Giovanni led us through the tour as if the Vatican was his home. He has probably led hundreds of tours but he still seemed in awe of our surroundings and expected respect for his home. He was genuinely knowledgable of everything in the galleries and sanctuaries. This private, early tour was worth every euro. With our guide, we avoided climbing a very high staircase. We could view everything we wanted with minimal other tourists. We were never crowded. When we left, the entrance lines were unreal. There is no way we would have survived standing in line for hours, in the sun, before a 2 and a half hour tour. Highly recommend the early, private, tour.

Wow! This was one of the most beautiful experiences we had our entire trip. To walk the halls of the Vatican, see the Sistine Chapel, etc. you feel as if you've been transported to another world. Getting skip the line access for early in the morning was the key - we got in quickly and had space to revel in all of the splendor. Tania was a fabulous tour guide! So knowledgeable on absolutely everything. Highly recommend!

This tour was excellent! Easy to book and find our guide. Mossimo was outstanding and we learned so much from him. We would have not had the context without a tour and it would not have been nearly as easy without the tour. I would highly recommend the early morning option. Well worth it. One of the best tours we've ever been on.

Our trip to Italy was amazing! Three days in Rome, two days in Venice, and three days in Florence, Cinque Terre, and Tuscany, were fabulous! We had six different tours scheduled and all of our tour guides did a fantastic job! Rome, early morning Vatican small group tour, including the Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica was the most interesting and beautiful sites I have ever seen! Aftewards we did the climb to the top of St. Peter's Dome, which is a must to see! Our tour was booked through Get Your Guide- Liv Tours, and our guide Selenia was so extremely informational ! She did an excellent job and we were so happy to have had her for our guide! The tours and guides throughout out our trip, really made the trip exceptional.

Tour was incredibly interesting and awe inspiring. The early start allowed us to see and explore the Vatican museum in peace.

Linda from LivTours was so informative and very enthusiastic (especially for a tour at 7:30am). Linda provided amazing insight on the Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter's church. Going early morning is key to avoid crowds and proved to be best for taking pictures of the beautiful art with no one in the background. Linda made this tour well worth the $$ - it was easily a highlight of our Rome trip. If you're debating the tour, just book it!

Massimo was the best tour guide! He went above and beyond, explaining things in great detail with interesting historical and personal stories, showed us the best places for taking photos which we would never have noticed, and gave us a thorough and enjoyable tour.

Absolutely amazing!!! Our tour guide was the best!! He knew so much and stayed with us for four hours. We were lucky enough to only have two people, myself and my husband. I would definitely recommend doing it this way!!

Massimo was an amazing tour guide. He was engaging and humorous and gave us a wealth of information. The tour occurred on a Weds morning so there was no access to St. Peter’s Basillica due to the papal audience event. While the access inside was closed, there should be an option to spend some time in the square.

Laura was an excellent tour guide. She is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also knows how to control a group of tourists who don’t know their way around, followers who lag behind, and get separated in the crowds. Laura went back to retrieve stragglers 3 times. Each time with success. Any question she was asked, she knew the answer. All round excellent tour with unmatched expertise!

Our tour guide, Ilaria, was fantastic! She explained the meaning of each painting on the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel, which brought them to life! She also explained the history of the hundreds of paintings we viewed from the different art periods, such as Baroque and Renaissance. This tour must not be missed!

Our guide was funny but rushed. I am only comparing our experience to all the others we have booked through Viator. This one had history but very little. It was more about getting to the Sistine Chapel before the crowds. I’m not sure if he could have slowed down to immerse us given the volume of people coming to the Vatican. Hard to know. But lacked history.

Assunta was our guide on a private tour. She was extremely knowledgeable and a really good person to tell us about the history of the Vatican because she clearly loves what she does and has a great understanding of the Vatican and history. We were totally enchanted and can highly recommend her . The time went by so quickly and we look forward to having her as a guide again. Thank you so much Assunta, you are the best!

Alessa was a fantastic leader. She knew all the right spots to save us time waiting in line and getting us in the right places. She was especially considerate and helpful to a couple of us who were well into our 70’s. She was incredibly knowledgeable and took time to answer questions about some of the Museum objects. She was also most respectful of the holy areas and showed us the proper way to also honor those areas. She knew all about the statues in the Basilica and was able to answer questions we posed about some of the paintings which weren’t even paintings. I would very happily take your tour again on a different site. Thank you Alessa!

Our guide was Tania. She did an excellent job of painting a picture of the history of the Vatican. Doing early morning access gave us a wonderful opportunity to do our viewing with a minimal crowd. We were very pleased with Liv Tours and would highly recommend them. We will most certainly use again in the future.

Pay the extra money for this tour, totally worth the early morning pass and loved our guide. Massimo was our favorite guide of all of our tours in Italy! He may have been the second most popular person at Vatican City, (first being the Pope of course!)
