We had an absolute amazing time on this horse riding tour. The family are extremely friendly and funny! They really do look after and put the needs of their horses first! You are matched to the best horse to suit you. Being an experienced rider I was matched with Victor who is a young horse, an absolute dream to ride even though they said he was the most challenging horse they have. My partner being a novice was given a lovely horse and had a great time. We had lunch with everyone and the food is the best we have had so far in crete! It just kept coming and we were treated to some lovely wine to go with it. You are able to buy your picture for €2 which goes to the care of the local dogs and cats. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was an added bonus! I would highly recommend this horse riding tour. My omly piece of advice is to wear trousers and closed toe shoes! The most amazing horse riding experience we’ve EVER had. The family who run this take the care of their horses very seriously, they are fantastically taken care of and you’re matched to the best horse for your experience and weight. They give you a traditional lunch after your ride and are just amazing in every way. When we visit Crete again we will 100% be returning.

Had a great time, I was picked up right on time by our tour guide who took us up the mountains to meet our horse. We were fitted with our hats and then asked some questions and asked to demonstrate a few things to show how much experience we had. We were then matched to our horse. I had Elvis he was lovely. We then went on our walk up the mountains and had a break at the top with juice & watermelon before setting back off down the mountain. Once down I was then given some time inside the school and then we had a lovely lunch before being taken back to our hotel.

Today we visited finikia horse riding. As horse owners ourselves from the UK and huge horse lovers we were taken back by the natural beauty of the place. The love these animals receive from their family was evident and we will definitely return one day. The horses were well cared for and so well behaved for all abilities. This trip has made my whole holiday. The food and drink and atmosphere around the table made us feel like we could have stayed there the whole week. 110 per cent advise this booking

Excellent little day out and totally suitable for beginners. The animals were all very well looked after and their names were quite unique. They will make you laugh. The staff were funny and friendly and made you welcome from the start. The meal afterwards was lovely. Homemade meatballs and salad served with a delicious wine. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day. Thoroughly recommend

Wonderfull experience, we booked the horse riding morning tour with a really well made lunch! We found ourselves in a beautiful enviroment hosted by a lovely family and professional co-workers. Everyone was very friendly and with a good spirit. You can clearly see they love their animals to the core, treating them with the respect they deserve! You can even book the early morning tour in the beach that I highly recommend! Beautiful tour, highly suggested 10/10

My favourite thing we did in our two weeks on Crete! The people are really, really nice and very funny. The horses are sweet and suitable for beginner riders. Great energy all around. Would 100 per cent recommend!

Irene and her family were very welcoming and hospitable. The views from the mountains was stunning and all the horses were very friendly! Would definitely recommend doing this if you’re staying in the area.

It was very nice, rarely had so much fun. Everyone was very welcoming and the food at the end was very tasty and familiar. The horses were also all very good and you don't need to be afraid of them. Only to be recommended!

1. THE Most beautiful and well taken care of horses that I have ever seen that is allowed to be ridden by the public. Usually, tour horses appear to be “old/broken down nags”. These horses seem well loved and well trained. 2. Unless you ride English style well, you will only be allowed to go the speed of human walking pace. The test for those who can ride well is to get the owner’s well trained horse to move. There were at least 3 people who regularly ride horses in our group and none of them were able to get his horse to move. This ranch literally has THE SLOWEST horseback riding that I have ever experienced. That being said, 1 of the 3 riders (who routinely rode horses) was a girl that fainted in the heat. Since the staff were walking next to the horses, he was able to catch her as she slowly toppled over from heat stroke. This leads to my next point. 3. Bring your own water. Even though the owners said that there was no need to bring your own water, bring extra water. Because it was so hot, the fluids that the owners brought over for us were not enough. 4. Best coleslaw and meatballs that I have ever had in my life!! I don’t even like coleslaw but their coleslaw salad was actually light and refreshing. Fantastic cook!! 5. If you have a sarcastic humor, you will enjoy your time at this Family-run ranch. For example, many of the horses had interesting names, such as Osama Bin Laden. I asked the daughter why some of the horses had “normal” names, like Helen, rather than weird names like Osama Bin Laden. She replied, “Well, Helen is named after my sister. So, now you know why”....which made all of us crack up. 6. Even though this was THE SLOWEST horseback riding ever, our family was constantly laughing the entire time. My husband said that he would rename this tour experience as “Spend an afternoon with a hilarious Greek family that happens to own horses” rather than a horseback riding tour. Because we laughed nonstop and enjoyed excellent company with delicious food (all made with their own grown vegetables), I would give this tour 5 stars.

From the pick up in the car, our driver was more then welcome and make as to fell like in holidays entertainting us with good stories and a big smile. For me it was my first experince for this type and all the people from the team send me good advices how to transform the first experinece in one of the best untill now. Heleni, our guide was the best leader, guide tour and make us to feel more then save and welcome. I really recomand this expereince for the horses, team, food, views and much more than that but you have to go to fell it by yourself Last but not least. Buy the photo from the end of the tour, they will represent the food for a lot of sogs and cats from the village ckose to the horses center

Riding the horses was an amazing and unforgettable experience, the people that work there are all lovely and you can tell that they love their job. We felt very welcome, like we were all a big family during the 3 hours we spent there. The view was breathtaking too. Definitely recommend it!

Oh my goodness this was an absolutely incredible experience for my 15 year old son and myself -- highly recommend it! Hosts are incredibly welcoming, and they take making your experience a positive one very seriously. They check in with each and every rider several times throughout the ride to be sure absolutely everything is perfect. There was a guest in our group who had never ridden before and was nervous -- the guide did not leave his side the entire ride... and he had a wonderful time! Horses are very well cared for and well behaved, and facility is lovely. If you're going to ride here, do yourself a favor and opt for the full experience including the after-ride meal -- you will not regret it! The meal is all home cooked, freshly prepared, and exquisite.... and the host ensures everyone eats plenty and has a good time. No one left unhappy!

My daughter is an experienced rider but my husband and I are non-riders. We did the morning mountain trek with lunch. Everything was perfect. The horses were gentle and very well cared for. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and very entertaining. On return from the mountains, my daughter was able to ride the horse in the arena., prior to us having a delicious home-cooked lunch. We also did a beach ride with the stables, reviewed separately. I would highly recommend this tour for the scenery, the food, the hospitality - a great overall experience and good value for money. We had such a great time and we highly recommend Kreta Finikia og Giouchtas Mountains Ridningstur med frokost. Really kind and competent people, beautiful happy and healthy horses, delicious homemade food and wine, gorgeous ride up in the mountains. Great for both beginners and experienced riders. We loved everything and will certainly come back to also try the early beach riding trip next time😍

Absolutely amazing trip, I am a beginner but I felt very safe and informed and my girlfriend is an experienced rider so got to go for a faster ride after the group walk. Beautiful scenes and lovely people.
