Our guide, Israel, was outstanding. We had some issues connecting with the tour because Carnaval closed so many streets near our hotel, but the tour sent an Uber before and after. Appreciated that! Of course, Sugarloaf and Redeemer were the reasons for our touring. In the memory banks!

The sights were great and the guide was very kind. The bad: Very small bus, tour started an hour late, the lunch was as terrible, we selected an English tour but the guide only knew basic English

Communication and organisation of the tour guide was very poor which led to constant cofusion about where and when tour group members should be at the end of each activity during the tour. This also wasted a lot of time unnecessarily. Hotel pick up in the morning covered geographical dispersed area and took 90 minutes to complete which is too long. Overall tour experience was well below normal.

We waited at the destination to be picked up and tried to contact the Tour operator several times. All of the calls I made went to voicemail. I called Viator and was able to talk to somebody, but they would not refund my money for 72 hours it’s only been 24 hours now, but I still don’t have a refund and no correspondence regarding a refund.

It was fantastic to see the many sites of Rio and well worth the trip. However, too much time was spent collecting and dropping people off. The ‘guarantee to skip the lines’ did not occur at Christ the Redeemer where we had to wait in line for an hour and too many people at the top. However it was worth it

With just only just over a day to spend in Rio, we wanted to see the tourist highlights of the city. We booked this as it included everything we wanted to see in one (long) day. Be prepared for a lot of queuing when visiting Sugar Loaf Mountain and the statue of Christ the Redeemer. This is not the fault of this tour, but the nature of many thousands of tourists wanting to see the same sites at the same time. The tour guide was well organised, knowledgeable, friendly, professional and kept up a high level of energy throughout the day. She enabled the waiting for these tours to be bearable. There was more than enough time spent at each location and we we did not feel rushed at all. The lunch was a fairly basic buffet, but had a good range of Brazilian and western foods. The tour was full, but the bus which was well maintained didn’t feel cramped at all – although if you are a larger sized couple the double seats might feel tight. This was the prefect tour for us to see Rio and I would highly recommend taking it is you do not have too much time in Rio. Tour taken 3 November 2023.

Full day of activities. Marcio was amazing and he knows his stuff. He was easy to talk to and he kept the group together. Definitely worth your time. It is a very full day so be prepared to be exhausted but in a good way.

A little disorganized to start over starting time but the tour was great. The tour guide was very helpful and it’s a long day but hard to beat with lunch included.

Marcio was such an amazing guide. Really made it easy to remember the facts of the city. So glad we got him. The church, the stairs, christ the redeemer and even sugar loaf mountain in the rain was such a wonderful way to see this city we have waited all of our lives to come to. I wish I had listened to the negative reviews and not booked this. The guide never picked me up, and then when I called them, they ended up sending me an Uber and not telling me where it was going, and I don’t speak Portuguese. At the second location where the Uber dropped me off (a random area of town that didn’t feel safe), the guide was not there. I had to find somewhere safe to go inside and call the guide. He then demanded i come to find the group at their first stop and was extremely rude (despite him forgetting to pick me up). He spoke no language, despite my paying for an English speaking tour. We could only communicate because I speak Spanish so we could sort of understand each other. I finally demanded he come get me because I wasn’t comfortable walking around this area with my phone out, and he came to get me and was very inappropriate and touching my arms and putting his arm around me. He then put me in another Uber again not telling me where we were going. Eventually it became clear that this company overbooked the tour (there were more than 20 people on the tour), so he threw me in Ubers to meet the group at each stop since there was no room in the van. At one point, he got in a fight with one of the Uber drivers who told him he couldn’t do that, and they were screaming at each other in Portuguese, then the Uber driver sped off with me in the back seat. The driver dropped me off in a random location and screamed at me to get out of the car. This was one of the most horrific and terrifying experience, and despite all this, viator has not returned my money. Absolutely DO NOT take this tour. Every single person on the tour wants their money back and is so upset to have wasted a day of their vacation on it. Everyone hated our guide and agreed he was horrendously inappropriate and unprofessional.

This is a scam. Don’t book with them. We payed for a whole tour around the city with lunch and we ended up only doing two places without lunch. It’s been more than a week after the tour and we haven’t had a proper response about the refund we’re supposed to get.

The first tour bus that arrived to collect us was not for our tour. The next bus - which we joined - we were with 18 non English speakers and a guide we could barely understand so little/no opportunity to mingle with others. We had booked an English tour and asked to be moved to another tour but the guide refused. None of the sights we passed were explained to us and we had to repeatedly ask for what was being said in Spanish /Portuguese to be translated. Lunch was dreadful - a very over crowded place serving buffet of poor quality food that was not hot. Guide very off hand until the time he explained in detail, in English about tipping guides. Contacted the tour operator to express concerns during the tour and subsequently but no response then or since other than to say 'don't know 'what happened that day', so brought the issue to the attention of Viator as the tours we booked through Viator in several other countries have been fine.

There’s something about adversity that brings people together. Our guide, Lidia, was said adversity. Tour started late, initially cancelled on some members, and missed multiple stops. Hey, things happen, but I wouldn’t have minded if we got a halfway decent guide. Pretty funny how openly hostile she was (think angsty stepmom who doesn’t want to associate with her new kids), nearly to the point she was trying to avoid being with us. Didn’t bother to tell us about the area and its history. Didn’t/couldn’t answer questions—ask about the Brazil-Uruguay war memorial if you want her to walk away after an uncomfortably long pause. Didn’t learn much from her, but sure did from overhearing/sharing our plight to other tour guides around us. She really had it out for us 😭😂 Two stars because the driver was great and I was with an awesome group. If I didn’t squander my only day in Rio de Janeiro on this trip, the humanness of the group making the best of our collective frustration and us breaking language barriers in doing so would’ve made this a really memorable day. BOTTOM LINE: I don’t doubt that the other guides are fantastic. But I still wouldn’t book this tour. You run the risk of landing Lidia.

Well informed excursion. Our guide Marcio was funny, knowledgeable and super friendly. The excursion takes you to all the major points with well thought out information. No hassle, beat the lines. Just sit back and enjoy without being rushed. Definitely would recommend this tour to anyone and comes with delicious lunch at a nice buffet restaurant

Reservamos súper tarde, 10PM, y las personas detrás del WhatsApp nos respondieron y ayudaron sin problema; sin embargo, el protagonista del día fue nuestro guía. Marcio, con su carisma y su gran dominio del portugués, español e inglés, se preocupa mucho por hacer que todas las personas entendamos lo que nos quiere contar y disfrutemos el recorrido. Yo hablo español y entiendo bastante inglés y puedo dar fe de que Marcio se esforzó en dar la información en ambos lenguajes sin perder demasiado detalle, cosa que lastimosamente sí he visto en otros tours que he tomado en otras ciudades. Por otro lado, el tour es un poquito más costoso que en otras agencias -pero lo vale 100%-, y muchos de los compañeros del tour no estuvieron listos así que demoramos un buen tiempo recogiéndolos, pero por esas cosas no creo que deberían arrepientan. Tuve poco tiempo en Río de Janeiro y creo que no hubiera sido Io mismo sin el tour y sin Marcio narrando toda la ciudad. Gracias! English: We had an amazing experience with this tour. We booked super late -10PM or so-, we wrote to its WhatsApp with no hope but they answered very fast and we could book without any problem; however, the protagonist of the day was our guide. Marcio, with his charisma and his great proficiency of Portuguese, Spanish and English, cares a lot about making everyone understand what he wants to tell us and enjoy the tour. I speak Spanish and understand quite a bit of English and I can attest that Marcio made an effort to give the information in both languages without losing too much detail, which unfortunately I have seen in other tours that I have taken in other cities. On the other hand, the tour is a little bit more expensive than in other agencies -but it worths 100%-, and many of the tour partners were not ready so it took us a long time to pick them up, but for those things I don't think you should regret. I had just a few days in Rio de Janeiro and I think it would not have been the same without the tour and without Marcio narrating the whole city. Thank you!

Our guide tour was GUIDO MARCIO, he was very a knowledge about all questions , and gave us full of History about Brazil, very passion for his work, professional, respect all passenger , very king and pation to, he knows all about any details from start to end, i was before at same tour , but GUIDO MARCIO was efferent , plus he gave us new information i never heard on my previous tour, he is excellent, amazing person with lot of aknowlage.. thank you GuIDO MARcio 10/10 star🙏🙏
