Great tour! Our informative guide provided ample history, humour, and guidance to make the trip relaxing and enjoyable. We lucked out with perfect weather, so the view was absolutely spectacular. Only one suggestion: I think the tour could have let us eat lunch up at the top, rather than in a town down the mountain.
This tour with the guide leo was fantastic he really knew his stuff, told great storys on the way to the eagles nest and was great at answering questions everyone had on the tour bus.
Highly recommended. Stunning views, interesting history. Walter was a very funny and insightful guide. You take two buses to the top, where you can look around the eagles nest and a memorial.
This was a large bus tour. After the hour or so drive on small roads, we ended up at the parking area. We transferred buses to make our way up the hill. If you have a problem with heights this tour is not for you. The history is fascinating in this place and the views are unbelievable. I would recommend this tour
Thomas from panaroma travels was a really good guide with a sense of humor. Had a great time. Would recommend it to everyone.
The trip up the mountain was nice and short.
Once there, the views were spectacular and having time to roam around on your own is definently a plus.
Walter was fabulous, knowledgeable and very good at herding our group of cats. The view was remarkable and we very much enjoyed the historical significance of the site. Berchestgaden is a quant and harming community full of restaurants and shops. Wonderful day.
The scenery was unbelievably beautiful but the trip was enhanced by our very knowledgeable guide, Walter. In addition to all of the background information he provided he was very entertaining. .
His directions were very clear and he managed to ably maneuver a busload of tourists from place to place with ease. He made me feel very safe. I consider the trip one of the highlights of my vacation and highly recommend the tour.
Our guide was very useful and friendly, the drive was easy and we were well looked after. They do mean 'skip-the-line' we didn't queue at all to get there. Once up, we had about 45 minutes, which is plenty of time to enjoy the view if you don't faff with food. Weather dependant you'll have a great day! Don't forget your passport!
fascinating tour, third time lucky for me as my previous two visits it wasn't possible to get to the top.
This is a must see especially for the breathtaking views from atop this mountain. I wish they allowed some more time to spend on top.
leaving at 0830 get you to the Eagles Nest early
before dozens of other tour groups arrive.
Beautiful Mountain views. Eagles Next does get
crowded later in the day...A Must see in in Salzburg
We travel and this is a must on your Salzburg "to do" list. Well planned, and well trained guides. An impressive lesson in history.
This was an excellent tour to the eagles nest. Our guide Walter was phenomenal. He gave tons of insight on Salzburg and places passed in route to eagles nest. He also has a great sense of humor. There was plenty of time to explore at the top of the eagles nest.
I absolutely love these guys - they are soooo funny, they make the trip a hoot. The second time we took the trip (with new companions), we did not get quite as much information on the salt trade route as we did on the first trip. Unfortunately the salt mine tour does not express the importance of that history, but that is not the fault of the tour guides on this trip. We normally do not pay for tours because it is out of our budget, but the fact that we had the ride to the top, the humor, and we did not have to stand in line for an hour was well worth it. In the future, we would probably take the salt mine tour on our own by taking the train since the add-on fee was really out of our budget, but definitely will continue to take the Eagle's Nest tour with Viator because you cannot beat the nonstop laughing with the tour guides. I am always afraid we will get someone "dry", but we always get someone even funnier. : )
Very interesting tour. Well organized and the guide was very knowledgeable. There was sufficient time at each stop to explore the area.
From start to finish this tour was well organised and ran like clockwork. Walter, the tour guide was informative, witty and answered questions readily , he obviously still enjoys hosting the tour and takes time to ensure he has everyone back on. Board the bus at each change
The lift to the top is stunning . The views from the top are breathtaking and it’s worth the extra walk to the peak for photo opportunities
We stopped at a small village where Walter took you to the two restaurants and checked everyone was ok
This tour is well worth €50 per person and
Well organized, tour guide had plenty of information and just the right amount of humor thrown in! As with most 1/2 day tours there is not enough time to really enjoy the stops, but you get a good feel for the area. Would highly recommend.
Breathtaking view and interesting history on this tour. Felt a little rushed and wished we could have had lunch there
A great tour of Hitler's Eagle's Nest!! Great guide and comfortable bus!! You have plenty of time to roam around on your own and hike further up the mountain to some breath taking views!!
What a great tour to see this very historical place. Met in easy to get to location in central Salzburg with Walter as our guide. He was so fun to listen too with so much knowledge about the areas we traveled through. The trip to Bavaria were Eagles Nest is located was a nice easy and very scenic drive from Salzburg. It's so beautiful as the top and the tour gives you plenty of time to explore and take lots of pictures. We stopped for a nice town for an ample lunch/shopping break with easy walk to the buses. A green day!
Thomas made our day. Witty, funny, with a lot of history knowleadge with a a humour, he had as in stitches all way through. I could have done this trip in a loop only to enjoy his company!!
Had a nice trip to the Eagles Nest and Berghdesgarten . Only improvement would have been for my husband and I to have been able to sit together. I enjoyed meeting new people, though. I found the alpine views breathtaking. And when our guide, Walter ( who was excellent) said Hitler never enjoyed them because he was afraid of heights, I felt glad. He didn’t deserve to enjoy this site. This trip is a must see...and take the morning bus. The place gets jammed as the day goes on.
We had an excellent day going to the Eagles nest. First of all, the bus was waiting for us when we arrived at the Square. We were welcomed to the trip by Walter an experienced professional guide. The bus was clean, comfortable, new and has Wi-Fi. Walter was informative, knew the history was a good storyteller and kept it humorous. The buses ran like clockwork, the driver was safe. When we got to the Eagles nest we were officially move through the tunnel and up the elevator to the Eagles nest. After a brief introduction we were allowed to explore on our own views were beautiful!! On the way back, Walter went on the bus to each person and asked them if they had a good time. He shared photos with the group on the TV screens on the bus. I would do this trip again!
The best way to get there is from Salzburgh which is a relatively short journey on the coach . The other advantage is that you can get there relatively early in the morning before the crowds descend leaving the rest of the day free for other tours such as ' The Sound of Music '.Even if you have no interest in the history surrounding the Eagles Nest the views are breath taking.
This tour was really good, just to see a piece of history, all be it not pleasant history. It is worth doing just for the views.
It was a rainy, cold and moody day but it couldn't have been more beautiful. Highly recommend hiking a bit around the Eagle's Nest. The bus tour up the road was great too and it was nice to be out in the countryside. Lunch in the little village was delicious.
amazing day tour from Salzburg. The views of the Alps are absolutely amazing from here and the history of Eagles Nest provided by our guide was informative.
The trip was well organized. Tour guide was interesting and knowledgeable.
Booking was simple. Highly recommend the tour! Check the weather forecast when booking if possible. The view is spectacular. A cloudy day will diminish your enjoyment of the surrounding mountains.
Excellent organisation and knowledge of the history and physical surroundings. Nice stop in the village and Time to enjoy a meal or discover.
