The Vatican tour was the first of five tours that I reserved for my husband and me, while staying in Rome. I did not see the option to select English tour when I booked this tour, so was shocked when I got to the tour office and was told that we were on a Spanish-speaking tour. The young lady in the tour office assured us that we could tagalong with an English-speaking tour, gave us our stickers and put us with a group and disappeared. Within two minutes of her disappearance, we realized that she put us on the Spanish-speaking tour. The tour guide, with apologies, recommended that we get the audio guide once we arrived in the Vatican Museum and pretty much put us on our own. It is a nightmare, trying to navigate , the Vatican Museum, the Vatican, and the Sistine Chapel without a tour guide. After visiting the museum and walking back-and-forth, trying to find our way to the Vatican, we just had to give up and essentially lost our money for today’s tour. I’ve messaged Viator and received no response. At this point, I’m ready to cancel the rest of the tours with them because I’m not happy with their customer service at all!

Very informative! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. She welcomed all questions, and she gave us great tips of things to do after the tour ended.

The Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel were breathtaking and our guide did a great job of explaining the history of the art. That being said, the pope had closed St. Peter’s Basilica that day, so she gave us a more in depth tour of the museum and chapel. By the end of hour 3, we were feeling claustrophobic, tired of listening and ready to do our own thing. I’ve studied these art works, so it was all fascinating to me, but we wish we had gone the self-guided route. Other tour guides were even getting frustrated at how long we were lingering.

Our guide was fun, thoughtful, smart and knew how to get us around the large crowds. She was wonderfully informative and a pleasure to be with.

Our tour guide was excellent. Very informative. All five of us enjoyed our Vatican Tour visit to the Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's Basilica.

This was good for being able to skip the line and get some type of tour. I did feel rushed in some areas. It was also tough to have our group and then so many others that would cut everyone off so frequently our group would get split up.

Check in/ finding meeting location went smoothly— they are a well oiled machine. We saved so much time walking by lines of hundreds if not thousands of people. Our tour guide was great and provided a lot of useful and enjoyable info! I can’t even imagine if we had to do it on our own— money well spent….

St Peters Bascilica truly amazing as was the sistine chapel luckily we were told it was not as busy as usual so best to go off peak

St. Peters square and the basilica were closed at noon due to the holiday. I don't think I should have to pay the entire amount for just seeing the museum. We were never told this, so be careful when you book.

The tour was great but our group went on Good Friday and we only got to see half of what we paid for. Why still open tours when you’re not going to show the entire thing because of a holiday?

Really superb opportunity to see the Vatican City. St Pietr’s Basilica was fab too! A great display of art including the Sistine Chapel ceiling; Michelangelo’s amazing talent. Our tour guide was well-informed & friendly.

We were small group of four couples and all 8 of us had a good time. Tour leader was superb in every way. Highly recommend. Thank you.

What a carry on trying to find the voucher redemption point! Spent over an hour walking a bout, asking people where it was! Not easy to find. Map with voucher not accurate. Almost missed the tour, lovely man literally ran us up to the guide and we made the tour. The tour itself was amazing. Highly recommend the three areas, guide was so knowledgeable, kept us informed all the time.

We went to the redemption center to find a sign on a closed gate saying yo go to another location. Had yo wait online told we missed our tour. They printed us a ticket…. we went to the museums with NO guide and then had to wait on a line at St. Peter’s for almost 3 hours. We are expecting a refund for the difference of a tour with a guide & without.. This was a terrible experience & it was our first with Viator.

Our guide was wonderful. She is passionate and knowledgeable and funny. I would do this tour and request her again. The Vatican tour with the museums is a bucket list trip. It was just wow. Highly recommend
