There was plenty of fish and coral reef to see at both locations. We also saw some dolphins on the way to the snorkel location. We saw some sea caves on the way back.

It was great being on a small vessel which allowed us to get closer to the shore to view sea caves and arches.

This was a great snorkel adventure. I have never seen such a great variety of fish. It was nice to have our captain comment on sights along the coast on the way back to the dock.

Great excursion. Great spots. Just the right amount of time to enjoy everything. Pick up would be good to offer for thr future. It was a hassel getting a Ride to the place from hotel.

Captain Steven and Darcy were so nice and accommodating. Snacks, water, and gear all provided. This was a calmer boat ride but I took Dramamine the night before and morning of and the sea was a lot flatter. The tour is absolutely great with a lot of views of lava tubes and caves made by years of erosion. The only sad part was that we only saw one small sea turtle, no dolphins but the fish and eels were all out!

Had a fantastic time out on their morning snorkeling trip. Booked directly on site with them and from the booking process right through to the actual trip it was fantastic. A very nice team that run the tour and are obviously enjoying their jobs and interactions with their customers. Would highly recommend them above some of the other tour companies that run bigger catamaran style trips out of Kona.

The snorkeling was amazing at both sites--very clear water and lots of marine life to see. Brendan and MJ were our crew, and they took great care of the 9 guests on our trip. The boat was comfortable and did not feel crowded; it had a locker to keep our personal belongings dry, and drinks and snacks were provided. Traveling along the coast to and from the snorkel sites, we got up-close views of several sea caves and other interesting sites. Overall I would definitely recommend!

This snorkeling trip was amazing and easily the best I've ever been on (I've done a few while visiting other Hawaiian islands). Our captain Brenden was knowledgeable and entertaining and he helped make our experience the best it could be. We saw something like 13 whales (!!!) over the course of the morning and also got to see three manta rays swimming by. Brenden was super flexible about slowing down and circling back to give us a chance to enjoy seeing all the wildlife. Even with all that we still had plenty of time to snorkel and the two spots we went to were beautiful. We saw a ton of fish, a turtle, and an octopus. We even heard the whales singing to each other from underwater. Truly a once in a lifetime trip. Thank you Brenden and Kalea!

Looking for an adventure? How about seeing beautiful tropical fish and underwater landscaped coral? How about looking through crystal clear water? I was looking for an adventure that could allow me to snorkel and actually see sea life. The Big Island is a magical place for sea sports and a really different experience for the better. I live in Oahu and many of the popular places are inundated with polluted sunscreen and oils that muck up the beaches. It's very sad to see the effects these products do to marine life and growth. Fortunately, the best way to see coral life blossoming is to visit the Big Island and go on a valid tour that will bring you to these places. To finally see the vitality and variety of fish was so satisfying I wanted to stay longer. With the help of Hawaii Activities the travel agent helped me book a tour with Sea Quest Hawaii, I was excited. The day before SQH called me to confirm and mentioned lunch selection choices. Nice! Food and snorkeling wow! Arrived the following morning after a nice drive along the coast to the facilities. Met the front host Marlene I believe is her name. Super friendly with a beautiful smile. She gave me instructions and assurances about the trip. A total of about 10 people came aboard our boat with a capable and professional captain. Everyone was very informed by the captain as well as the crew about the environment landscape landmarks fish life and precautions. The first stop gave me goose bumps because I was nervous. Never been this far out from shore. Once in the water, my eyes opened up to some of the most beautiful underworld I've ever seen. I've seen YouTube of many places that I wished I could experience but now I was looking at it. Luckily, I had a Insta360 camera to record video. Bring a camera! Perfect day, perfect conditions, crystal water, amazing fish and healthy coral formations. So if you are ever deciding to go on a snorkel tour, I would highly recommend Sea Quest Hawaii!

We did the Manta night dive and the morning snorkeling tour with Sea Quest. We went with MJ and Kim in the water on the night dive. We were all super nervous but with good jokes and friendly competent guides, we all got in the water and pretty quickly forgot all our fears when the mantas arrived! It was amazing. 2 of our kids did get sea sick even with calm water and had to go back to the boat but they did get some time in with the mantas. Our morning snorkel tour was with Brendan and Kalia. The first spot was ok, but the second at the captain cook monument was incredible. Brendan was a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide and we got some whale watching done on the side! I will say, for our party of 5, these tours get very pricey but it was worth it and I would highly recommend. No regrets whatsoever, worth the money!

We were a family of 4 (with 2 kids). The experience was outstanding. The crew of Kaitlin and the captain (whose name I don't recall) were super welcoming. We were first time snorkelers and Kaitlin patiently helped us through the process. Besides, the whale sighting was quite good. The entire trip was peppered with historical insights which made the journey special. Would highly recommend this tour.

Sea Quest Hawaii offers the absolute best tour in Kona for active adventurers, hands down! This is our 5th time visiting Kona and regardless of whatever else we may do, we always schedule the Deluxe Morning Snorkeling Adventure with Sea Quest Hawaii. This year we brought our Salisbury Cruise Club group on our Hawaii Cruise with NCL and 41 of 100 our group members enjoyed this tour with us. EVERYONE had the biggest smile on their face when they dropped us off at the pier and thanked us for organizing this tour. We saw whales and dolphins right next to our boat during the boat ride and were treated to turtles and thousands of tropical fish at our 2 snorkeling stops. And on the return trip, we got up close and personal with sea caves and lava tubes along the gorgeous coastline of Kona. The captain and crew were so knowledgeable and accommodating and kept us well hydrated and fed with juice, fresh fruit and snacks during the tour. And this year was especially challenging for Sea Quest as the ship completely changed our itinerary and we arrived in Kona on a completely different day. But Sea Quest Hawaii was still able to accommodate my group with 3 boats to ensure that we didn't miss their incredible snorkeling and coastal adventure tour in Kona. Trust me, you don't want to miss this adventure!!!

This was a premier snorkeling experience. We had about 45 minutes at Captain Cook and 45 at 2 Step (forgive me, the Hawaiian name escapes me). We were up close and personal with a turtle and ray at 2 Step, as well as many types of fish. Jill, our driver and guide, directed us to her favorite (and less populated) section of Captain Cook. It was like an aquarium. We were surrounded by a multitude of different fish and saw some different types of coral. Definitely one of my best snorkeling experiences. On the way out, a number of whales performed for us and on the way back a large pod of spinner whales circled us several times. This was an unexpected and very welcome addition to the trip. We saw many types of sea caves and Jill gave us an explanation of each. She was also very helpful with our equipment and put us at ease about all aspects of the trip. She shared a wealth of knowledge about the area - history, geology, wildlife, etc. We also enjoyed the snacks - especially the fresh fruit. There were only 6 of us on a pontoon boat so it was very personal. The boat was easy to exit and reenter with the snorkel gear. We enjoyed everything about the trip and highly recommend it.

Captain Steve and MJ were a great crew! Love the 5 hour trip and all the stops including many to watch the humpback whales. I highly recommend this company! Been out about 5 times on these boats and always a great experience.

We had a great time. The swells were big but the Captain was great and so was MJ. Tons of fish to see. Great snacks and fruit and drinks. We had fun. Have gone with SeaQuest before and will go again!!

You will NOT regret using Sea Quest for your adventure. They are fantastic. First, it is easy because they actually have a place on the pier/dock/boat ramp, but second, they are very professional and organized and deliver a great experience. The snorkeling is fantastic. The boat ride is easy (if you get seasick, take something before going), and they took great care of us. If I go back to the island, I will use them again. On the deluxe tour, you will nose into small sea caves, get two snorkeling sites, get lots of open ocean, and depending on the time of year, see whales. And there are only a few people on your boat, so no crowds!

Brendan and Adam were fantastic hosts on the boat and took us to great snorkeling spots! They were also very knowledgeable about the area and we loved learning about the island. Highly recommend!

We were on the snorkeling tour with Natalie, Kaitlyn and Rachel. They were very helpful, kind and considerate. They went out of their way to teach first time snorkelers and boost confidence. The overall experience was amazing!

We have done a lot of day/half-day snorkel trips through the years, and we were very impressed with Sea Quest Hawaii. The online reservation system is easy to use, and the team called us when there was an unexpected need to change the date (well in advance). The directions in the email, and dedicated parking, make the morning easy. Check in was great, with a lovely gift shop. Once we were on our way with Skylar and Kourtney, the trip was great. They focused on getting us to good conditions in the two snorkel spots, were attentive (but not in the way), and ensured everyone had a nice trip. The boat has a maximum number of guests, and we were happy that this was not reached (10 guests for our trip). Between snorkel spots, they pointed out key aspects of the scenery, gave us snacks, and told us about the history of the island. The snorkel spots themselves were great; calm inlets with different coral formations and fish. Great day.

The Sea Quest snorkeling tour was awesome! We had great snorkeling at three different stops. It was nice that we were a small group—the maximum number of people on a tour is 12, and we had just 9. The stops were well-timed so that we had plenty of time at each stop, but when it was time to move on we were ready, too. And the crew, Adam, and captain, Brendan, were great. They were always there to help and to answer questions. Brendan, the captain, shared both history and geology and brought us up close to many of the caves that have formed along the shore. Finally, they were attentive to the different skill levels of people on the boat—helping out those with less experience, and making everyone feel ok about their skill level, whatever that may be.
