An amazing alternative and active way to travel up to the eagles nest! Highly recommend if you enjoy getting off the beaten path and enjoy a walk.

This tour was amazing. The tour guide was a walking history book which made the hike more memorable. We took the secret hiking route away from others which means we had a lot of ground to ourselves. It was a bit difficult to hike due to the elevation but that is what we were looking for. I believe you can choose which route you want to take. I would 100% recommend and would do it again. 3000 ft elevator!

This was an amazing tour hiking to the top of Eagle's Nest with our guide, Claudio. Before the hike, Claudio took us to a few different spots in the area and talked to us about the history and what happened there - really interesting insights. We then did the hike up which took us around 2 hours. Eagle's Nest itself is fascinating and the views at the top were stunning. We took the bus back and enjoyed the views on the way down. Thank you Claudio for a brilliant day.

Claudio was wonderful. From the confirming phone call we made the day before, until the end of our tour he was perfect. His English is very high level to include USA English jargon and idiosyncrasies. He is a great teller of history, a political science major, and provides a great balance of potentially politically charged topics. He is able to read the clientele, from physical ability standpoint, and a cultural standpoint. If you want the best, schedule your Salzburg to the Eagles Nest Tour with him. If I could give him 6 stars I would. Cheers Claudio. The hike is very challenging due to a 20% grade increase. Most mountain hikes in the US are 5-8 % with more switchbacks. The footing is perfect packed pea gravel, so that part is fine. We had a great day.

The hike was challenging, very beautiful and eye opening. Claudio, the guide, was very patient and encouraging. He is an expert on the area and history there in. We are so glad we accepted and completed this challenge!

I absolutely can not say enough about this tour! Claudio is so knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. I learned so much history! The hike is beautiful. We enjoyed every minute- even the extra climb to the top. ( elevator was out) Thank you for taking us up on the ridge!

Claudio was well-spoken, thorough, and knowledgeable on the historical side of the tour. Covered several topics and showed us multiple artifacts not covered by the museum or by the bus ride. He was encouraging and provided timely and thoughtful advice with regard to hiking and shared with the group his very unique story during the climb. 10/10 would recommend, a truly awesome experience with a fantastic tour guide. The hike was moderate but our group managed the 4.0 miles and 1,600 feet of elevation in 2 hours at a moderate level of exertion.

Incredible journey for the day. Our guide, Claudio, was a wealth of history and information to keep us all engaged and asking questions. The time allotted was perfect for us as well. Would definitely recommend for small groups, couples, or solo travelers alike.

It was a great hiking experience to Eagle's Nest for me and my family. Claudio is a very good experienced guide. We first booked on Aug 27, but Claudio contacted me to reschedule on Sept 1 as the weather for Aug 27 was not good weather for hiking up there. That was a very good suggestion. The weather was cool and bright on Sept 1, very good view up there at Eagle's Nest. The hike is mostly on paved roads uphill. During the 2.5 hours' hike, Claudio showed us many interesting historical spots and gave us lots of historical background. He was patient with our pace and fun to hike with. I highly recommend this hiking tour.

Claudio was a fantastic guide and really knowledgeable! He was very helpful beforehand when i had some questions about where to meet. And when on the walk, he was brilliant, answering all our questions about the Eagle's Nest and the history of the area. The hike itself was wonderful and I'd strongly recommend this to anyone who is planning on visiting the Eagle's Nest. THe hike isn't that strenuous and the views are magnificent. We couldnt have hoped for a better experience (aside from the constant rain and occasional heavy wind gusts). Claudio was enthusiastic and very well informed about the history of the area. He was very well prepared to make the experience still very enjoyable despite the inclement weather. He also was enthusiastic to address any other questions we had about local restaurants and culture in general. We 100% recommend this adventure to others and plan on coming back to do it again (hopefully with better weather).

Our guide, Claudio, was just amazing. He ensured everyone from the fastest of hikers to the most laid back of hikers was comfortable and having a good time. He was incredibly knowledgeable about history, which is high praise since I have studied the Second World War quite extensively. The hike wasn't easy, but definitely worth it. It was a wonderfully unique way to visit the Eagle's Nest.

A fantastic tour. Claudio is a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable about the entire history of the area, and very encouraging when the hiking became challenging for me. The views and scenery are fabulous all the way up. When we reached the Eagle's Nest the view took my breathe away. This tour is a fantastic way to hike in the Alps. Claudio pointed out many points of interested that we would have been missed if we had taken the bus to the top. I highly recommend this tour.

Hiking up to the Eagles Nest with Claudio was an incredible experience. I started to get a little concerned about my ability to hike up the mountain as we stood at the base but Claudio was great about matching pace and stopping to point out things if interest to give me a little break. His knowledge of the WWII history was exceptional. Getting to go off the trail and see the remains of the communications bunker and the hut that first brought Hitler to the area never would have happened on a regular bus tour of the area which is what made this tour extraordinary. Claudio is a first rate guide and I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get up close and personal with history!

Fantastic hike today with Claudio! It was a very pleasant ~3 hr hike up to the Eagle’s Nest once we arrived by bus in Obersalzburg. Claudio did an excellent job of blending the historical aspects of the area along with the splendid views and commentary. I was a little apprehensive about the bus connections from Salzburg, but Claudio did a great job of helping navigate the system and traveling on the bus with us for a portion of our time together. Highly recommended!

Reaching the summit was the ultimate after a great hike and talk hiking up. Our guide did a great job with our pace and he was very knowledgeable.
