Luis was a superb guide and the route took in key sites in the center of the city. He also made some thoughtful recommendations of other places to visit later which I added to my map (and we're great!). He was very clear and obviously has a great love for his city. I appreciated the historical and cultural context he gave for the sights we were seeing. This is a fantastic introduction to the city, like others have said it is well worth doing at the start so you have some places noted (and food to try!!) during your stay. Enjoy!

We had a fascinating walk through Oaxaca, at a good pace, wide ranging and interesting commentary. Gave us a great insight into the local culture, exactly what was required on our first visit to the town.

Our guide was knowledgeable about the history and culture of Oaxaca. We did a circle around the northern part of Oaxaca and it was a nice introduction so that we can now explore and choose the additional places to visit

Tour guide was wonderful. We got to see various neighborhoods throughout Oaxaca. I recommend doing this at the start of your time in the city.

Luis was excellent. We learned a lot about Oaxaca’s history. He was very considerate and flexible given that we had previously seen some of the sites. He arranged a parade in our honor. He was tons of fun!

Luis did a wonderful job of introducing us to Oaxaca. We did this tour a few hours after we landed and are so glad we did. He was excellent and we learned so much. It was really great to get a natives insider take on the city and to get oriented.

Just returned from Oaxaca. I took the walking tour on day 1. I ended up being the only one on the tour so it was great to go at our own pace. The tour guide was amazing... super friendly and explained things clearly. Highly Recommend.

I did three tours throughout my stay in Oaxaca. This one was ok, and I felt the guide might still be learning his way in how to interact with his guests. As far as the tour description, there wasn’t a traditional drink offered. Before ending the tour, I asked about a flag on the final church which the guide didn’t know. I asked my other guide who quickly explained it represented the Virgin of the Rosary and that the month of October is “La Virgen del Rosario.” Not my favorite tour, but I appreciated learning more about Oaxaca. For the price, I’d recommend since you do get an idea of where you may want to spend more time outside of a tour.

This tour is a great introduction to the city center. You pass by the major cathedrals and attractions in the area. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and also took us to a few authentic local places as well. Be prepared for a decent amount of walking. It's mostly flat but some cobblestone streets and uneven ground. Highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your stay to get a feel of the city.

We'd already been in Oaxaca for a couple of days before we booked this tour, and suspected that we'd already seen most of what there was to see. However, Luis took us to several places that we'd clearly missed and provided a tonne of context and information on local history, culture, cuisine and other places of interest. The pace of the tour was perfect and Luis was very engaging - the time flew by! We'd highly recommend this tour, our only regret is that we didn't do it towards the beginning of our trip.

Luis was a very knowledgeable and informative guide. In the two hour tour we saw all of the important spots in historic Oaxaca. He also gave us insights into the Mexican and Zapotec cultures. A bonus was two celebrations that we were able to witness during our tour. Music, dancing, fireworks and lots of frivolity. We also visited a Mescal tasting shop and were introduced to the method of harvesting and distilling Oaxacan’s favorite alcoholic beverage.
