Excellent tour with a great guide mr. poo who tells a lot about the history of Thailand and the bridge on the River Kwai. There was also a very good lunch included.

We visited the floating markets, it was interesting to see how the floating markets operated and to see Thai people actually cooking on the floating boats. We would recommend you go on the rowing boats to get a full experience of the floating markets. The visit to the bridge over the river Kwai was ok, nice to see where the film was made and to walk along the bridge. The museum was disappointing, it was just a walking way filled with photographs and pictures. The guide was very pleasant throughout the trip, giving us plenty of information about the places visits and about Thailand in general. The one downside was the amount of time spent on a minibus, but I expect that in the places visited. At least the minibus was clean and comfortable

Having watched the film with my Dad several times, it's a place I wanted to visit - Bridge on River Kwai (both for my departed Dad and myself). I was not disappointed. History was brought to light - I felt a sense of peace, I was moved but the images of the Men who fought for peace and freedom, something we take for granted. I felt tormented by the suffering in the images and the realisation that humans can be so cruel. I event felt like an intruder myself when walking on the bridge but I know without those brave people we would not have the luxury of freedom. If anything, it gave me the opportunity to pay my respects and whisper a "Thank you" for their bravery and sacrifice. A true historic place! One of the things I wanted to see most was the floating markets (as I'd heard so much about it). I wasn't disappointed at all. I loved the buzz of the tourists and locals as they bartered and tried to get a sale from boats passing by. If you've never experienced a waterways traffic jam then this will be your first! A must experience.

Yea, there’s nothing like the floating market in Bangkok. Seriously a must see for anyone that has the chance to travel abroad.

Please be aware this tour DOES NOT include a visit to the Thailand Railway Museum near the cemetery, our guide told us it might be closed and was not at all interested in us going. The Jeath Museum is interesting but most of the photos have badly faded and there is very little information. So the museum you need is the Thailand Railway Museum, which I visited several years ago and made the long journey from Bangkok worthwhile. My friends were very disappointed in this tour and it was expensive. Guide’s English not that clear and didn’t offer much information. Lunch is buffet style but not the best, kept warm not hot. Driver however was excellent. Do research carefully before you book a trip.

Starting from a late booking we expected some possible problems. There were none! Tum Tum our guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable, entertaining, and professional she helped us have an incredible day. We were unable to call and confirm our booking as we were flying and then confirmed through email after hours but still received a response assuring us everything was fine and what time to expect pick up from our hotel. Throughout our tour Tum Tum was able to answer our questions and provided insights along the way on Thai local history, foods, people and places and of course the attraction areas themselves. Absolutely amazing adventure made even better by an expert guide, thank you!

This is one of those trips that will last a life time. Peter, our guide, was very knowledgeable and savvy about the whole trip. We started early to avoid the crowds by going to a coconut stand where we were shown and explained everything about coconuts. The Floating Markets were exceptional and awesome! DO this tour when in Bangkok, you won't regret it. It was a great and memorable experience. The shopping when we got off the boat was also good and very reasonable. You must bargain a little. Lastly, the River Kwai itself was very interesting to see and be part of history. Will do both again! Lunch was also included.

If you are looking for a way to see the floating markets and the river Kwai as an independent traveler who is looking for a way to get there then this is the tour for you. Our tour guide did not spend a lot of time on giving us any information on the market or on anything else. I would say this was one of the more disappointing tours that I have been on. This turned out to be a four bus transfer from Bangkok to the floating market to Kwai and back again. This tour, in my opinion, is nothing but a transportation service thinking it is otherwise will leave you very disappointed.

Sailing past market stalls by boat. It is an experience. You should not skip the River Kwai during your trip in Thailand. This is also a bit of Dutch history in the 2nd World War.

This journey was expensive and did not reached the aim expected. Very punctional, the guide was ok, but always watched at his clock to speed up the return to Bangkok. We stopped to see how they are making the sugar with palm trees and there were also sales orchids. Then we went to see the floating market. No fruits and vegetables on the boat, but only tourists stupid things. No authenticity at all. Lunch was included, but buffet like cantine in a school, very far from the excellent thaï gastronomy. We followed to visit the museum where there are old dust exhibitions, without major interest. Stopped at the cemetry few minuted and finally arrived at the bridge. Full of tourists merchants on one side, on the other side they tried to make a camp but full of fake. To summarize: to avoid

We had the best time on our private day trip. Our guide, Jenny, was wonderful and our driver was a very good driver! The markets were fun and we enjoyed the boat trips. Jenny took photos of us which was nice too. Lunch was fantastic and then the Death Railway Museum and memorial visits were very interesting and touching. The Bridge itself was an amazing experience and we had a nice amount of time in each place. Thank you for a fantastic trip!

Booked with Tour East. It was a great experience. Guide and Driver were excellent. Only four of us on the trip and the bus/minivan was great. Clean and pretty comfy. Perfect amount of time and information given at each place. Would definitely recommend it. Thanks Tour East

Local tour guide - Amm, was quite informative and was happy to answer any questions. - Long drive so bring your earbuds (loaded with podcasts or music or whatever you enjoy). - Per the reviews here, we stopped to see how coconut is made into many things including coconut palm sugar. - The Floating markets were hectic with lots of tourists and wares, and pollution from the long boat motors. Worth watching the traffic jam every few minutes at the main intersection while many manual rowers (mostly women) tackle with motorised boats to get across the way - they work hard in the heat, humidity and pollution! - Tropical fruit and delicious rambutans compliment the highly recommended coconut pancakes made right in front of you! - JEATH - POW museum, cemetery and finally the bridge - all really interesting places. Yes there are lots of tourists, but they're all doing what you're doing - getting a piece of history and feeling the heat and noting the hell that these people had to go through. Definitely recommended!

The day started with a 6.10am pick up from our hotel. The guide was friendly and enthusiastic about the day explaining clearly what to expect. It was great to see how the canals were used so many years ago, but now it is more of a traditional market. The bridge was surreal, after watching the film as a child so many years ago to seeing the real thing today and learning more about the history behind the building of the bridge and what lives it cost. You also visit the cemetery during this trip which again makes you realise this actually happened.

Start out by saying be prepared for a long day of driving. We were picked up at 6.00 am at our hotel in 9 seater mini bus and proceeded to pick up other travellers at their hotels. Unfortunately we did not transfer to a larger more comfortable bus but went in this mini bus on our trip. It was We ended taking a bit uncomfortable but okay. We then tripped off stopping at a coconut farm for a break, which wasn't awe inspiring but interesting and help break the trip into sections. We then traveled onto the war cemetery and the floating markets. War cemetery was a somber experience realising how many people died during that period. Onto the markets. This was interesting and an enjoyable experience, especially sitting and watching all the boats maouvering around one another. Sold everything from produce to clothes. You name it you probably find it to buy somewhere there. We did a ride in a motorised canoe to the markets and then was rowed around the markets in a canoe. Very interesting. We then went to the famous bridge and whilst it was a bridge it was interesting to understand what the pow's went thru to build it. We walked the bridge and around the area for a while taking in the enormity of building the bridge back in those days which such a fast flowing river. Quite an achiement. We the moved on and had an enjoyable lunch at a restaurant on the river. From there we went to Jeath War Museum which was okay. It was interesting to see the poor conditions the pow's had to live in. We would have liked to look at the temple opposite the museum but we had no time left and had to make the long trek home. Overall the trip was good and enjoyable.

Very knowledgeible guide but difficult to understand. Interesting trip and we enjoyed it. No water or cold cloth provided which makes a huge difference when you are wilting. Lunch was very poor, meat was tough and tofu shrivelled.Floating market- paddle boat good fun, sadly motorised boats ruining atmosphere and bad fumes for genders.Long trip but good experience.
