Amazed at our first time experiencing safe yet thrilling dirt biking. The bike and equipment hire with 2 hours of tuition might seem a bit expensive, but with a total of 7 hours there is so much time to enjoy this to the fullest and then some! If you’re like us, a family of four with a 5 year old girl and a 8 year old boy, they will usually end up sitting it out by 3-4 hours tops. We had a rainy day, so it too wet and wasn’t safe to ride the B track. However the learners track had plenty enough to keep the family entertained. I’ve got a lot of road biking and some track day experience, so the learners track was getting boring around the 3-4 hour mark, however the second hour of tuition post lunch was totally worth the wait. Learnt to safely ride steep hill climbs and descents. Wouldn’t have imagined attempting those climbs and descents we did if it weren’t for James getting us ready for them. Very addictive and already looking to buy a second hand bike to save some cost and do this more often. Thanks Mandy, James and Finn from Thundercross, our family felt welcome and really well looked after!

What a fantastic experience! My son Nate had such a rewarding day, he had two hours of motor cross training by James. Nate is 14 and a big boy so had to learn on an adult bike and James was excellent at coaching and helping Nate overcome any challenges he faced. The whole day exceeded our expectations, from the stunning farmland to the awesome people, so friendly and professional! I highly recommend Thundercross Valley and will definitely be spending more time there in the future!

James and Mandy made the experience even better. Such kind people and James so patient and knowledgeable with my 8 year old son he didn’t want to leave even despite the rain! Will definitely be back!

We and another family had hired dirtbikes for a day along with tuition. (mix of kids and adults) The facility, bikes, and instruction are top notch and can't recommend this place enough. We will be going back for sure! Keep up the good work!

The ride was great tracks were in good condition a little wet but that helps keep dust down all tracks were good and staff were very good and helpful

What an awesome experience. We took my nephew who is 6 to hire a bkie. He is a difficult lad to handle and james and mandy who run the place were the best with him. They have the patience of a saint and provided an amazing experience for him that was safe and most importantly fun. I dont know of any other place in NZ that provides what they do. Full tuition, bike hire, safety gear hire, ice blocks, and even some merch on departure. Highly recommend this place if you want to give your kids or yourself an unbeatable experience!!!

Took my partner there as she had never riden before. James was a perfect coach. Not only did she learn to ride by thr end of the day she was hooked and competent. Great people, beautiful place, awesome hospitality and a thrill a minute. Go there, go there soon.

James and Mandy were amazing, i was lucky enough to have a double lesson with James, i am hooked and will be back. The wool shed cafe was a glorious hang out spot for a break.

What an amazing place! Located just over an hour away from the city, this farm feels like its in another location all together. On arrival I got greeted by super friendly host Mandy, who showed me around and made me a cup of coffee, while i was checking out an introduction video. After that James, very knowledgeable and patient guy, instructed me on first steps towards the Dirt Biking. And then it just laps around gorgeous farm with occasional cow guest on the track. I was only on learners track, which is tiny, and there are two more, way way larger ones. The selection of bikes for rent is amazing, as well as protective gear. Im definitely coming back here, again and again.

All the team were super friendly and made you feel welcome. I did a lesson with James he was the best coach! I am in my 40's and always wanted to give it a go but was a bit nervous...the lesson was great I felt comfortable and safe and got to progress at my own pace. There is plenty of spaces and tracks for all abilities so you don't feel intimidated. It was so much fun I am still buzzing a day later. I plan to come back with my 18 year old daughter and totally recommend it to every one any age. What a neat place I cant wait to visit again.

Wow this was special. So so good. My son can now ride a clutch dirtbike. It was extremely good. Mandy was very good to do with aswell.

My first time ever on a dirt bike and I loved it!! Thanks to James's patience and excellent tuition, fuelled by coffee and Hot Cross buns from delightful hostess Mandy, I got a full day on the bike and even managed a couple of laps around B track! I wasn't sure what to expect, but they got me kitted out and sorted with the perfect beginner bike. The learner track was a great place to practice my new skills (even if I was getting lapped by the mini people), before braving the recently rain rutted B track when the crowds had dissipated. Now the hard part of figuring out my schedule to get back up there!!

Money well spent! James was fantastic with the kids, teaching my son and daughter to ride a motorbike. Thank you James and Mandy for an awesome 13th birthday for my son, he rated it his best birthday to date!

Best fun you can have on 2 wheels! James was a great coach, very knowledgeable and patient. Great bikes, excellent tracks. Excellent hospitality! Both James and Mandy made you feel so welcome.

The place is wonderous! We were greeted by friendly helpful folk who you can tell know exactly how to cater for all levels of rider: my girlfriend was the true sense of the word novice - never started a bike before our visit, and with James' help, was ascending/descending some pretty impressive gorges by the end of the day. So much progress in one day, a great workout too! Great place, great people, well equipped. Thanks so much!

We had our work Christmas party here, its in a fantastic location with amazing views, The tracks are awesome with heaps of different terrain for any skill level, we had a full catered lunch and the staff were fantastic!!! highly recommended. We will be back!!!!!
