We had a lovely time learning about Truffles and Truffle hunting with Taiga and her person! The samples at the end of our tour were amazing.

Whether you know a bit or more about truffle go enjoy a crash course, truffle hunting and tasting at la maison aux mille truffles. The staff is friendly and put you immediately at ease. Nicolas and his dog Taïga are funny and incredible team to observe and learn from. If you are in Burgundy you need to embrace the full scale of what the region has to offer and La Maison aux Mille Truffles will definitely help you to discover the gastronomical jewels Burgundy can offer you.

It was supposed to be an English presentation but the presenter spoke in French 80% of the time. There should have been a card identifying each of the tasting items in front of the tray. That way I would have been sure of what each was and I might have considered buying something. As presented not worth the $. I would not recommend to others.

Interesting experience but not as much out in the woods with the dog searching as I thought there would be. The chap was friendly, spoke good English and was very knowledgeable . Mostly inside with explanations and some sampling. Lovely area and it was Ok but wouldn’t rush back.

The presenter was really funny and informative. His dog Taiga was adorable and full of energy! However, im giving a low rating because the description is misleading. We did not go to the forest to search for truffles but instead we sat there for an hour listening to a lecture about truffles and spent roughly 20 mins having a demonstration of a hunt in the garden. There were also more than 10 people in our batch so it was a bit crowded. Again, the presenter was really great! I learned a lot from him and he was very entertaining but if you’re expecting to go spend an hour and a half in the forest to witness an actual truffle hunt and maybe get a few miutes rathen than an hour of briefing then I would not be recommending to book this activity

Fun afternoon to learn about truffles - what they are, how they grow and how they are harvested, and why they command such a high price. We also learned how dogs can be trained to find truffles, and we saw a live demonstration of "truffle hunting" by Taiga, the oh-so adorable 8-month truffle-sniffing Portuguese Water Dog. At the end of the demonstration, we also had a truffle tasing - and the truffle crème brûlée was out of the world! Our guide Nicolas was super funny and could really do standup comedy!

The dog is smart and cute. The programme is informative. And there is a nice simple tasting afterwards. It would be even nicer if the dog does a real search, which I understand it's quite impossible.

It was good. There was 1hr lecturing...😩 I would want the show of truffle hunt more than the class.

Great way to learn about truffles. And the food sampling was wonderful! While it was fun to watch the dog in action searching for planted truffles, we were slightly disappointed that we didn’t venture into the woods for a more “real” truffle hunting experience.

Thierry is a wonderful person and this is a great tour to learn all there is to know about French & Italian truffles! It's about a 30min drive outside the city and I was able to get there by a Taxi. This also includes a very tasty assortment of truffle snacks and there is a shop here where you can buy all things truffle. They also have a truffle shop in the city of Dijon called La Boutique de la Truffle by l'Or des Valois, even if you don't do the tour please to yourself a favor and buy some truffles in the shop! They are super helpful and knowledgeable, they also include recipes that the products are recommended to use in.

Our group had an excellent time at this unique and very interesting experience. We learned all about truffles, from A-Z, and watched a demonstration of a truffle hunt with Thierry's entertaining dog in the woods. And then: the truffle feast! Absolutely outstanding food with a kind and competent staff. I can verify that the chef is talented and inventive, and can come up with solutions in no time! Many thanks for a memorable time!

I learned a great deal about truffles and I really enjoyed looking for truffles with Julio (the dog). The tasting menu they had was amazing. I wound up leaving with a lot of truffles and I'm certainly going to be using some of the recipes they gave me. Thierry, the host was very informative and kind.

On a beautiful fall day we drove to this little farm in the Burgundy hills. We know a little about truffles, but have never had them, except for the chemicals in olive oil, which is not the real deal. To a small group, host Thierry and son Jan explained a lot of science about these rare fungi, complete with PowerPoint. In the woods out back Jan explained this was a demonstration, not a real hunt, for security reason; poachers steal truffles if they know the location. The first dog Julio could not get motivated to hunt (it happens), so they brought out Elfe, another Lagotta Romagnolo, who was very game, and found the truffles that had been buried for her. Lunch was salad with shaved truffles, chicken in truffled cream sauce, truffled mashed potatoes, two cheeses and profiterole with truffle ice cream. Tasty, but maybe a bit too much of a good thing. I appreciate the love and care that goes into creating this kind of travel experience.

Rencontre d’une gentille équipe, de Nicolas qui est passionné de truffes et de Taïga, sa meilleure amie! Des personnes accueillantes et intéressantes, j’ai appris bcp de chose sur la truffe ! La dégustation était très bonne, mention spéciale pour le beurre à la truffe. Un grand merci pour ce moment ! J’ai hâte de faire mon beurre à la truffe moi même, merci pour la recette 😉
