This was the best day!! The communication prior was clear and the meeting arrangements were perfect. Our guide Juan was so great! he gave us a really good introduction to the history of gold, emeralds & jewellery in Colombia, he was engaging, funny & friendly! During the workshop he was helpful, happy, patient and supportive. The workshop itself was SO good, the masters are really friendly, super supportive of your ideas, they allow you to be totally hands-on doing all the steps, the atmosphere is really uplifting and positive, the mood is fun and it’s such a great day! I would recommend anyone visiting Bogotá to do this experience!! Five stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (the ticket cost comes with a free stone, they offer alternatives at extra costs which I bought, see photos. There is absolutely no pressure whatsoever to purchase theses though)

One of the best things I did in my 3 months of travel around South America! Juan was an excellent guide he taught me a lot about the history or gold and emeralds in Bogota. I was surprised at how hands on the workshop was, I pretty much did every step myself which was amazing, I expected that the professional jeweller would do most of the steps but I got to do all of it other than attaching the claws to the band and placing the emerald in. Such a fun experience and i’m so happy to have such a beautiful ring to keep

What a great experience! You get to do it all from melting the silver, pressing silver into a wire and filing. Someone is helping you through it all so don’t be afraid. Everyone is so kind and I loved it.

Loved this activity! We got to make our own rings guided by patient and friendly masters, and learn more about Bogotá’s history and culture. This was the highlight of our stay!

It was a nice experience and I ended up with a nice ring. Just check you are booked in as I was not and had trouble locating them even though I had prepaid for the experience. Also be aware that the stones in my ring were not included but were extra, only one small stone was included

Participating in the emerald ring making activity was an absolute delight! From start to finish, the experience was both educational and enjoyable. Master jeweler, Carlos was knowledgeable and very patient, guiding my fiancé & I through each step with precision and care. The selection of emeralds provided was stunning, allowing us to create truly unique and personalized pieces. The atmosphere was relaxed yet focused, making it easy to immerse ourselves in the craft. By the end of the session, we walked away with beautiful emerald rings that we handcrafted ourselves, filled with pride and satisfaction. We were late to the excursion at our own fault but Andrea and the team were super accommodating in getting us caught up and jumping into the experience! It was way more hands on than expected and the dedication and care everyone took in helping us create something we would love made for the best experience.

I would highly recommend this experience. Nick and Carlos made the experience even more incredible because they were so pleasant and helpful. I had chosen my ring design prior to my arrival from their Instagram page and wanted it for my small ‘pinkie’ finger. The day started with Nick meeting me at agreed location and while walking to the jewellers giving some history of emeralds and Columbia. On arrival, we were asked to choose our emerald and off we went through each process individually to make our rings overseen by Nick and jewellers, in my case Carlos. Thank you both for a wonderful experience including the banter and chuckles.

My boyfriend and I went to this experience and it honestly was so fun. They really walk you through every step so you get the ring you always imagined or wanted. The price includes the sterling silver metal itself and a small emerald. My boyfriend and I both opted to choose a larger emerald (better clarity, color, and size) which does cost more (you pay basically the cost of the emerald you choose if you want to upgrade. My boyfriend emerald was I believe 1.04 karats and mine was 1.27 karats auge slightly more weight on each I can’t remember exactly) but we paid $1,040 usd extra and it was totally worth it. They engraved both of our rings for free which made them even more special. They offer it in English which was extremely helpful as my Spanish is limited and my boyfriend does not speak any Spanish. If you want a special keep sake that is beautiful as well as an amazing experience to do with your partner, friends, family, or even alone I can not say better things about our experience here!!

This was such an amazing workshop. I’ve had some experience silversmithing before but this was on another level. Carlos, the jeweler, was soo intricate with his work and I LOVE how my ring turned out :) I paid a little extra for another emerald. I also loved learning about the history and Colombia’s relationship with emeralds. Amazing!!!

My husband and I traveled to Bogotá for our honeymoon, and when we learned about the make your own emerald ring jewellery experience we felt it was the perfect way to commemorate our trip. We did this our very first morning. We really enjoyed learning about the history of emeralds in Colombia, and then the hands-on experience of making the rings. We got to pick the stones, pick the design, and be involved in every step of the process under their expert guidance. We chose to upgrade our rings to have extra emeralds and use gold, and they were transparent about pricing so there were no surprises on cost at the end. Juan also gave great recommendations on other things to do in Bogotá and made sure we knew where we were going for our next tour. We love our rings, highly recommend!!

This experience was excellent! The ring I made was for my daughter but I might keep it. Juan was or guide, and he took his time explaining the history of emeralds as we walked to the shop. At the shop you do the work, with the help and guidance of a master jeweler, to create your design. This is a must in you visit Bogota..

What an incredible experience! Our tour guide Juan went over a little history and walked us through the key areas of the jewelry district before we went up to the workshop. The jewelry masters helped with the really detailed work, but we did most of the steps on our own and made probably 75% of the ring ourselves. I was solo, along with two guys who were also by themselves. Juan and the jewelry masters made the entire experience very personal and comfortable, and it felt like we were a little family in the workshop. We were able to design the ring totally from scratch. I paid extra for 18k gold and a bigger emerald ($489 total for the pictured ring). Silver and a smaller emerald are included in the tour price. But it was completely worth it to me to upgrade because I got exactly the ring I wanted, and when else will I make a ring with my own hands? This tour is probably my favorite memory from my first time in Colombia! I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Juan or guide was amazing. He gave us history of gems and influence on jewelry in Colombia before the class. We walked through a gem stone trading street and learned about other precious stones. He talked about the lore of emeralds and their influence on Bogota and Colombia culture as a whole . Then we went to the jewelry studio and met with several jewelry masters. We could choose gems that are included in the price or add more or pick other larger ones. There was no pressure or upselling, it was all your personal choice. Silver was included in the price, if you choose gold you pay extra by gold price and the weight you use. All prices were discussed ahead. None of us ever felt pressured or like were taken advantage of. Then you are assigned a master who you work with based on your own personal designed ring. You start with melting your silver into an ingot. You are then taken through the process of hand forming, shaping, polishing your ring. The master is there to help assist you and to especially help set the stones properly. It was an amazing experience and when finished you have a ring that is unique to your own design. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

It was wonderful the guide was very knowledgeable on gold, silver and emeralds and its relation to Colombian history. The workshop experience was very unique and everyone there was super sweet and humorous. The only thing I would is they should offer gloves (for the sanding specifically) and a face mask for people just as a precaution. I didn’t ask and they maybe they would’ve provided them if I did but that would be my only constructive criticism. It was amazing, thank you!

Had a really good time and in which I was guided by the experts in them helping me make up me the ring from a sketch I did. Got the melt the silver/stretch/sand/bang the ring into shape, setting the stone (left the the master experts), final wash and polish. Well impressed with my afternoons work in producing a beautiful contemporary ring!
