What a great day! Time passed so quickly that I didn't even realize it was almost 5 p.m. when we got back to Quito. It was an amazing horseback ride and base camp hike (I traveled with two others from the group, and we finished in 48 minutes). At various points, I really thought I wouldn't be able to make it, but we did. It was a challenge, given the high altitude. Be sure to get the hot chocolate at the base camp and bring your passport for the stamp. It was an amazing day and adventure, well organized by Jorge and the local hosts. I'm glad we were contributing to the local community as well. Such simple people, with a love for animals and nature. I'm so glad I got to see Cotopaxi both on horseback and on foot.

This was a fun experience. Jorge was very friendly and professional. The horseback riding was relaxing and offers such nice views of Cotopaxi! The hike up to base camp was fairly short but quite difficult and finished off at base camp with great views and tea. I would definitely recommend this day trip!

Jorge's tour of Cotopaxi is second to none! I wanted to get more in touch with the more outdoorsy activities while in Quito and this was everything I wanted and then some. The views of Cotopaxi was absolutely AMAZING! And enjoying the scenery on horse back made this trip that much more extravagant. For anyone that wants to escape the touristy tours and enjoy something along the lines of nature in Quito, do not hesitate to give this tour a shot!

Amazing day trip! Challenging hike to the top of the glacier, but 100% worth it. The horse riding portion of the trip is also a lot of fun. We enjoyed learning about the local culture and taking in the amazing views.

Really cool experience. unbelievable views it felt like something off a movie. riding horses to the mountain, wild horses everywhere. I mean over 100 horses. amazng water streams. beautiful views all around. if you're in Ecuador make this a stop. you wont regret it. Even if you're not, make this a must go place before dying

This was an amazing trip. Cotopaxi has incredible scenery and unique biodiversity. We even saw a condor. Jorge was very helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I really enjoyed learning about the local culture. You will ascend to 16,000 feet so be prepared. I highly recommend this trip.

This experience was super AMAZING! Run don’t walk to Jorge and this experience. From start to finish it was beautiful. Getting to ride chagras horses and then hike up Cotopaxi was unforgettable. I will say just make sure you have the proper hiking shoes because sneakers will NOT work. Get the cocha leaves/candy and dress super warm (windproof/waterproof/inner layer jacket). Then just know it’s ok to take breaks. It’s all about learning how to breath properly and taking in air through your nose and out your mouth goes a long way even though if seems like “duhh everyone knows that.” It might take you awhile to get all the way up but it is so worth it. On the way down I was having trouble walking without slipping and Jorge locked arms with me and helped me down. The ultimate tour guide/gentleman anyone could ask for.

We had a fantastic guide. The guide and staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. I feel like I learned so much about the country and what it means to live there. The horses were fantastic and unbelievably fit. The riding was great with lots of canters and gallops along the way. The landscape was beautiful! What stood out the most for us though was the cultural experience. Following horseback riding was hiking Cotopaxi. The slope was steep, but our guide was with us throughout the journey. It was just as amazing and perfectly organized. Everything was above and beyond our expectations and it was such a great and effortless experience.

Jorge and Dario were great they were very friendly from beginning to end. My family and I had a great experience.

The horseback riding is through really amazing scenery and with great views of the volcanoes. Very picturesque and a great experience. The hike up the volcano was similarly amazing. It’s a bit difficult if you’re not altitude adjusted but Jorge is a great guide and will be there to encourage you and help you along. I really recommend the tour. Jorge was very accommodating and an overall nice person. Just go, you will have a good time!

Jorge was the best guide ever. We did this experience with our two children aged 11 and 14 on our 4month South American trip and it was one of our favourite tours. The horses were really well taken care of and it felt amazing riding in the park. Got the best family shot ever. The hike was challenging but Jorge was such a great motivator and was really patient with us. Highly recommend Jorge as a tour guide.

This was the most magical, transformative experience ever. If you do only one day trip from Quito, this is IT. And there is no one better to offer you this experience than Jorge. He is the most knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and kind guide to accompany you to Cotopaxi Volcano. Every portion of the day - the horseback riding, the hike to the base camp, the lagoon - was spectacular. The hike to base camp was certainly challenging but absolutely doable if you are reasonably fit. We are a fit 55 and 62 so let that put you at ease. And even if the hike to base camp doesn’t feel within your grasp, the hike around the lagoon is also wonderful. This tour allowed us to access the very heart of what Ecuador offers the world. Do not miss this opportunity!

A great day trip from Quito - my guide, Jorge was very friendly and informative. Before the trip, he contacted me to confirm details of the trip (eg hotel pick up and drop off) and an ‘essentials’ packing list. The drive to Cotopaxi National Park was very scenic, and Jorge was very knowledgable of the surrounding area. When we arrived, I completed the horse riding for one hour - the views of the surrounding volcanoes were beautiful. After, we hiked up to Cotopaxi volcano base camp, where the views were even more memorable. There was also a cup of Coca Tea waiting at the top. Jorge was great at allowing me to set my own pace and explaining the formation of the surrounding landscape. I learnt on the trip that Jorge runs his local tour company with a family member - because of this, the tour felt a very personal experience. After the tour, Jorge was able to recommend further places to see in and surrounding Quito, and was great at organising personalised day trips to suit the limited time I had in Quito. I would really recommend this tour, Jorge was an excellent guide and the views were amazing :) thanks!

We did horse riding and then the climb up to cotapaxi base camp and it was a fantastic experience! Jorge was a fantastic guide, making sure we were acclimated correctly and the horse riding is from a community project and so you could tell the horses were well taken care of and happy, being free outside of the one hour ride to roam freely with other wild horses.

Jorge was an absolutely fantastic guide, super knowledgeable, friendly, and even helped me practice my Spanish! The trip itself was breathtaking, unbelievable views and a peaceful horse ride as well. Make sure to do the harder hike it’s worth it!. Given the remoteness of the park, a guide is the way to go and Jorge is a pro. 10/10!!

This tour was incredible! Jorge picked us up from our airbnb in the Centro Historico in his very clean truck. We stopped on the way for some breakfast and to grab our lunch for later. We continued to Cotopaxi and entered from the north which allowed us to see a side of the park which isn’t as crowded. We had the best time riding horses in the park, we felt like we had the entire park to ourselves! The views were stunning. After horseback riding we had the opportunity to drive to the middle of the volcano and then hike to base camp. Don’t worry if that’s too strenuous for you, there’s also the option to walk around a nearby lake with the most amazing views of the volcano! The lake had wild horses and lots of birds to see - breathtaking! After that, we drove back to Quito and Jorge dropped us back off at our place. 10/10 would recommend this tour! Jorge is an incredible guide and you must go o Cotopaxi if you’re in Quito!
