After arranging bus transportation for us from Verona, our DOP Olive Oil visit was amazing. We received individualized attention from our hosts, explaining the history of the place and why it was special. The olive oil tasting was paired with 3 glasses of Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde‘s wines and a cheese and meat platter. We got to share our visit with another wonderful couple that we met during our time there. All in all, it was a highlight of our wonderful stay in Italy.

Great experience! Highly recommend. Excellent explanations of wine making and show of the olive tree. The additional wine tasting was a great surprise and we enjoyed it immensely. The oil tasting was also interesting: I have a better idea what to look for in an EVOO.

This was a really fun tour at a beautiful family vineyard. We enjoyed touring the vineyard with our guide. She was very knowledgeable about the area, vineyard and history of the land. The olive oil tasting was delicious and we enjoyed the wine. Thank you so much!

We booked this Olive Oil tour with our friends and family, because we read the amazing reviews about how families got to learn about the process of making olive oil. We thought the 3 kids in our party (ages 7, 10 and 12) would love this experience. But sadly, what we got was some kind of combination tour -- most of the people on our tour were there for a vineyard tour and wine tasting... and that is what they dedicated 95% of the tour to -- with a couple of minutes thrown in to talk about how olives are grown. We never even heard about how the olive oil is made, didn't get to see ANY of the process, and when we asked, we were brushed off. We did get an olive oil tasting at the end but it felt rushed and the person leading it left to deal with the wine tastings so that we had to do the tasting by ourselves. Honestly, it felt like the tour operator was overwhelmed and had too many things going on. She seems nice, and was knowledgable about wine, but that is not the tour we wanted or paid for. The adults already knew plenty about wine and the kids were bored out of their minds. I texted her at the end of our tour to let her know we were disappointed by our experience and never heard back. Sadly I can't recommend this tour. Perhaps they had an off day or the person who normally does the Olive Oil part wasn't there, but I feel like they could have been honest about what was going on.

Great service. It started with them picking us up after we had taken a bus to the wrong valley. Peaceful, idyllic, good food, good wine. and very nice people.

Directly from the bus pick-up, the ‘tour’ started. He told me all about the region and its history while driving to the vineyard. The atmosphere was very welcoming and it really showed that everyone at the vineyard is passionate. The history of the area but most of all the company itself was fascinating. The tasting was great and the wines were amazing. Even though it was rainy and cloudy, the views were breathtaking. I really recommend to go!

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! The owners are so nice and could not be more helpful and friendly. We paid a bit extra for some pasta, bread and dessert. The food was delicious and the olive oil was amazing and a learning experience how they differ.

We really enjoyed this tour as we saw an old olive tree and a grove of new ones. Even got to taste an olive right off the tree. We also saw how they processed the olives and storied the oil along with being educated on producing olive oil. Then we sat down and sampled 4 different olive oils from around Italy. You can definitely taste the difference. We also tasted 3 different wines from this winery. Our guide was great in educating us about the region too. Everyone at Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde were so nice to us and all theirs clients.

The absolute highlight of our holiday! You know something is good when want to leave a five star review whilst you are there. This was exactly that. We did the olive oil tour and - wow - what a wonderful experience. The travel was simpler than expected (we were staying in the centre of Verona), just a bus ride away (€2.80 each way). The tour was relaxed and informative - our guide was brilliant!! Thank you! We then concluded with the most wonderful tasting of olive oils with bread, wines, meats, cheeses and pate. The setting is sensational and encapsulates the romance of Italy. I could not recommend this more highly to anyone looking for a tour/experience in the area. Thank you all so much! Laura and Wil

This was such a great experience! The views are spectacular and Anna was a wonderful host. She told us so many amazing facts and stories about olive oil. The olive oil tasting was incredible!! You can’t beat that taste! Do not miss this experience! It’s a stunning place. Even on a hot day, it had a wonderful breeze. We loved it!

We had a wonderful morning through to lunch at this beautiful vineyard. The family were so hospitable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We tried different olive oils with super fresh bread after a lovely tour round. And then tried some delicious wines, salami and cheese as well. We weren’t rushed and there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything but you can buy the wine and olive oil they make here should you desire. In our opinion the wine and Olive oil was the best quality you’ll sample anywhere. Our tour guide was such a lovely man. We could not fault the experience. We also had a lovely chat with an American couple that we shared the tour with aswell. We would really recommend this experience. Many thanks for a wonderful time at your beautiful vineyard. A thoroughly enjoyable and informative experience. We were greeted by two gracious and friendly hosts. The tour around their grounds was incredibly informative and eye-opening, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. The tasting of the different olive oils was a brilliant experience in itself, and the knowledge we were given on the tour really helped for the tasting. We were able to sample olive oils from around Italy, local cheeses, meats, chutneys and their lovely wine. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend!

A wonderful stroll through the nearby wineyard and olive trees. We had a "private" tour, as noone else had booked that day. Tasting of olive oils from north to south of Italy, including their own olive oil. We opt'ed for the olive oil tasting since we were driving and brought our 2-year-old daughter along. Small luncheon provided with wine.

For our last afternoon in Sirmione we decided to make the 45 minute drive into Vapolicella country up the tiny roads into the hills for an olive oil tasting with wine. We were met by Filipo who once introduced made us an espresso in the wonderful cosy "office" and then took us for a wander around the olive groves and vineyard. He was a fantastic host and extremely knowledgeable, taking us through the whole process. A tiny family run business spanning 6 generations. The most wonderful weather too giving us spectacular views and at the end of the day a wonderful sunset. The cellars and the red doors that hid a suprise of all the prized wines. Ending in the tasting of the oils and wine with a selection of cheese and salami. I can not recommend this experience enough, and then of course you get to take some home! They do ship easily to the UK and other destinations.
