Taka & Keiko open their home & hospitality to each guest they host. It's a uniquely personal tour of the area, Japanese customs & traditions. This experience will not only be the highlight of your visit to Japan but it will be an unforgettable pleasant memory that will draw you back for years to come. This is an amazing & soothing event that will fulfill every expectation you could imagine. Better yet, it'll change your life for the better!

We had such a wonderful day with Taka-san and Keiko-san along with our two teenage children. It was our 3rd day in Tokyo and perfect timing to take a break from sight-seeing and spend a calm day learning about Japanese culture and cuisine. They were so welcoming and warm and made the whole day a fun experience for all of us. They were also very accommodating of our vegetarian son. Definitely a highlight of our trip and absolutely recommended!

It was the best part of our trip to Tokyo! They are so welcoming and provided us with such great knowledge of the area and tradition's. They were both so fun and kind our kids who are 15 and 13 had the best time. The food was also the best we have had while in Japan so far. Highly recommend!!

It took me a while to write this review but this was my favorite experience in Japan in the month I spent there and I will remember this for years. Taka and Keiko welcomed us into their home as if we were family, taught us all about Japanese culture, and together we made one of the best meals we had in Japan! And this is including the Michelin star restaurant we visited later in the trip! We learned loads about Japanese history and learned how to make udon, sushi, and tempura. I was then able to bring this information back to my family in Los Angeles and teach them all these things myself! I highly recommend doing this course, I will now be doing a cooking course in every country I visit because of how positive an experience I had here.

Taka and Keiko are the loveliest people! Taka met us at the station to guide us to his house and also did the same when we left. We had the best time making origami, making udon and sushi, learning calligraphy and learning more about Japanese culture. The food was delicious!! We also enjoyed getting to know Taka and Keiko. They are the loveliest people and we are have glad to have gotten to know them and make some friends in Japan! Thank you so much for having us!

As an AAPI family business owner who runs the highest rated walking food tour company in Los Angeles, I do hours of research and only choose local experiences that I feel would match my expectations. My family and I have done many culinary experiences in the US/North America, and this was one of our most cherished. Not only did our time with Taka-san and Keiko-san exceed our expectations, but it touched our hearts to know that there are special people in this world who would open their homes and hearts to others and share their culture and cuisine with people they've never met. It really made an impact on us and how we want to connect with people. From start to finish, we loved walking up the stairs with Taka-san to visit a shrine where we prayed together and learned about Japanese customs and history; we loved walking through his quaint neighborhood and then into his beautiful home where Keiko-san welcomed us with slippers and a warm smile; we loved making origami cranes, dancing to YMCA while stomping on the udon dough, cooking, eating, drinking, and writing our names in Japanese calligraphy. We loved every moment of this very special experience. Taka-san and Keiko-san even gave us gifts from Japan to take home. Highly recommended as one of our favorite local culinary and cultural experiences ever. Thank you Taka-san and Keiko-san! We are happy to now have family in Tokyo!

Taka-san & Keiko-san are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was so much fun being able to see what a local Japanese neighbourhood and household is like. The lessons taught by Taka-sensei and Keiko-sensei were educational, fun, and delicious!! We've already used your delicious tenpura recipe back home. Best of all, it felt like we were truly welcomed as part of their family. We miss you both already and are excited to come visit again sometime. すてきな家に入らせてくれてありがとうございました。絶対に忘れないです!

No words to describe the warmth and love that Taka-san and Keiko-san have given us all these while. This is one family that teaches you family values and positive life experiences. From strangers when we first participated in Taka’s homecoming experience 4 years ago to our subsequent personal visits to their house till now, we have created beautiful memories and quality bondings each time. Never regret to join this class and best decision ever. This time round Keiko cooked us delicious miso pork and matched with my nasi lemak rice and her well-cooked sunny side up! Taka-san refreshed my boy with the sushi making and torching the beef! Oh wow the sushi are all so good!!! We had a wonderful time together and so looking forward to visiting my family in Tokyo again soon!!! 🥰

Taka and Keiko were amazing hosts!! Every country we go to, my partner and I take a cooking class and this was by far our favourite! On top of the fun cooking we got taught about history and traditional art! Taka and Keiko truly make it such a warm and homely experience which is honestly one of our most lasting memories from Japan. Such a special way to end our trip!!

10/10 experience, My wife and I along with my brother in law and sister in law booked this experience for our anniversary, and Taka and his wife went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. We will definitely be returning and will be recommending them to everyone. Thanks again Taka!

I spent 25 days in Japan over september and october and i can confidently say that out of all things i did, Taka's homecoming was absolutely my favorite. As a vegetarian, Japan can feel intimidating but Taka and Keiko, were extremely accommodating and ca me up with an entire menu for me that was delicious. We learned how to make udon, tempura, and sushi (and yes they had special veggie sushi ingredients f or me). Taka went over the historical and cultural context of the dishes we made, and we even started the wh ole experience with a trip to their local shrine where he taught us proper shrine etiquette! They also served us great plum wine, sake, beer, regional soy sauce, fresh wasabi, and kit kats! This was the best possible introduction to japanese hospitalization after feeling somewhat overwhelmed in tokyo. Aprendemos a fazer udon, tempura e sushi (Inclusive, a Keiko pesquisou opções vegetarianas). 10/100000

A truly memorable experience. The lessons on origami, cooking, tea making and calligraphy were very educational, but what we will really remember is Taka Sans and Keiko Sans warmth and hospitality. If we hadn't had this experience, we would never have gotten to talk to people from this country and got some insight into their lives. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough

Wow this was such an incredible experience! Taka and Keiko were so kind and helped us learn a lot about Japanese culture and cooking! Taka walked with us from the station and told us all about the history of the area as well as how to properly pray at a shrine! We learned how to make udon, sushi, and tempura and they did such a good job at explaining everything. Taka and Keiko really made us feel like we were at home in a city far away. Definitely a highlight of our trip and 1000% recommend!

This was an awesome experience for our family. Taka and Keiko were very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. All of the activities and food was amazing. We enjoyed this experience on our first full day in Japan and it was very beneficial to introduce us to the culture and food of the country. We made Udon noodles, sushi, calligraphy, origami, and shared Japanese tea together. Taka met us at the train station and walked us back afterwards. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. These are memories that we will keep forever.

I won’t repeat the previous reviews but, suffice to say, we had an amazing time and will definitely keep in touch with Taka and Keiko (a very warm and generous couple). It was one of our absolute favourite activities in Japan. If you have the chance to do this activity, you should definitely book it (and in plenty of time as it is understandably very popular).

Oh my, where to start! I took Taka-San & Keiko-san's class in May! I thought I had left a review but realized I had forgot! This class was so amazing that even though three months has passed, I had to come on here to leave a review because of Taka-san & Keiko-san's hospitality and positivity. This was the most worthwhile class and experience I had the opportunity to do in Tokyo. I recommend this class to anyone I meet who wants to go to Japan. The food was some of the best food I have ever had in my life! It was also so fun to talk with Taka-san, Keiko-san, and the other people who signed up for the class. We made udon, sushi, tempura, oragami, and we did a tea ceremony with Japanese sweets. It was so I retesting to learn about Japanese culture and Taka-san & Keiko-san. I hope one day I can visit again and bring more people to experience this class. Thank you so much Taka-san & Keiko-san for the wonderful memories!

Oh my oh my!!! This is my 3rd time visiting my wonderful family, TakaHomecoming, in Japan! And this time round I brought my parents along to visit Taka-san and Keiko-san…this trip was 3 years late due to the pandemic but I kept my promise and I brought them with me June this year! Best memories and experience ever in Japan! We cooked Singapore style chicken rice right from start! As always, Taka-san and Keiko-san are such amazing warm hearted people whom welcome us with great local hospitality and delicious ginger pork! Hehe I miss Keiko-san’s food…love it very much! We have so much conversations together, my dad conversing with Taka-san about the olden days in Singapore and my mum sharing recipes with Keiko-san. All seems unreal when they just met for the first time but yet so warmth and felt like closed families already! My go-to family in Tokyo…love love

Hands down my best memories of my trips to Japan ! I first met Taka and Keiko in August 2019. They are such a welcoming couple and definitely made me feel at home. Very friendly and super caring. We talked about many different topics, we then cooked udon, tempura and sushis (including Wagyu sushis). Everything was clearly explained step by step and they provided all the recipes printed. After cooking and eating, Keiko did some calligraphy and taught me a bit of origami. I tasted premium Sake and local beers. They also printed a souvenir photo and gave me a couple of gifts, it was a very nice attention. We kept contact for the remaining years until I went back to Tokyo in May 2023. We cooked together a simple French cake this time around and Keiko also cooked a delicious lunch with soup, rice, tonkatsu and salad. They gifted me some Japanese snacks as well. It was like I never left. Thank you Taka and Keiko for keeping in touch, for being so kind to me and make me feel at home when I go to Tokyo. I will see you again for sure whenever I go back to Japan, I cannot wait ! If you get the chance to go to Tokyo, do not hesitate to book this experience. Food is a way to connect people and create new friendships and memories, regarless of your age or where you're coming from. This is what travelling should be about.

We had an amazing time with Taka and Keiko. They are both so warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this activity. Taka will meet you at the train station and bring you to his home for about 4-4 1/2 hours. We had the opportunity to make origami, cook udon noodles from scratch, roll sushi, help make wagyu beef and tempura and do some calligraphy. We also learned about the tea ceremony and had matcha tea. Both Taka and Keiko make you feel so comfortable and they teach you about some of the culture surrounding the activities. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

I appreciated the intimacy of this activity. I would love to do this again when I visit Tokyo. The married couple of the house were very sweet and the group I was in was cool. My time was well spent and I learned so much about Japanese culture and everyone’s life story. This was Amazing!
