I highly recommend the Rebel City Tour – it was the highlight of my family’s visit to Cork City. Dara has an outgoing and engaging personality: he immediately welcomes you as a friend. He has a great enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and love of Cork City and Irish history. During the tour Dara shared interesting stories about County Cork’s heroes, we learned how to pour a “perfect pint,” visited the city’s oldest pub, and met a living legend. The tour was a fantastic and memorable experience.

The tour was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide was Dara and from booking until we left Ireland. He was nothing short of spectacular. He’s very knowledgeable of Irish history along with making sure you get a memorable experience. Both my girlfriend and I are legally blind, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best experience ever. I wish more tours throughout Ireland had employees such as him. We will definitely be recommending this tour to all of our friends and family. Hopefully we can even have Dara as a private tour guide in the near future.

Trying to book this tour for July 16th 2024, but it is saying its a minimum of 4 people and there are only 2 of us? Why? Can we not book for 2 people?

Dara gave us such an incredible tour this past August and really shows not only his love for history, but also his love for Cork City. I also loved the inclusivity he showed throughout the tour through the people he spoke to, and about. One most interesting stories that he highlighted the women of Cork city that led the revolution there and how he emphasized their successes and impact on the city’s history. Another aspect about Dara that was very special was how he took the time to talk to each of us as well and get to know us and our story while he told his.

I absolutely loved this tour. If you are interested in the Rebel history of Cork this tour is a must!! Our guide Dara was brilliant. He is a great communicator and really brought the stories and sites to life. I left with a great appreciation for the cities history and the desire to learn more. A really great time!

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to go on Dara’s Rebel City Walking Tour. We’ve been on a lot of tours in a lot of cities but it’s no exaggeration to say that this tour is unique, very enjoyable but also thought provoking. To begin with, Dara is a warm and welcoming guide with a real passion for his city. We were a mixed group of different ages, nationalities and fitness levels and he put everyone at their ease, even memorising all of our names with amazing speed. The tour itself was absolutely fascinating. Dara related some of the most painful moments in the history of Cork and her people with vivid detail and humanity. He took us to some interesting places which we might easily have missed. Most of all, he helped us to understand the particular spirit and atmosphere of the city he clearly loves. We would really urge anyone visiting Cork to join this special tour. It was a definite highlight of our visit. Thank you, Dara.

Guys, up your game. Being from South Africa , I booked weeks in advance. To be phoned on the day to be told that the trip was off, and then, after I made alternative arrangements with family, to be called back and told that its on again, is not acceptable. Surely you must know that international visitors have and itenary and be juggled around like this! Shame on you.

Dara is an outstanding guide to Cork City's history. Well-organised, committed and knowledgeable, Dara tells the story of Cork with great drama and humour. Even a biblical downpour failed to curb Dara's enthusiasm. If you want to understand what makes Cork folk tick, do yourself a favour and book this trip. Rick, Sept 2023

Wonderful tour with Dara. Very knowledgeable, charismatic and welcoming. He gelled the whole group together magnificently so it was like taking a walk with friends. I highly recommend this experience. We always go on a walking town when we visit a city - and this was one of the best.

Dara was a ray of sunshine on a drizzly day in Cork. He is charismatic and described the events in an enthusiastic and interesting way. I would recommend the tour, even though he was a lot more generous to the British side than I would have been in his place! (For the record I am British.)

Oh my goodness Darra(sp?) is a fabulous leader! He is so animated, enthusiastic and excited to talk about the rebel history of Cork! What a story teller! Darra made our learning and exploring SO much fun! And he led us to a really old cool pub! He is one of the best guides we have ever had on a tour and I forgot to tip him!! Sorry, Darra!
