This tour is really fabulous. Not only the most delicious street food we've ever tasted but a wonderfully informative walk around the french concession area as well. Our guide Topher was incredibly well informed about the food we tasted and shared the information in an interesting, timely manner. Come hungry as the food just keeps coming.

Go hungry as the food is absolutely fantastic. My family and I toured with Paul, a knowledgeable host who made our morning both interesting and fun. His Chinese is amazing! We had kids with us, and they loved it as much as us bigger kids! Highly recommended tour … even for a 16 year Shanghai resident. Always something new to learn. 👍👍👍

I was solo in Shanghai on a business trip and booked this tour as I had a morning free. Turned out to be a great time. Was stuffed by the end and went back fully satisfied! Super selection of local places - and I also returned to one of them by myself later. Highly recommend.

I really will thought about tour. Food was plentiful, enjoyable, and authentic. Chris was a great guide, really knew the area and the culture. You got a sense that they're really researched the stores that they included on this tour and that you're not going to tourist traps. Recommended!

We had a wonderful morning with Paul exploring some of the food delights that Shanghai has to offer. Great information on cooking techniques, ingredients and traditions and the great variety of breakfast food. The venues were super friendly and we really felt we eat like locals... In addition we experienced some of the historic landmarks of the French concession.

We tasted some really excellent food and there were plenty of options for the vegetarian and the meat eater in our group. Paul was knowledgeable and presented things in a fun way. It was worth it for the “intel” of all these delicious places to get food!

The Shanghai food tour was the highlight of our weeklong trip to China! Jamie (the owner) was super accommodating and helped us secure a reservation on a day that was not originally on the calendar, so we could not be more thankful that she went out of her way to make this experience happen. She was also very responsive and helpfully shared details of her favorite resultants and shops in Shanghai, all of which were spot on. Our guide Paul was OUT OF THIS WORLD. He was super knowledgeable about the history of Shanghai, the food that we were tasting and the local area in the French Concession. He was also wonderful with our children and accommodating to the vegetarian gentleman who was on the tour with us. Every single thing we had tasted was delicious and was something new, and this is coming from someone that has lived in Asia for the last 7 years! The stalls that he took us to were all clean and very hygienic so that shouldn't even be a concern. Unfortunately it had rained during part of the tour but Paul saved the morning by renting a bike and buying us all umbrellas! He truly went above and beyond and the 3 hours with him just flew by.

Such a fantastic tour, with Topher an excellent guide! The food was amazing, and while we walked Topher treated us to fascinating bits of history. I didn't find the amount of walking to be too much at all; given how much food there was, I thoroughly appreciated the many chances to "walk it off." A great way to experience Shanghai. Enjoy the jianbing – it's pretty life-changing, and I miss it already.

Such a great food tour!! Our guide Topher was very knowledgeable about both the food, the restaurants we were visiting, and also just Shanghai in general (we got a small history/cultural crash course as well which was super helpful). Loved the variety of food (noodles, soups, dumplings, pancakes, and more) at both literal hole in the wall places + larger joints, and as other reviews have mentioned, it was a ton of food so be sure to come hungry. Would definitely recommend this tour, I've also heard great things about their night food tour as well!

One of the best food tours I have done! Paul was an excellent tour guide - very full of information about the food, culture, and city and kept excellent pace throughout the tour. We sampled many tasty dishes at places I never would have known to try myself. This is the second Untour food tour I have taken and both have been of very high quality, I would strongly recommend. Make sure to come hungry and you will leave very satisfied! At the end of the tour Paul shared great tips and recos of other things to do in the city. You won’t regret taking this tour!

This was a great tour, combining history and local delicious food! We had this as a Team Building activity, and the whole team were thrilled by the experience. Christopher was a great guide, and the walk in the lanes of Shanghai was fantastic and with some well hidden gems. Highly recommended!

Another great experience with UnFood Tours: Paul, our guide, showed us places only a long-time resident like him could know: Small restaurants and snack shops serving the most delicious, typical and varied food. Most of the c. 10 dishes (I stopped counting) were prepared on order within minutes right in front of us. The pace of the tour was well-planned, no wait-time and no haste either. Stops were a well-balanced mix of street food and sit-down restaurants. We also gained insight from Paul into history, society, economy, culture. Paul has been a resident for many years and shares his expertise and personal experience with a great sense of humor. Fyi, we also booked the Shanghai Night Food Tour and also Breakfast and Dinner tours in Beijing with UnTour Food Tours; I posted similar reviews for these tours.

Paul was the best. This tour reflects the real Shanghai traditional people’s food.simple but fool of tastes. Our second time ,and will do it agai.

Great breakfast tour with a good variety of food. Our guide, Topher, knew the neighbourhood well and we even got a bit of history tour as we strolled through the neighbourhoods. Really good for making sure there was something for everyone in our group regardless of dietary needs.

If you are in Shanghai and like food, go on a food tour. You get to walk through interesting neighborhoods while sampling some excellent food from spots most tourists would never think to visit. Topher was a knowledgeable guide with a lot of local insights. Great experience.

Paul was a fab guide and, despite pouring rain, made the tour and interesting and enjoyable experience. The food was rest and Paul took the time to explain why we were eating and the story behind it. I have lived in Shanghai for three years and can honestly say I learnt a lot and went to places I had never noticed before. Our group will definitely be doing the night eats tour too and will be back at all the breakfast places in our own time too! Glad you guys are doing tours again and looking forward to more!
