We had an amazing day visiting some beautiful locations around the island of Oahu taking photos with Kurt. Our family plus one other nice person joining us, got to see a very colorful sunrise and got some cool pictures of the ocean and great locations on the island! Our guide was awesome and very accommodating to each of our needs. Ate some super great poke’ bowls, tasted our first Portuguese donut called malasadas, from Leonard’s . The coconut (haupia) custard filled one was really good. It was yummy. Had fun even watching the chickens roaming around everywhere….free roaming…like feral cats!!! We did get to see some turtles, a coffee farm, had some very sweet fruit from the local fruit stand venders, got to see a Japanese temple, Byodo-In and rang a gigantic bell by hitting it with a big stick attached to a rope. Huge koi fish in the pond loved the fish food Kurt bought for us to feed them. Loved looking at the Hawaiian prints sold by the artist there. She was very personable. Appreciated the quiet, not rushed and very impressive care from our amazing photographer tour guide. We get so much more from a small group tour, almost private. Since our guide is an actual photographer by profession, he took some great shots with us and shared them with us. These pictures were so awesome and made great memories of our Hawaiian trip.

Tour was amazing! Definitely set the mood for the rest of our week. Kurt was fantastic, fun and accommodating. He is very knowledgeable about the island and is great in the art of photography. He took us to so many beautiful areas in the island some of which are off the beaten path, took us to a local cafe for breakfast and then treated us to some delicious malasadas. He took fabulous photos during the trip and shared them with us and was constantly showing us and giving us tips on how to take better photos. We were exhausted at the end of the day but were in high spirit! Will definitely recommend!

Kurt was our guide and it was beyond amazing! The sunrise was spectacular. Kurt offer photo suggestions of where and how to frame and shoot no matter if you had an expensive camera or a cellphone. He took pictures with his phone to show what could be accomplished and how to make that happen. He gave history of the area, stopped us at locally owned places to eat, get fruit and coffee. I cannot speak highly enough of our tour, it was the best! I've even told locals about it and several have said they want to look them up and take it too. Even my husband, who was not the best at taking pictures, is now looking at backgrounds, textures, lighting and really excited about finding stuff to shoot and get the different angle or perception to make it unique. Thanks Kurt!

Best overall day on Oahu! We did the sunrise to sunset tour with our guide ANDREW. All the best photo spots, beaches, overlooks, more! Great food too! Coffee farm, shaved ice. Ours was a private tour, and Andrew picked up on our interests quickly and really customized the day for us. We saw it ALL, plus, super fun! 13 hour.... felt like2! Sunrise and sunset (on cliff) both very special moments we'll never forget. Andrew gave us photography tips, histories of where we were and stories of what we were seeing. He took photos himself too which he then air dropped to us at the end of our tour. Finally, good photos with all of us, not just selfies. We really felt like we could leave Oahu now feeling like we didn't miss out on anything major. NO REGRETS! FANTASTIC!

Great way to tour the Oahu island’s best scenic spots and experience and capture fun memories through photos: + best part is seeing the sunrise + good size number (max 7) for a comfortable ride (not too many with you on tour) + full day with flexible and relaxing stops (no rush and time to eat and take bathroom breaks ) + Kurt was a great guide and driver (Hans-on, gave a lot of advice and he was very helpful to show the best spots with creative tips, he made sure the tour was enjoyable for everyone) + My wife & adult children enjoyed the whole tour - pricey, but worth it - very early start 6AM, worth to see the sunrise - van was spacious for 7 but would be need better air-conditioning

We had an amazing ten hours with our guide, Kurt. Pro tip: make sure the office has a current cell number for you. We arrived early, he arrived early, and we spent almost a half hour staring each other across the parking lot. Don't make our mistake. Anyhow, once we connected the day was amazing. Kurt quickly became attuned to our wants and needs, and as a result was able to tinker with customization of the tour. Which is to say, because it was a private tour we weren't impeded by other tourists wanting to speed up or slow down or having different notions of where to stop for lunch. We weren't shy explaining to him what our goals were, and were richly rewarded. My wife is a photographer; I am not, so we quickly made it clear that the most important part was putting her in position to get the best angle while making me as comfortable as possible and still getting me to see most of the sights. I should add that my mobility is severely impaired, but I refused to limit the rest of the tour too much. Still, Kurt was willing and able to adjust our schedule so that some sights we saw from the van, while others he and my wife got me as close as they could and then went to shoot themselves. Again, let me emphasize that this wouldn't even be possible with a public tour. Another example: when lunchtime came we were just outside Haleiwa and by this time Kurt had learned that we were vegetarian so he suggested the Beet Box Café. He said he hadn't been there is a year and a half, so clearly we wouldn't have even heard of them on a group tour, but as it was I was able to acquaint myself with an incredible tortilla soup (after ascertaining that it didn't use chicken stock). Whether there, or at the farm stands, Kurt was able to make knowledgeable recommendations. The final example I'll make is the Temple. If you've been to the Temple, you'll know that there is an area in front where you can fully view the temple across the pond or it is possible to take a path around the pond and walk through the Temple. Well, suffice it to say it was slow and arduous, but I went around the pond and, while I couldn't go into the temple (surgical shoe), the docent was incredibly nice to me (an experience hat was repeated throughout the day, and by people who had no way of knowing that we were on an OPT tour) and not only explained how I could view the whole thing without defiling the Temple, but also moved a bench so I could rest and catch my breath. Of course it will come as no surprise from the above that we spent at least two times as long as a group tour would have there, and probably closer to three. We even took time to visit the gift shop, which somehow didn't open until we had actually gotten to it and were resting outside. Kurt explained the traditions behind the fortunes, so I bought one and it was Extremely Lucky, which he said was very rare. But we were never rushed to get along with the tour and, in fact, Kurt even offered to get some bird/fish food for us just before we left, though I'm sure he'd figured out by then that we weren't "that kind" of tour. In conclusion, by all means take an OPT tour as many others have suggested here, but by all means trim your expenses elsewhere and splurge here on a private tour. The added intimacy is well worth it. We took the ten hour sunrise tour, but I wouldn't hesitate to take any of their other tours. Well worth the time and money.

This was such an amazing experience. Our guide made this tour so much fun as we explored all the beautiful places around Ohana. It was the perfect way to see the island. Great photo opportunities plus our guide shared his pictures with us as well. My husband and I were very glad that we did this tour. You will not be disappointed.

We spent a casual, fun, upbeat and informative day with Kurt. We started the day viewing a reverse green flash sunrise. Our small sized group beat the big buses and crowds everywhere and viewed a different aspect of the island along the way, learning how to do it with a photographers eye. HIs insider knowledge also afforded us a rare viewing of "Sadie" a Hawaiian Monk Seal. Highly Recommended!

Starting the day watching the sunrise was a great start to this tour. Our guide Kurt was funny, patient and full of tips both for photography and Oahu in general. What could be better than seeing all the highlights of Oahu and getting tips on taking great photos while you are there? The perfect tour for solo travellers as you get the chance to have Kurt or someone else on tour snap pics of you. Highly recommend even if you are not into photography.

This was the most comprehensive tour we’ve taken. We were the only people on this tour. Our tour guide Mac was fantastic. He took us all over the island and shared the rich history and beauty. I highly recommend this tour!!

The whole tour was well-paced. Kurt, our tour guide, gave us lots of great tips on photographing the many beautiful sights we visited during the tour. The small group was also a plus; there were only 7 of us! My teenagers (13 and 15) were never bored. I would whole-heartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oahu and wanting to see the island beyond Waikiki! Bonus, our tour guide gave us access to all the photos he took during the tour.
