Abdellatif is such an amazing person and tour guide. He showed my friends and I all around the Medina and took us to only the best shops. He’s so knowledgeable of the history of Fes and we learned so much from him. We feel so lucky to have met him.

My husband & I are traveling from Vermont, USA and we started in Casablanca. Our tour guide in Fez was Abdul and that almost says it all- Abdul was wonderful!! He is from Fez, his English was excellent and his character delightful, plus he’s very knowledgeable. We loved spending our day with him! We are thankful.

Our guide, Abdul, was very knowledgeable, and very respectful. He is obviously a respected man in this city, as seen by his interaction with the people of Fes. With only one day in Fes, we at least had the sense of seeing important parts of the city, and learned so much about Fes. We were very fortunate to take this tour.

Abdul was the best guide! Wealth of knowledge and great at tailoring the tour to what you’re most interested in. We saw all the treasures of the Medina, and some beautiful views of it from outside. He gave us a lot of insight on the elaborate history and culture of Fes.

We had a fantastic time with Abdel. We were a group of five girls and he was incredibly patient with us and took amazing photos. The amount of history was ample but not overwhelming. I’m really happy our riad set us up with Abdel and he was truly the best! Also there are many shops to stop at for your shopping tour — from carpets to argan oil to ceramics to leather. Don’t forget to negotiate… I really trusted our guide!

On the advice of my dar host, I scheduled a Fez medina tour with Abdellatif Maskine. Mr Maskine was absolutely wonderful to work with - he listened to my interests, took me through 11mi/almost 18km of medina streets/passages/alleyways that I would not have been able to navigate on my own, and shared a huge amount of valuable information. I appreciated his work so much that I decided to accept his offer to reconvene the next day for a half day tour, which was also wonderful - we saw the rest of the Andalusian quarter and had some excellent mint tea (pro tip, the mint tea may have a lot of additional herbs delicious besides mint!) Would highly recommend and if I have the opportunity to return to Fez would absolutely appreciate the opportunity to be guided by Mr Maskine again.

Fez Sahara Tours really helped me see, appreciate and enjoy the Fez Medina. Abdellatif Maskine or Abby as he asked to be called is a truly excellent tour guide and more importantly, a good person. My goal was to take photos and videos of historic sights, and interesting people in the Medina. Abby was patient, kind, extremely generous, protective and knowledgeable and funny. At first my friend and I just booked a half day tour, but that organically grew to two full day tours. He took us to the famous Chouara Tannery, Jewish Mellah, Marinid Tombs, the gates of The Royal Palace, Al Attarine Madrasa in addition to meeting countless talented artisans. Abby and especially his colleague Adbul helped explain to us art of negotiating a price with vendors. Abby arranged for a driver to take us to various locations outside the Medina such as Castles, Forts, The Jewish Cemetery, pottery site, and Blue Gate. I got all that I wanted from this experience, and more. I high recommend Abdellatif and Fez Sahara Tours. Warmly, Shawn

Absolutely amazing experience! Our guide Abby was amazing, very nice ,caring and knowledgeable . The tour not only comes with the professional, licenced guide, but also the private car and the driver , door to door service. Thank you, after this trip we were feeling almost as if we were locals. Outstanding!

My experience visiting Fez with Abdellatif Maskine was spectacular! Abdel showed me every corner of the medina, visiting all the corners, neighborhoods, curious and relevant places that I would not have reached alone. In every detail Abdel delighted me with his recounting of the historical aspects. I got to know the Jewish part of Fez El-Jedid, the Karaouiyine neighborhood and its green roofs, its Madrasah, the tanners' quarter, the beautiful Place de Seffrarine, one of my favorites, all the zoos, the Dar el-Batha museum, all the gates of the city, the Andalusian neighborhood, several Fondacs including el-Nejarine, the beautiful cemetery, the viewpoints, the main artery of the Talía Kabira medina, the Bou Inania madrasa, the textile, ceramic, tanning, oils, perfumes and herbs, the area where there are the most people in North Africa. Maskine is also known and loved in the medina and walking with him meant being able to connect with people and greet each step, try what they offered at the stalls, laugh and have a good time among the kindness of the people. With Abdel I shared lunch at a place where the food was very delicious and cheap and among the local people, without tourists hanging around. I felt like at home. Abdellatif is a charming person and extraordinarily kind. We had many excursions left to do. I will surely repeat. So I highly recommend the experience of touring Fez with Abdel. From Barcelona my most sincere hug Maskine!!!

A very comprehensive visit of Fes from the New to the Old City and everything in-between. Abdelatif was very knowledgeable and knew how to best navigate a short window to maximize seeing everything worth visiting in the city.

Ahmad was my guide and I had an amazing experience. He helped me change hotels, didn’t pressure me to buy anything all day & took me to some great spots I would never have found & took some great pictures I would never have got being a solo traveller. I really liked that he carried my water bottle around (the small things!), was a wealth of knowledge & that the tour was broken into 2 parts so you had a minute to relax prior to watching the sunset via car. His driver was great too. Highly recommend for not only female solo traveller but in general as Fes is a total maze!!

I realise I will be the first non five star rater here. But I would be doing a disservice to TripAdvisor users if I don't speak my mind here. Our guide for this tour was Abdul. Purely as a guide to see around Fes, I would've given him five stars, but I have to deduct a couple of stars for letting our good faith in him down by the places he took us to shop. I will not elaborate on the positives since most reviews here have done that already and I second them completely. He is a great guide - very knowledgeable, polite, courteous, patient and took us around for longer than planned. I therefore insisted and tipped him well, though he first refused to accept saying we had anyway paid well for the trip. My grouse is he consciously let us get ripped. And if anything, egged us on to buy saying he has negotiated a good discount for us. My advice to future clients here is - DONT BUY FROM ANY OF THE PLACES HE WILL TAKE YOU TO. Or atleast be warned that these are places that sell at a massive premium. You will get the same quality stuff for much lesser in other shops. As a professional guide, he should atleast let us know these places are expensive. The shops he took us to were grander than the average shops you see around in the Medina. So they were worth visiting. But most were projected as cooperatives or places where the work was done by widows or other needy people. There was nothing to corraborate that claim when I checked on each of them. I got ripped off in the first place where we were taken to. This was a ceramics manufacturer cum seller - an outright scam. Good place to see the pottery and artisan work. Abdul told us he had negotiated a generous 20% discount for us. And I ended up paying at least - at least thrice the normal price. A quick check online got me to realise this. On asking him, he reasoned that it was better quality clay!! We avoided getting scammed in rest of the trip - particularly in two different carpet shops, both of course supposed cooperatives, work by widows etc!! What I felt really bad was, at the end of our tour and after I had tipped well, Abdul tried to convince us on the carpets we appeared keen on and said we could text him the next day and he will help us get a discount! And told us how important it was for us to take back something that would be from the country and be a part of our lives! With the ceramic experience, I dodged this one. I bought the same carpet the next day from another store in the Medina at less than half the final price that Abdul's shop had refused! It was remarkable and shocking that we were being pushed to buy at that much higher. So much for the faith in a good guide! It's the trust let down that hurts more than the money itself. Left us with a very bad taste on Fes, and Morocco for a while, restored later by some much better people and guides that we met.

I definitely give 5/5 to our tour. Our guide with deep throughout knowledge and share with us the correct spots to purchase stuffs. We had the chance to taste the local food and informed of the tradition of Marocco and Ramadan 完全同意给全五分,导游非常客气,并且对于当地的介绍非常详尽。并且有合适的地方去选购合适的物品比如纱巾之类的,全程大致5小时左右

Abdellatif was amazing!! We had three parts to our tour. First one was by car, second one was during the day and we walked all over and in the third part we got to see Fez at night. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and loved what he does for living. Will highly recommend him!! (We had a tour guide the day before with this company and he was awful. He took us on a shopping experience instead of hidden gems as it was advertised. Please make sure you ask what you want at the beginning of your tour and if you don’t want any sales presentations, please SAY so! )

If you ever are in Fes and need a guide, Mr. Abdellatif Maskine is your man. Extremely knowledgeable, highly patient, kind and caring. He has a great love and passion to share about his city, so that others can begin to come to know and love it as he does. We spent close to 9 hours together, walking, talking, exploring, sharing. We spoke about many things. It was as if we were long friends and time was not an issue. He cares for the young, the poor and stray animals, dislikes cheats, tricksters and scammers, scolds young men who loaf about and do nothing but harass tourists, and is concerned for your safety and well-being. Having been in the business for a while, and given his gentle demeanour and age, he gets doors opened for sights and sounds that your average guide cannot. I enjoyed some privileged views. He speaks English, Arabic, French and passing German. He was my Obi-wan Kenobi for the day. He looked and sounded the part too.

We experienced a one day tour with Abi. His knowledge of Fes history, culture and places was vast; the tour exceeded our expectations. He also made it special by stopping by local spots that we would have never known to sample soup, candies and fruit. If you are in Fes for the first time, I highly recommend this tour!

At the start of the day Abdul took us all around Fes. He gave us clear advice about the buildings and was really friendly. As we were entering the medina, Abdul took us to the highlights and shops me and my girlfriend wanted to see. He answered all our questions and took the time for us if we wanted to stay a little bit longer. (He even took us to his favourite place to have lunch). All in all, an amazing day in Fes. Hope to see you soon walking coca cola ;). Cheers!!
