Despite an unusually hot day for Singapore, our walking food tour with Zaniel was delightful, flavorful and all the right ingredients intellectually that this foodie craved! Zaniel introduced us to local food specialties, the history behind the famous dishes, which highlighted the coming together of the 3 major ethnic heritages that have made Singapore what it is today. Well worth the cost of holding your appetite for this foodie meet up!

Jaimie was very enthusiastic and full of energy. Our walk was leisurely and informative. Hearing about growing up and living in Singapore was very interesting. The foods we tried were multi-ethnic and very tasty, a good sampling of the many cultures of the city.

Jamie goes all out to make this a really worthwhile experience, somewhat away from the central area, and more akin to a local walk around where the real people live and work. The food we tried were samples of that, and were picked for the local expertise and quality of that particular product.

The Walking Food Tour at Katong with Zaniel was fantastic! We were a small group strolling through the streets of this wonderful quarter, stopping for interesting stories and photo opportunities and of course a variety of delicious food and drinks. The selection was a great mixture and at the end of the tour it was hard to decide for the favorite. I highly enjoyed the tour and the relaxed atmosphere prior to my flight later that evening.

This is definitely a hidden gem that I haven't run into while I was doing my pretrip research but definitely don't regret doing! It is a food tour but Zaniel our guide covered a lot of culture and history of perekehan and Singapore. As a traveller on a tight schedule this will give you a chance to experience the signature dishes that is reflective of the history of the people living here. The food are mostly snacks so doesn't quite overload you, and there are adequate walking in-between to burn off the calories. I especially recommend Zaniel who was very knowledgeable, attentive and engaging who shared so much of his knowledge and enthusiasm about this city that really made this tour stand out. 100% recommend without hesitation!

Very fun & informative tour, James, one of the best guides we have ever had. The tour was long enough to get a feel of the hidden gem of Singapore - Joo Chiat, and yet short enough with the hot sun & humidity out there. Good paced tour and great way to learn the local culture. Stay hydrated & wear sun protection. Bring an umbrella just in case. Highly recommended especially with the guide James.

Katong was an area that was not in my plans. That made this tour more worthwhile. With the little knowledge I had on Singapore, I never would've been able to explore the area and taste the foods included had it not been for this tour. Jamie was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Strongly reommended for foodies and photographers.

Excellent activity if you love to eat and explore the local food scene outside of the tourist areas. Jamie and Steven were amazing tour guides who are true locals that know the places to eat. Highly recommend!

Jamie and her partner were such great guides! They were so thoughtful of everybody, lead us through the busy streets to have a variety of delicous food in so many places. We were all stuffed. There was so much to see and so little time but we now know so many historical details that we can brag at home with our knowledge. Thx guys for this great experience!

Fabulous! Jamie was fun and informative. Food chosen was a great introduction to “real” Singapore food. Loved going to the suburbs and seeing real life Singapore. Added bonus was mastering the MTR.

Jamie was our tour guide and she did a fantastic job. A ‘pocket-rocket’ who, with her insights and knowledge gave us much more than we could have hoped to expect. The culinary part was amazing, with details on the food preparation, the families behind the outlets, some history on Singapore and some really interesting architecture, local ‘hidden’ areas and a Gen X survival story. I would recommend anyone to do this tour. Perfect introduction to the sights and smells of an area that we probably would never have visited during a short 5-day stay. Thanks Jamie, great job.
