Our tour guide Rocky was fun, personable and loved sharing the cousine and culture of Bangladesh with new people. This review is long overdue. I traveled to Dhaka in February 2023 as a solo female traveler. I booked couple of different tours with different guides but the one with Rocky was my absolutely favorite one. I booked a food tour and omg was that an experience! Firstly I absolutely loved all the food he introduced me to and I don’t say that lightly because I don’t eat just to survive I eat to live my life to the fullest ☺️ Secondly spending time with Rocky was very pleasant. He is fluent in English and he is a very smart, kind and friendly person to be around. Very considerate. He also cares very much about the future of tourism in Bangladesh and wants to make a difference and that’s very impressive.

The tour allowed me to get a glimpse of the real Dhaka, snap plenty of photos and also taste lots of authentic local delights. Rocky was an excellent guide who made sure I was well taken care of. He also answered all my questions :) I highly recommend this tour!

This was the first thing I did when I arrived in Dhaka and was the best start to my trip! Rocky is brilliant. He’s super knowledgeable and passionate about all things food, he’s also brilliant company. We tried so much food and met some great people in the packed streets of Old Dhaka. This isn’t just a food tour, it’s also a glimpse into the beating heart of Dhaka and the people that call it home. The food itself was delicious. Rocky has spent a lot of time researching the best places and we went from place to place trying some great dishes - Haleem at the University of Dhaka was the highlight for me!

Whether it was having a betel leaf filled with nuts and sweets lit on fire and then plopped into my mouth, or having some zesty and incredible jhalmuri from a newspaper cone or freshly baked pitha, it was thrilling to try new flavors while learning about how different culinary trends emerged in Dhaka. The tour was educational, entertaining, and I walked away feeling as though I made a friend and was much more proximate to the city of Dhaka -- and its gorgeous food. Rocky is a gem. I enthusiastically recommend his tour and service to anyone looking to have a highly immersive, intentionally tailored, and overall deeply enriching experience of Dhaka. We spent 4 hours on a food tour, walking and talking -- and eating -- while Rocky took us to some of the most delicious and authentic local spots. Each place became its own little chapter in Dhaka's colorful history and present, and Rocky infused learnings about the food, locals, the geography, climate, society, and so much more about Bangladesh. Overall -- this is a highly rewarding tour, and if I had more time, I would have been lucky enough to take Rocky's other tours to continue the learning adventures he so thoughtfully crafts. You will be very glad you did this.

Rocky is a good english speaker, knows culinary culture very well and is trustworthy. I recommend his services if you come to Bangladesh

Rocky met us at the university of Dhaka with a smile! We tried some incredible street food in the grounds of the university, bustling with students we knew it was a great place! We took bike rickshaws around the city stopping at lots of famous restaurants!! We felt at ease instantly with rocky and be really listened to what we liked and were interested in trying 😁

So glad I did it, Rocky was exceptional and I would have missed all the best spots without him. He listed to everything I said and catered the tour to me. Would highly recommend.

I took a food tour with Rocky from Cholo Bangladesh and it was an incredible experience. He made navigating the packed and busy streets of Dhaka quite easy and we made our way between the University of Dhaka and Old Dhaka to several spots to eat. The selection of food was a good blend of somewhat familiar dishes done in a Bengali style and completely novel and unexpected items. Great for adventurous eaters, but Rocky will also make the lineup of food fit for the visitor's liking.

This was an unforgettable experience. Rocky, the tour guide (& owner of the company) reached out via WhatsApp & customized the tour since it was private. We went to Dhaka University and tried a few things there. He described the ingredients & spelled the names of all the foods. After the first few items, we got in a rickshaw & went to old Dhaka, which was incredible! The crowds & rickshaws & traffic…I was immersed in the sights, sounds, aromas, flavors yet felt 100% safe with Rocky leading me to various places. There were about 10 different things to try & I learned a lot about the culture by tasting the food.

This was a great tour. My guide Rocky picked me up at my hotel and had the tour running seamlessly. Walking through the bustling centre of old Dhaka eating all the delicious Bengali specialties was a unique experience you can’t find anywhere else. Highly recommend.

This was a fantastically authentic and local tour of Old Dhaka. I booked a hotel pick-up and the guide, Itman, and driver arrived on time and were very polite. The tour itself used the local rickshaw as our primary means of transportation, which was adventurous and exciting to wind in and out of Dhaka's roads! The food was fantatsic, ranging from local snacks found inside the Dhaka Univerdity Campus, to traditional Biryani at one of the most famous stores. Itman and Mohammad were fantastic guides and spending the day with them was more like spending time with friends. They were great company as well as being very knowledgeable. Before the tour ended I met the Company's director, Rocky, who was very helpful in organising this tour for me. He joined us for a boat ride on the river, which they inlcuded especially for me as I had shown interest in this. This kind of flexibility was wonderful! I really recommend this tour for anyone looking to experience authentic Dhaka, especially if you're a foodie looking for a new and off the beaten track kind of experience in Bangladesh. We came to the tour expecting to just eat but our tour guides, Saidy and Iqman took it to another level. We had a great conversation about food, culture, history and everyday student life; a great tour around the University of Dhaka and Fantastic Food! I Highly recommend!

Cannot recommend highly enough. Excellent tour which offers a real insider's perspective on Old Dhaka. If you want to visit the eating spots popular with the locals, this is the tour for you.
