An absolutely exceptional day! (I do not use that term lightly). I was picked up from my AirBnB in Tirana at 8.50am. I had the privilege of being toured by Genti. We spent 2 hours talking about the history and politics of Albania on the drive (in a very comfortable electric car) to Berat. We did a beautiful walking circuit of the town, took some brilliant photos, and then enjoyed a nice cold diet coke each. We then drove up to Berat castle with its stunning views and incredible Byzantine church. One of Genti's friends is the caretaker of the church and he very kindly gave me some more insight into the history of the building which is really quite special, the original frescos are extraordinary. We then walked through the old castle town and concluded with a coffee and small glass of Raki (for me only) overlooking the landscape. We then drove to Belsh Lake, again supplemented by Genti very kindly giving me some more insights into life in Albania, including his memories of the fall of communism in 1991, which I found fascinating. We then hopped on it back to Tirana so I could visit a couple more attractions on my final day. Genuinely, an incredible refreshing day, I probably haven't done it justice with the review. Before my trip, I went through and meticulously researched all the tours from Tirana on Tripadvisor. Let me save you that research time, because you've just found the best day trip from Tirana! (Yes, I didn't go on any others, but let's not get caught up with technicalities).

The city , the view , the history ,, we are very suprised about albania ,, its like u have a mixed on contries in just one country ,, amazing view amazing places ,,, and the history of berat castle was beatiful ....

I did this day tour in October 2023 as a solo traveler. Belsh was quiet and peaceful; Berat was the highlight of the tour. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this day tour. It was a seamless experience; I was picked up from my hotel in the morning and back in Tirana for dinner. Ledi, my tour guide, was charismatic, funny and knowledgeable. Sirma, the organizer, was helpful in organizing the logistics of the tour and my airport transit. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Our guide Arian was phenomenal- on time, very accommodating, knowledgeable, great English speaking, and kind. We had a great day visiting an interesting castle and the town of Berat. We learned so much more about this wonderful culture and history. Thank you!

This tour was really amazing, this is definitely something to do when you visit Albania :) the view from the Castle and the villages. Our guide, Gjergj, was great ! This experience would not be the same without him. We started the visit in English and then, he switched to French (our mother tongue) to make it easier for us (we did not know that French was also possible, so good to know for the future).

Great guide, very informative and attentive to our needs and wishes! Took care of us very well and accommodated what we needed without any fuss!

My congratulations to the amazing office staff at Choose Balkans. I couldn't have gone on the tour without them going out of their way to accommodate me. The tour was perfect, great variety and a wonderful ride thru the Central Albanian landscape. My amazing tour guide Gezim gave a running commentary of the agriculture, history, especially of the effects from WWII to the 90s, and life in general today. So glad I was able to experience Berat. An excellent company.

We decided to book this tour very last minute (9pm the day before) and the team at Choose Balkans was super accommodating and put the tour together for us right away. Our tour guide, Zamir, came to pick us up from our accommodation and we ended up having a private tour with him. Zamir was super accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our tour was only supposed to include visiting Berat and Belsh Lake, but upon hearing that we wanted to go swimming, Zamir took us to a beautiful beach and even lent my boyfriend his swim shorts. We enjoyed our tour very much and would recommend booking with Choose Balkans!

Everything from the moment I booked my private tour was professional and efficient. I was sent messages before and after the tour. I learned about the history of Albania as well as the current culture and traditions. It was well paced and the places chosen for lunch and ice cream were excellent. Taulant, my guide, was knowledgeable and personable. He shared a lot of insider information that can only come from a local. I would request him again for the next time I visit.

I loved my tour to the lovely cities of Berat and Durres and really enjoyed seeing a little bit of Albania beyond Tirana. Armando was an excellent tour guide who never rushed the tour and taught me a lot about Albania - it’s people, history, society and geography. The car journey was very comfortable and there was ample time to stop for photos, rest stops and food when needed. Before the tour, there was excellent communication from Sirma in Choose Balkans to confirm pick up times etc. Although this tour looked a little pricier than some others advertised, I think it was absolutely worth it given the great guide, comfortable journey and very good organisation. I would not hesitate to book another tour from Choose Balkans if/when I return!

Albania is truly underrated as a travel destination. So little information is out there. We where really lucky to find out about choose Albania agency, they promptly replied all our Enquiries and gave all all information. I would like to thank Sirma for organizing everything for us and doing all coordination. Our first trip to Beret and Canyon we had Guide/driver Eri. He is truly the best . Very knowledgeable and make you feel very welcomed and confortable as he take you on adventure of Albania .

The whole experience from start to finish was smooth. Brikena from the booking team made sure I got picked up and she even followed up after I had the tour. The guide Gerion 'Geri' was prompt and knew the city very well. He was conscious about time tables and the weather.He showed me the most most interesting paintings in the Onufri museum and where to get the best shots of the city. Surely a visit not to be missed while you are in Albania.

My experience was extremely positive. I coordinated with Sirma from the main office and she answered all of my questions regarding travel to Berat and other tours.
