We cannot thank our tour co-ordinator Nilushki and our tour guide Dewa enough for our fantastic holiday. There was such attention to detail around our trip – ranging from a greeting with flowers at the airport, to snacks to keep us going at the safaris – and care shown by both during our time there. I was sick for a day or so during the trip and both Nilushki and Dewa demonstrated genuine concern for my well-being. Planning the tour with Nilushki couldn’t have been easier. We used one of their standard tours as a starting point and adjusted according to our interests and the extra time we had available. Nilushki suggested places and activities that we might enjoy - all of them spot on - as well as accommodation, which was outstanding too. She was incredibly flexible and nothing was a problem during the whole process. She even took it to the next level, ensuring our itinerary coincided with annual festivals that we didn't know about. This was particularly so for the annual Buddhist parade in Kandy. And our guide and driver Dewa. What can I say? Dewa really made our trip so special for us. He organised all the tickets / passes / accesses for all of our activities, as well as liaising with our accommodation to ensure we were settled in and comfortable. It meant we didn’t have to worry about any of those small but annoying things that otherwise take up time and stress during a holiday. He was our guide on the vast majority of the activities, he cheerily answered any and all questions we had about Sri Lanka (including some awkward ones 😊) and he seemed to know nearly everyone in the country! Everywhere we went he knew people and they were all happy to see him. I take that as a good sign of his genuineness and care. He was happy to oblige any requests we had, was always on time (even early), incredibly friendly and open and enthusiastic about the day’s activities. He was there when we needed him but also gave us the space to enjoy our holiday just the two of us. As he realised our interests whilst travelling with us, he suggested and added in other activities he thought we would like. They were spot on too. Honestly, the perfect guide and companion for our trip. I could not speak more highly of him. Whilst I had wanted to utilise a local travel agent for our trip to Sri Lanka – in no small part because I wanted to give my business to a smaller local company, rather than a multinational travel agency – I was concerned about the quality of the service we would receive. Journeyscapes, Nilushki and Dewa completely transformed my concerns by providing such an excellent trip. I cannot recommend more highly.

I booked a private 14 day tour with car and guide with Nilukshi. This was my honeymoon and when researching companies to assist with out trip, I wanted the local touch. Journey Escapes came up as an option via Travel Local. Nilukshi was absolutely phenomenal to work with. She offered many options based on price, luxury, adventure etc and was available night and day to respond to questions or concerns. Our driver/guide Palitha became like our own family. He was incredibly nice and made ys so comfortable with his constant smile. The hotels booked and range of adventures provided were so unique that each day felt like a mini trip! Sri Lanka is a stunning and diverse island and an absolute must do! I highly recommend booking with Jourbey Escapes and letting them plan your trip here! For a truly unique but luxury experience- try to include Wild Coast in Yala and Ceylon on your tour!

I had the opportunity to discover Sri Lanka in August. I booked my tour through the country with Journey Scales travel. The guide/driver was good, nice and show us many spots. He drove perfectly between the different cities. We discover Sigiriya, Ella and the South to enjoy a Safari. The Safari was great as well and booked with the same travel company. I duly recommend this agency, they are very professional !

We had the most amazing 14 days touring Sri Lanka with Dewa - our personal tour driver and now our good friend. Dewa could not have done anything more to make our trip more informative, easy, safe and feel good. We shared many unique experiences due to his extremely personable and giving nature, lots of laughs and fun along the way whilst we immersed ourselves in Sri Lanka’s rich history and culture. We are regular overseas travellers but have never experienced the level of care and standard of quality that Dewa delivered throughout our magnificent stay in Sri Lanka.

Life-time-memories on our 14 day round tour (Negombo-Dambulla-Sigirya-Trincomalee-Galoya-Ella-Nuwara Eliya-Colombo) guided by thé best ever, legendary Dewa. He made us and particulary the kids feel so safe, comfortable and relaxed. Knowledge, jokes, dedication and aura made it a VIP-treatment for us. We didn’t have to think about anything, except ‘enjoying’ the local culture, real Sri Lanka life in all its variety and glory! The organisation by Journeyscapes was superb!

I was on a tour from Australia of which Journeyscape delivered the on ground tour. Janaka was our guide and from the time he picked me up from the airport to returning me after 20 days of touring I was looked after. The group was small so he was great at personalising it and making the experience memorable. I highly recommend Janaka and Journeyscape to provide your Sri Lankan experience.

We have seen the beautiful sceneries all over Sri Lanka and experienced most of the exciting things it has to offer. It was perfect, and we would encourage everyone else to go here. We have been driven around and guided by JourneyScapes with the driver Deva De Silva, who is an amazing man and fantastic person. Everyone who has Deva as their driver/guide is lucky! If so, he will make your trip to Sri Lanka even better than imaginable, as he did with our trip. He has been flexible and kind all the time, and there has been no issues at all. Thank you for everything!

Just finishing an extraordinary tour of Sri Lanka- 14 or 15 day Sri Lanka Discovery tour with 5 star beach break. It was booked via Webjet Exclusive and organised by a local Sri Lankan company, JourneyScapes. I have never been on a tour that is so well paced, luxurious and amazing value. Value- we stayed in wonderful 4-5 star hotels and had high quality food for breakfast and dinner (except 1 night)-all included and were mainly huge buffets. Every night! The entrance charges were all included, some of which were over US $25. Some lunches were included but mainly we paid about AUD$10 per lunch. Airfares are included, which cost about $1000 return. So I estimate the cost per person per night is around $140. That includes the transport and guide. I priced many of the hotels and there is no way we could do this trip ourself for the price. Itinerary- we saw all the highlights including Sigiriya rock, Kandy, the tea country highlands and Galle. Plus we did two safaris in jeeps, went on a wonderful train ride and spent two full days in a very nice beach resort. What made a huge difference was spending 3 nights at the same hotel in Sigiriya and Anungalla. Every other hotel we spent 2 nights (except in Hill country). This is rare on tours. We also often were back at the hotel by 3 and swam most days in some lovely pools. Only suggested change to the itinerary would be to spend one night in Galle and leave early to spend 2 instead of 3 nights at Ahungalla (still 2 full days there). Guide- we were very lucky to have Ranjith as our guide (Mr Ranjith Ratnayake). He was exceptional- passionate about his country, very knowledgeable and highly professional. He both kept the tour on track, while also enjoyable. He was extremely considerate to us. I had the Lonely Planet and was pleased that he always covered the key sites and more. His explanation brought to life the history, culture, economy and way of life. He made sure we saw the way local people engaged with their temples and work. He was ably assisted by the very safe driving of Mr Sumith and the assistant guide Prasanna. There were only 20 on the tour. Transport- we flew direct from Melbourne to Colombo on Sri Lankan Airlines. They were fine. We had an option to go via Singapore with Singapore Airlines but chose to fly direct. The bus was very comfortable and include WiFi and a place to charge your phone! Food- the food was a real highlight. Ridiculous amounts of high quality. Everywhere there were excellent alternatives to curry. Sri Lanka- it is a wonderful country with warm people. We always felt safe and comfortable. The variety in a short holiday is impressive- from Buddhist cultural sites, to tea country, lovely mountains, elephants in the wild and impressive beaches (even by Australian standards, although the water temperature is much better in Sri Lanka). We travelled as a family of four (with older kids). We would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

We have just come back from a fabulous 15 day tour of Sri Lanka with TravelScapes, the local company used by Webjet. Many people had pulled out, due to concern about the recent troubles, which was such a pity. People who rely on tourism are really struggling. We felt perfectly safe the whole time, and the extra security was a reassurance. The itinerary was varied and interesting, including safaris in 2 National parks, where we saw many wild animals, including over a hundred elephants, and a leopard which walked in front of our jeep, for at least 10 minutes. We visited temples, a tea plantation and climbed to the top of Lions Rock at Sigiriya! Hotels were of a high standard, especially the beautiful colonial Mount Lavinia and Heritance Ahungalla, where we enjoyed a relaxing beach stay. We had delicious included breakfasts and dinners every day. Our guide/ driver, Weji, was very knowledgeable, and took excellent care if us during our tour. He kept us very entertained with his anecdotes and stories! He also organised excellent guides for Minneriya, Yala and Sigiriya Rock. A trip to remember!

We've just returned from a 2 week trip to Sri Lanka, organised by JourneyScapes. Samadi put the itinerary together for us so that it included everything we wanted to see, and paid attention to what we were looking for in the way of things like accommodation (we prefer places with personality). Our driver, Mr Milton, was fantastic. He speaks excellent English and is a very confident driver. He was also happy to not take us to places like shops. The accommodation was excellent, and everything worked out fine. It was never going to be an inexpensive trip (I've noticed people on the forums saying how much cheaper you can 'do' Sri Lanka by yourself), but we didn't want that kind of trip. If we'd planned this same holiday ourselves, it would have been considerably more expensive than it was when booked by a local agent, and in that way was very good value for us. I'd happily use JourneyScapes again, and have no problem recommending them as a good inbound agent.

We had a wonderfull week in Sri Lanka wit our Guide Wije from journeyscapes. We visited the south of Sri Lanka (Kandy, tea plantation, Yala national park, Gale, ...). The tour was perfectly organized with very good Hotels and many different experiences. Our driver Wije speaks a very good english, explained a lot of things about Sri Lanka but gave us also enough private time - it was a wounderful time with Wije. He gave us many good tips, organized the best jeep driver in Yala national park and made our trirp very comfortable. Thanks for this week!

We had a wonderfully enjoyable holiday in Sri Lanka with a deal from Webjet Exclusives. The 8 night /9 day tour took in mostly the inland areas of the island. We visited historical sites, including climb up to Sigirya Rock, tea plantations, national parks (Elephant Safari), etc. Our local agent, Journey Scapes provided our Guide, Janaka, a comfortable minibus and a relaxed itinerary to enjoy the different locations. We had time to sit back at our exceptional 4 star hotels and sip on a cocktail. Janaka was so knowledgeable about his island, cultural sites and local wildlife and flora. Friendly and relaxed, nothing was a bother if we wanted to go or see something different. We would definitely ask for Janaka again. I would highly recommend a trip to Sri Lanka, you'll have a memorable time.
