Amazing experience making chocolate!! It felt very family-friendly, and our young son had a wonderful time participating in this experience. Totally recommended!

A very tasty and hands on experience that the whole family enjoyed. Jorge took good care of us and introduced us to art of making chocolate focusing on the delicious tasting at the end with home made chocolate and fresh fruit and berries. Highly recommended experience at Jorge’s home.

Met Jorge and his family in 2022. He tailored the experience for me which was fascinating. He buys the chocolate beans from a tribe in the Amazon so helps them too. My favourite was passion fruit dribbled with the chocolate. I would highly recommend the experience.

It was a fantastic experience overall! We were quite a large group (27) and they worked with creating stations so we each were able to participate in each step of the process. The fresh fruit with our final chocolate product was delectable!

This was such a wonderful experience! Upon arrival, Jorge met us at the gate and escorted us in. Jorge and his beautiful family welcomed us into their home. After a brief explanation, we toasted the seeds. While the seeds cooled, Jorge made us a local drink (alcohol optional). Then we peeled and ground the seeds. Finally added some condensed milk and sugar under light heat. Then we got to try our delicious chocolate on different fruits. This was an experience we will always remember!

Jorge was fantastic. The minute we booked this activity he contacted me via WhatsApp to confirm everything. He made sure we knew exactly how to get to his place for the activity. We got stuck in traffic, but Jorge was very accommodating. He walked us through all of the steps needed to make the chocolate from the coco beans and also served us an excellent drink at the start. We did all of the steps....and when we left we felt we could do this at home. He also provided us with a number of fruit options for dipping into the chocolate. Finally, Jorge gave us a tremendous restaurant recommendation for us to eat at after our chocolate making experience. The whole experience was well worth it!! I would give him 6 stars....but 5 is the max!

This was a surprisingly delightful experience. I highly recommend this activity. It was quite enlightening on things you never knew about cocoa.

The whole experience was WAY beyond my expectations. Jorge is a welcoming host and we had "hands on" every step of the chocolate making way. He even gave us a lovely local drink to start off the event. The only downside was now that I know how easy it is to make home-made dark chocolate, I fear for my waistline :). I definitely recommend this event for adults and kids (minus the drink).

Jorge was a great host. the demonstration was in his own home. he gave me the history of making chocolate and then we actually made chocolate. we taste it with various other ingredients like different fruits, spices and liquor. highly recommend this class

Good experience, Jorge was very attentive. He not only explained how to do a chocolate but also told history of cocoa and prepared a traditional Ecuadorian cocktail.

Jorge and his family made me very welcome in their home. It was fascinating to see the chocolate beans turn into a runny chocolate which tasted delicious on the fruit. My favourite was the chocolate with passion fruit. This experience now supplements Jorge’s job as a guide to help him recover from losing his job during the pandemic. It also helps the indigenous Indians of the Amazon who sell their leftover beans to Jorge. It’s a personal experience and would recommend anyone to try it.

Jorge is such a kind and educational host and we had the best time enjoying this experience! Getting to understand the heart of chocolate making and how to mix different levels of cacao and various flavors was interesting. I learned so much and had fun with this hands on experience! This was exactly the experience I wanted to have while in Quito! The host was incredibly responsible and safe in spite of COVID precautions at the time, but we still had a delicious time cooking chocolate in his lovely home. The process was also super easy and you get to taste your work as you go! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a relaxed lesson with a great host. Thank you!

This class was fantastic. Monika really knew a lot about Ecuador’s chocolate history. We were able to see raw cacao, roast it, grind it, and then make three types of chocolate. We ate chocolate fondue, traditional Ecuadorian hot chocolate, and a chocolate cocktail. I had a great time in this class and highly recommend it.
