We did this trip before an organized tour focused on ancient Egypt (we had an extra day). While Alexandria is a reference to the downfall of the pharaoh's Egypt, our amazing guide, Essam (a University professor), gave us a lot of interesting information on both the Greek/Roman objectives we were visiting and on the overall context of the pharaoh's Egypt, that helped us better understand and plan the whole tour that followed. Had an amazing tour with Eslam and our driver Ashraf. They fetched us on time from our hotel and took us to see all the sights. Eslam saved us a lot of time by using his "Contacts" so we don't have to stand in lines for tickets. He was very knowledgeable about all the history and took some amazing photos of my wife and I. He never rushed us and allowed us as much time as we wanted to take in the sights and attractions. He was super patient with all our questions and requests and even provided some input to make things better! He bought us Ice creme multiple times as he could see we really enjoyed it and made a lot of funny jokes, but also taught us a lot about the country and the people. This tour made our 2 days in Alex amazing and i will definitely recommend this to anyone.

Zanaty was my guide for this full day tour and another tour that I booked with them. The 3-hour one way (6 hours both ways) drive was smooth and comfortable. My driver was very polite although he didn’t talk much. It’s a good day out and I felt safe as a solo female traveller.

My wife and I arranged for a private custom tour of Alexandria as part of a larger package we arranged through Deluxe Tours Egypt. Our guide and driver picked us up from our hotel and gave us an overview of Alexandria's history as we drove to our first stop, the catacombs. Our driver dropped us off at the entrance with our guide Mohamed. Mohamed secured our tickets and began taking us through the background of the site to provide us with appropriate context at the right level of detail without going too deep. As we descended into the catacombs, Mohamed ensured we took our photos from the best locations and covered the highlights for the key attractions. When we finished the catacombs, our driver met us at the front entrance and took us to Fort Qaitbay and then to the Bibliotheca. At each location, Mohamed was intuitive in providing us with information we would find interesting and entertaining. When we completed our tour, we said our farewells and our dedicated driver for the day drove us back to Cairo and dropped us off at our hotel. Overall a seamless and highly enjoyable experience.

We had an excellent day in Alexandria with Mohammed. He is getting his PhD, so he knows the history extremely well. He had an answer for every question we asked (and we ask a lot of questions!). But he also has a great personality and was good company. Highly recommended. We enjoyed every stop, but the Roman catacombs in particular blew me away. (Lunch and coffee was also excellent. He knows where to go!) Also, when we told him that our Luxor trip the next day had been canceled less than a day in advance (a different company failed to secure our plane tickets, even though we had booked in AUGUST), Mohammed helped us arrange a tour the next day of Sakkara & Memphis that we loved. We traveled with 3 senior citizens and 2 others including myself. Our trip to Alexandria was perhaps one of the highlights of the tour and Mohamed was our day tour guide. Funny, respectful, articulate, knowledgeable, and studying to be a hieroglyphics scholar, the way he read the hieroglyphics at the tombs gobsmacked us. He was definitely one of the best tour guides we had during our tour of Egypt.

The day trip to Alexandria from Cairo is a bit of a long day but it's totally worth it. Our guide Mohammed was a professional in the field and a native of Alexandria so he know very small details about the stops which were fascinating and all the ins-and-outs of the city. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in visiting. It would be nice to spend a full day in the city but our trip was compressed for personal reasons so this day-trip gave us everything we wanted in a tight timeframe.

Wagy very pushi person to take you where he gets comision, takes you to expensive places. Lunch very poor and you have to pay for the extras that they order and you don’t ask. No connection with restaurant and boring place.

He had a great sense of humor and was a cheerful person. I was very comfortable with him and it felt more like two good friends just hanging out in town. We did a this tour with Morsi as the guide and Ayman our driver. The tour was perfect. We enjoyed a lot, the explanation where super interesting and we couldn't have done it without the wonderful help of our driver. Both of them are really nice and helpful.
