What a nice time we had! It ended up being just my husband and I, so a private lesson. There was a mistake with the listing, the 3hr class started at 3pm not 2pm. Once we were able to communicate with the operator, he came quickly and was apologetic. We started off with a tour of the Rcif market. It was wild! So much going on, lots of sights and smells. We tasted fresh goats cheese, olives, pickled items, and freshly made crepes. After all the sampling I was afraid I wouldn’t be hungry for dinner! We arrived at Palais Fes Yahya, the family’s home & restaurant. The whole family was so friendly, kind, and welcoming. Their mother demonstrated cooking the tagine and salads while her son translated. She also let us help do some of the prep work. My husband took notes so we’ll hopefully be able to recreate the recipes at home. When the meal was ready, they brought it up to the rooftop for us to enjoy. Overall an awesome experience!

Abdul and Fatima are a lovely couple who - along with their family - open their home to share Moroccan cooking and traditions with you. There was a glitch/mix-up with our registration, so we weren't picked up as scheduled, but when I contacted Abdul, he immediately rectified the situation, and we were picked up within 30 minutes. (And even with that inconvenience, I'm still giving it five stars - that's how good it was!) He then took us on a tour of the food market at night with several tastings. We'd been warned as tourists not to be too adventurous at the market and not drink the water, but Abdul was sensitive to this, took us only to reputable and clean stalls, and provided bottled water; none of us had any issues afterward. We were making tagines, and he encouraged us to share what foods we liked or didn't like so we could tailor the recipes - we had a vegetarian, a gluten-free, and someone who didn't like seafood in our group, and he accommodated all of it (although reminders were understandably helpful for them). We even picked out our own veggies and fruits to try at the market and to use in the recipes. The cooking class with Fatima (Abdul's wife) and Fatiha (his mother) back at their guesthouse/hotel was delightful - we were encouraged to help, and we wrote down recipes to take home. The setting (the tour photo doesn't do it justice) was absolutely gorgeous, built in the 1500s and covered in fabulous mosaics. We also had wonderful conversation with the family about life in Morocco. Then the best part - we enjoyed a variety of appetizer salads and two different tagines (all of which we'd helped to make), and then dessert in the beautiful rooftop restaurant of their guesthouse. This tour was perhaps the highlight of our week-long trip through Morocco (we were on an organized group tour but booked this class during a free evening, and we liked it MUCH better than the optional excursions on our tour!), and we would HIGHLY recommend it to others. It was beautiful, authentic, and meaningful - not to mention DELICIOUS!

This is by far one of my favorite things we did in Morocco. The whole family was kind and patient with us cutting the vegetables and showing us step by step how to make the Tagine. They made us feel included and answered all our questions. It was also fun to taste various foods and drinks in the market/medina while picking out the fresh fruits and veggies to cook!! It was a lovely home and amazing people!!!

Abdul and Fatima were very gracious hosts. After shopping at the souk, Fatima allowed me to assist in a wonderful authentic meal. This was exactly the type of experience I was looking for. Wonderful people and a wonderful time!

From visiting a local market in the medina to shop for seasonal produce to learning family recipes and cooking techniques, this Moroccan cooking class is not to be missed. You'll prepare some appetizers, the main course, and a dessert at the chef's home. The 4- to 5-hour class concludes with a sit-down dinner. We all enjoyed the delicious food we prepared together. This cooking class is elevated by the chef and her husband's warmth and passion. Food lovers should not miss this cooking class.

This was such a wholesome fun family experience for all! Abdoul comes to your Riad and picks you up for the adventure where he and Fatima open their home for the day to plan out the meals you’d like to cook, if you’re lucky you may even get to meet their baby boy Yaya! You then proceed to the souks with Abdoul to get all the fresh ingredients for the salads and main meal and are able to stop and try foods or juice that tickles your fancy along the way. After you work with Fatima to prepare the dish and learn all the secrets to enjoy the most delicious food you would of had in your time in Morocco! Highly recommend this authentic experience with Abdoul and Fatima as they are lovely humorous locals who make the journey all that more fun for everyone! Abdoul is very well connected and will also help with anything else you may need and it’s also just nice to have a local contact for your time in Morocco!

I really loved that it was in their own home. They made the experience very personal and told us stories about themselves. Fatima made the shopping list with us and asked us what we want to make and eat. Abdul took around the Medina to buy all the stuff we needed. After we spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing all the salads and the chicken tajine and desert. Afterwords we all sat down and ate all our food. It was a feast!!! Abdul and Fatima really made it special and I would 100% recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much Abdul and Fatima for today. I’m still in a food coma!

Abdul and Fatima were exceptional hosts. Shopping and trying new foods in the souk for the dishes was a great experience. The food was amazing and was the best we’ve had in our stay in Morocco.

Truly an authentic experience that cannot be matched. We’ve traveled around the world and seen many countries and tours. We’ve never felt the need to leave a review until now. This was an experience that we will not forget. Abdul was an amazing guide showing us the best parts of the souk that only a local would be aware of. We tasted all varieties of olives, cheese, crepes, and other snacks. He took us to a hidden vegetable and fruit market that had the best tasting tree ripened cherries, peaches, apricots, and plums. Once we arrived at his home, we started working on a meal with Abdul’s wife Fatima that turned out to be better than any other meal we’ve eaten in Morocco. We chose to cook an authentic couscous, something that is not possible to eat in any restaurant given the many, many hours required to prepare it from scratch. We firsthand experienced the necessary subtle steps of hydrating and fluffing (while the couscous was still scaldingly hot) of the couscous to ensure the utmost quality. We had no idea why couscous was so complicated to cook before, and now we really appreciate the attention detail it requires. We have so much respect for Moroccan women and the work they put into the happiness and health of their families. We additionally prepared 5 different salads of roasted eggplant, roasted pepper, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and shakshuka. For each one, Fatima went above and beyond to show us how to prepare, cut, and mix each vegetable perfectly, precisely how she learned to do it from her mother. I’ve never cried cutting an onion before but I sobbed uncontrollably in this experience after cutting the freshest onion in my life. We learned how to prepare and customize the herb dressings to best fit our palate. After this experience, we’ve eaten at many other places in Morocco and we could precisely how the salads at other restaurants were made and how they were just not up to the standard of Fatima’s cooking directions. Restaurants just do not put in the same amount of effort and care. Abdul and Fatima are an incredible duo that really cares that your experience in Morocco is stellar. They are proud of their culture and wish to show others the best that their country can offer.

Awesome esperienze with Abdoul and his wife Fatima. Abdoul will acccompany you throw the Medina souk to buy the ingredients and taste some local specials to then go at their house where you will cook the amazing meal with his sweet wife fatima. Prepare yourself to cry while cutting lots of onions, but i can assure you it’s worth the price. If you need anything during your stay in Fes, Abdul will kindly help you to fulfil your wishes. Extremely reccomended

Abdul took me to meet his wife, Fatima at their house inside the old Fes city. Fatima was willing to teach me anything I wanted. I selected Chicken with lemon and olives. Eggplant salad, tomato and green pepper salad, carrot salad and a simple cucumber and tomato salad. I went shopping with Abdul in the souk and he showed me a bakery, free range chickens and the best olive and preserved lemon stall. He was informative and chatty. Fatima was wonderful. Just like my sister. We did everything together and ended up with a delicious meal, recipes and invitations to come again and ask them anything.

Abdul picked us up with a friendly smile, ready to guide us through Fes. As we made our way to the market, Abdul explained every corner we passed, always ready to answer our foreigner questions. In the market, besides shopping for dinner, he made sure we tried a variety of local foods straight from the source, needless to say, all of them delicious. Once we arrived to their house, Fatima made us feel home, and we got straight to the cooking lesson where she was patient and kind as she explained what to do. In the end, we had a delicious dinner where we ate enough for our entire stay. All in all, thank you Abdul and Fatima for your kindess and for showing us the Moroccan way.

Abdul, Fatima and their son are a lovely family. They took so much care of me. The experience started in their house were te invited me toa mint tea and we sat to discuss the dishes we were going to do. The Abdul took me to the market for the shopping needed and explain me about their culture and way of living. He let me try mani typical things: bread, cheese, sweets, prawns... It was amazing to be able to shop and see the market with a local. When we got all we need we went to their house again and got in the work. Fatima is an excellent cooker and explained me everything in the different dishes. We prepared different salads and chicken with onion, lemon and olives as de main dish. We also prepared something sweet for dessert. When everything was cooked we sat and eat. It was delicious. I did some notes on the recipes and hope to be able to do them to my family soon.

WOW! This was by far the best meal we’ve had since arriving to Morocco. Abdul and Fatima welcomed us into their home for an authentic, memorable and delicious experience!! We were greeted by tea and cookies to talk about what kind of food we wanted to learn to make, and then shown around the souk to pick out the ingredients. We learned how to make a full, three course meal that included a variety of starters (two kinds of spreads & two kinds of salad), traditional couscous and pudding for dessert. Fatima is brilliant in the kitchen, and taught us about how to bring out the best flavours in each dish! Not only was the food delicious, but the company was lovely as well. Abdul and Fatima were super friendly and helpful, they were also very careful to cater to our different food allergies and dietary restrictions. I’d highly recommend this tour if you want to learn how to cook amazing Moroccan meals in the most authentic way possible. What an amazing experience!!

This was an amazing and authentic experience. You truly get to experience life like a local. We shopped in hidden market spots and received one on one hands on cooking lessons from a pro. Not only that but the family was super fun to be around. Really enjoyed our home cooked fun.

After meeting with Abdunebi I got to walk through the Medina learning learning more about its history and ways of ancient living. We arrived at his house and met his wife Fatima which made a list of ingredients to buy from the market. I was first treated to a traditional mint tea with cookies and afterwards we went on foot to the marked with basket on hand and ready to begin this adventure. We stopped at many small shops where I got to learn more about the ingredients and the people at the shop. Once at the house we began to cook by roasting peppers. We prepared two salads first a cooked pepper and tomato salad, second we made a fresh tomato and cucumber salad. We made two side dishes: first, cooked carrots in a Cilantro and parsley sauce. Second, fresh cheese mixed with spices rolled on zucchini slices. As a main dish we made a lamb tagine with prunes in an onion sauce. For dessert we made a vanilla and chocolate pudding with layers of tea biscuits. Through the experience Fatima will give me more details and was gave me time to take notes of what we were doing and the amounts of ingredients/spices we were adding. This was a great experience and the best part was the feeling of being part of a Moroccan family while I learned about its culture, food and hospitality. This was my favorite experience in Morocco.

Homestay Cooking Class was a fantastic experience for my family and myself. Falling in love with the various traditional cuisine, these affordable cooking classes were a fantastic opportunity to not only learn new sets of skills but absolutely enjoyable and fun. Homestay Cooking was able to accommodate our group over several sessions that we booked in advance. We enjoyed learning and preparing Couscous dishes both with lamb and some with vegetables (the long steamed carrots thst melt wow) for our vegens. A range of Tagines, salads on colossal levels and my personal favourite Harira... Hot steaming rejuvenating Harira that was made using the chefs secret recipe. Skills that I have been able to learn and will cherish. The staff are fantastic, multi lingual and make the sessions extremely interactive and fun. A variety of dishes to choose from. Hygiene is very good also. I highly recommend these classes for everyone. Cook... Learn and then Bon Appetite! Bismillah!

This cooking course was absolutely outstanding! Abdul and Fatima were fantastic hosts who gave us a good overview of the Medina and clear instructions and recipes that my boyfriend and I will certainly take home with us. We’ve been in Morocco for three weeks and Fatima taught us how to make all our favorite dishes (and taught us two tagine instead of one for no extra cost because she declared our favorite too simple to justify a whole course and taught us both) and they were the best we’ve had. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon/evening in fes

My boyfriend and I had the best meal we’ve had in Morocco so far, cooked by us (ok, largely Fatima)! This outing was one of our favorite activities we’ve done together and was a great way to get more comfortable in the souks to start, and then to learn to cook all of our favorite dishes. Fatima and Abdul planned the meal based on our tastes and it was truly outstanding, and they were wonderful hosts and dinner company. Strongly recommend!
