. The itinerary was very well planned. We had a great time!

Great tour. You can tell the host is passionate and enjoys sharing the history with his guests. Short sprinter drive about an hourish from Frankfurt to tour the castle and then a hourish in thr town to explore. Solid half day trip, very satisfied and plenty of worthy pictures.

Great time with Micheal. He had lots of information and history to tell us. He was very kind and spoke English very well. He did Not rush us and gave very interesting information at the castle. Highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic day trip led by a brilliant guide Michael. He was so knowledgeable, had a great energy. There was room to ask questions, which were answered with great enthusiasm. He gave us a lot of interesting information, both in the castle and peripheral information during the ride between the destinations. Highly recommend taking a guided tour as a great way to cover good ground in a day and take some of the hassle out of seeing several wonderful sites in a day. Definitely worth doing van transportation as it made it easy to get in and out at all the stops with a small group. Thank you Michael👋

I've seen a lot of the reviews comment on Michael being informative and knowledgeable, and while I agree, this is misleading. He talked non-stop giving an extremely detailed and rambling account of the history with no consideration for the audience trapped in his vehicle. He would then expect you to retain all of this information as he quizzed you on details throughout the tour. He had a disregard for other tourists and would often stop our group in high traffic photo areas just to continue talking. He left little to no time for us to take pictures and would frequently call us out by name when he noticed us taking pictures and not listening with rapt attention. The vehicle was spacious and comfortable, but Michael's driving was distracted at best - he often pulled out his phone to show us pictures while driving on the highway. We had very little time to spend in Heidelberg after seeing the castle, and even still Michael kept us in the van for some of this time showing us pictures on his phone. Lastly, Michael started our tour off asking for five star ratings (we literally hadn't even made it on the main road yet) and told us stories about the folks who gave less than 5 stars, so I can't imagine how many future patrons will hear about me. This outing was beautiful but unless you are looking for an in depth history of the architecture, skip this tour and do-it-yourself.

Our guide Gunter was great. He has so much knowledge of the area & ensured we all had a great tour. The vehicle was so clean & tidy & the tour very prompt. Highly recommended.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the region. He talked and talked and talked about the history of the region from BC to current day! The town of Heidelberg is so beautiful, but the castle is still being renovated and so had much scaffolding around it and areas that were closed. It was still a wonderful experience and I'm glad I went! We were given the opportunity to go into town on our own for lunch which was great and we had lots of photo ops.

This was a great tour! Heidelberg castle was so interesting and the town was so picturesque. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable.

Michael was our guide and he is wonderful! We booked very last minute and as it turned out, only my wife and I were on this tour. Many tours may have cancelled due to not enough people, but we are so happy Michael kept our tour for us! As soon as we were in the van, he asked us how much history we’d like to hear. We love hearing it all so we said we’d love to hear all he can share. All the way to Heidelberg, Michael shared with us his knowledge of the history of this area and Germany as a country. He truly has a passion for what he does and it shows. The castle, grounds, museums etc are all amazing and the views of the city and river below have to be seen, pictures don’t do it justice. We were very lucky to have the sun come out just in time for us! After departing the castle, we had about an hour or so in the downtown area of Heidelberg. We had a snack and a beer and then walked a bit thru the very quaint town. The drive home was spent more getting to know Michael on a personal side (his family, past, etc). We take tours all over the world and I’d put Michael on a list with the best guides we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Michael, thank you for sharing your love of history with us and giving us more great memories of our travels!

Michel was the guide on this tour. Michael was very knowledgeabled and informative on the history of Heidelberg, The Castle and Germany! He is an interesting conversationalist, it was a pleasure to discuss several subjects and history during the hour-long journey each way.

Very informational drive up, learned a lot of the history of the castle and how it was rebuilt. Got to see the city as well and were recommended an amazing lunch restaurant. 10/10

Our tour guide was so kind and informational! We learned a lot and saw beautiful sites. He helped us take great pictures with each other and danced in the rain with us. Highly recommend.

The ride to Heidelberg in the van was great, much better than being in a bus. It was interesting to learn about the history and architecture of Frankfurt and Heidelberg as we drove there. The castle and grounds were great and the apothecary museum was very interesting. I was disappointed that the tour didn’t include admission into the castle itself. Heidelberg’s old town was very charming!
