I went on this tour in April of 24. The logistics were all fine and our guide Andrea was fantastic. It was a cloudy day so didn't see the Volcano in all it's glory, but did not take away from the tour at all. We saw wild horses, an Andean Fox and the beautiful park. I did the hike to base camp. I wanted to turn around multiple times as it was not easy, but it was so clouded in I still might be up there lost so I finished it and the achievement was great. 58 year old, in average shape, but every person might have a different experience with the elevation. The lunch we stopped at was fine, but was a memorable day and recommend, even if you don't do the hike.

Everything went as planned and even on a cloudy day it was extraordinary. Andrea was the perfect guide. I didn't know if I could get up to 16k ft, but when I did was exhilarating. Lunch was good and 6 people was perfect sized group. I highly recommend.

Ladies and gents, I'm normally not the type to write a review, but in this case I absolutely have to! THE GUIDE Communication was very easy to set up the pick up time and meetup location in Quito. We met with Ernesto who inspired confidence as soon as we shook his hand, always had a smile on his face and has really good vibes! He knows absolutely everything and has a ton of information to give about the country, legends and of course Cotopaxi. Not only is he a great guide, but truly a great human being. He even offered to take pictures of my aunt and I with the landscape which he sent us right after to cherish the incredible experience and have everlasting memories. We didn't feel rushed and we really appreciated it. THE EXPERIENCE Easy drive from Quito to Cotopaxi with stops along the way to get food, water, go to the bathroom, etc. We passed by the interpretation center in the National Park where we got a ton of interesting information on Cotopaxi before visiting. Heading out to Limpiupungo we had the chance to see some deers, wildhorses and many birds along the way, a great spot for wildlife and an amazing view of the volcano. We eventually made our way up to the parking and had about a 45 min walk up to the top. Slow and easy is key if you are not used to high altitude or have a coca tea before (highly recommend). Got up to the top and admired the view from above which is breathtaking. We were really lucky to have a clear beautiful day. On the way down we had the opportunity to run into a cue wolf :) Ernesto then takes you to a restaurant for a well deserved meal which was truly excellent. I would give a 6 star review if I could. This is definitely a must while visiting the beautiful country of Ecuador! Cheers

The hike was a great challenge with beautiful views. We also stopped at the lagoon and saw lots of wild horses. Our guide Diego was fantastic and also brought us to a great lunch spot on our way back to Quito.

Ernesto is one of the greatest guides I ever had! Lot of information during all the tour, always with a smile in the face and offering to take pictures! Gave us enought time to do everything, stopping in all the points we asked and pointed animals during all the way! 100% honest, knows everything about cotopaxi and loves climbing mountains and volcanos! Excellent restaurant for breakfast with good prices. Gave us a gift at the end of the tour, totally recommend him!!

Hiking up Cotopaxi volcano was amazing! The views were absolutely stunning. It is a bit strenuous hiking at this altitude, but totally worth it. The restaurant we stopped at after Cotopaxi was very good and prices were very reasonable. I would pack a snack because we did not get lunch until around 4 pm. Our tour guide Irene was great. She went out of her way to make our day special.

We toured Mindo, the equator and Cotapaxi with this organization. They were to flight. Always on time. Always prepared. Very considerate (they even brought my son’s hat back and left it at the front desk). I highly recommend them!

It was a fantastic day with excellent views, we were lucky to have sunny weather which isn't always the case - prepare for anything! Adrian was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and enthusiastic and a great help on the hike itself. I've done lots of hiking before but this was the first one at altitude, you definitely notice the difference! The best advice is to take your time with the hike, great advice that Adrian provided. I'd definitely recommend this tour if you have free time in Quito.

It was a good tour. I had Pablo as the Driver and Andrea as the guide. Both were fantastic. Knowledgable, warm, friendly. The only thing to be advised about is that I was on a tight schedule and Viator lists this as an 8-hour tour, and its actually a 12-hour tour. If you want a more efficient experience I'd recommend asking the company for a private tour. Great trip. Chulla Vida!

Veronica was a good guide and Jimmy a good driver. Definitely a very bumpy ride at times on the way up the volcano inside the park! Veronica loaned a hiking pole to whomever needed it. I will say the high altitudes are real! Consider prescription from your doctor or things like Coca Tea. Absolutely stunning views throughout.

My family of 4 (youngest child 11) really enjoyed this tour. Josue was very enthusiastic and kind. The hike was definitely challenging due to altitude and cold wind, but the hot chocolate at the top was delicious and worth the hike. Lunch on the way home was also very good. Overall a great day.

We recently took a tour to Cotopaxi from Quito (booked thru Viator) offered by the Quito Tour Bus company with extended family (party of nine so we had the van to ourselves). Irene was a fantastic guide for our tour. She kept the entire trip both fun and educational! We made a stop inside Cotopaxi National Park that allowed us to pick up the necessary outerwear to make the hike to Refugio José Rivas (our luggage hadn't arrived with us in Quito so we didn't have appropriate clothing for the hike). Once we got to the trailhead, not all of us wanted to hike to the Cotopaxi base camp (Refugio José Rivas) using the same trail and she did a great job of keeping an eye on both groups as we ascended (Pro Tip: Ascend using the switchback trail and descend using the more direct but steeper and looser trail just below the hut). We made a stop at the lagoon on the way out and then stopped for lunch (there were a number of options that we could try on the menu) and some of us tried eating guinea pig while others settled for chicken plates, etc. Great time! So glad we did the tour.

We had a beautiful day at Cotopaxi National Park, so that we were very fortunate in that. The views of Cotopaxi were stunning as we got closer. The hike to the Base Camp was challenging because of the high altitude. We began at the parking lot at 14,700' and reached the Refugio Jose Rivas at 15,953' to be exact. We are in our 60s and fit hikers and we were well acclimatized having been in Ecuador for 3 weeks before this tour. There were people who had just arrived in Ecuador who did not do well with the altitude and had to descend, so know yourself and be wise about the elevation. We wore hiking boots and used our poles, which helped a lot because much of the soil is soft and unstable. Otherwise, it was a short but exhilarating hike to the Camp - it took us 30 minutes. Others took longer and, as I said, some turned back. The weather was fabulous on our ascent but turned for the worse while we were at the Camp. The clouds came in and our descent was foggy and drizzly with little visibility. After the hike, we toured the museum and walked the lake and had a nice lunch. It was a great day and our guide, Josue, was fabulous and took great care of everyone.

Cotapaxi is amazing and a must visit - one of the most beautiful volcanos/mountains you could see let alone climb. The guide, tour company and group were just fabulous. Such personalized attention to detail and I cannot complement them enough. Thanks to my guide Jessica and our driver Freddy

The tour was exceptional, our guide Josué from the beginning of the day was very optimistic and with a lot of knowledge about the volcanic activity of Ecuador, he told us several interesting facts about the volcanoes in Ecuador and the adventure we were having in a volcano in rash!! The day was sunny so we saw the Cotopaxi Volcano in its splendor, it was just magical to be there! Thank you Josué for your great dedication to teaching us everything possible during the tour and thanks to Mauricio for keeping us safe at every moment.

We did this tour on a trip to Ecuador. It was amazing, our guide Jess was the best. She had such great energy throughout the whole day. I would definitely recommend this tour If you are in Quito views were amazing, the waterfalls, zip lining and seeing the volcanoes and all the sites while driving into Banos.

We were a small group of Seven travellers, the guide Dany was very nice and talktive. We made It to Cotopaxi as a group, it wasn't easy but slowly we could reach the refugio. I would have enjoyed to walk around the Limpiopungo Lagoon to see the birds but there was no time for that. Maybe It would be better to skip the breakfast stop and begin earlier the tour.
