We had a great time on our food tour! John was a wonderful guide who kept us entertained. We enjoyed talking to him and the other members of our tour group. We also enjoyed the authentic Portuguese cuisine we ate and learned about. Would highly recommend this tour.

The tour was over before we knew it. Good food and a lot of information about the region and the restaurants where we stayed. Sophia's accompanying stories about the region and the meals completed it all. Excellently arranged and executed. Small tip for the organization! Make sure that the food guides receive a printout of the participants' dietary requirements or allergies.

Joao was our guide for this tour, starting at Lagos market. From the start he was entertaining, made everyone feel welcome and was knowledgeable about the food and history of the area. His little jokes throughout kept us all entertained! The market was really interesting and gave us an opportunity to learn about the local foods and ingredients. We had a nice selection of food stops, all locally owned and a good variety of foods. We had drinks at each stop also, with nonalcoholic options.

Our guide Sofia was wonderful! We visited 4 small restaurants in old Lagos; sampling authentic fish dishes that were delicious. The fish soup was the best! We also sampled octopus, razor clams, conch & bean soup.. The wine was plentiful also. Dessert was an almond tart and an orange pastry served with a glass of port wine. Great experience and we recommend it! Thanks again Sofia!

We had a great time on the food and wine tour. Joao was entertaining and knowledgeable host. Surprisingly our group of multi nationals got along so well together. The food was delicious and enjoyed the variety of wines. Highly recommend this tour.

Really so SO good. We have done a lot of food tours in our time and this one is really special. Great host, amazing food (and plenty of it), generous portions. Unique and delicious.

It was a really fun evening and our guide Sofia was really lovely and accommodating. We had someone who doesn’t eat fish with us and a lot of it is fish/seafood on the menu being in a seaside town so worth being aware of that - though there were some alternatives provided. The authentic Portuguese restaurants in the back streets of Lagos (2 of the 4) were a real experience. The other two were a little touristy for our preference. Overall a great evening.

My college aged son and I were looking for something to do with rainy weather hitting Lagos. We are not foodies and WOW were we pleasantly surprised with this tour! Our guide Sophia was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, kept us on schedule and was delightful . We experienced foods, restaurants and cultural information I'm sure we wouldn't have experienced on our own.

Both my husband and i really enjoyed our experience with Sophia and the other travelers that signed up for the morning tour (Steve, Jen, Zach and Thomas) !!! Joao was the most informative guide full of humour and wit. Our group connected with each other brilliantly over common interests, food and coincidences . The food wine and establishments visited were all outstanding. Tips to keep in mind- come with an appetite and go easy on the bread. Highly recommend

The tour led by Joao was excellent, a great way to learn about Portuguese seafood and cooking techniques. Lots of tastings and information at the Mercado Municipal to start the tour, we meant at the door by the stairs. Lagos area is noted for figs, honey, almonds and fresh fish. Also has wine from various geographical areas. An interesting group of participants who freely shared food and travel experiences. Tasted items that I would not have done on my own -- razor clams and octopus. The sweet potatoes in the area are delicious. Joao has a good sense of humor and consiencely engaged all the tour participants. Good value and highly recommended.

We were greeted by an amazing guide, Joao...he was humorous, informative and friendly. We would recommend this tour for anyone ...especially at the beginning of their trip! We got a taste of Portugeese food at family run places and learned a lot about the area. At the end of it, we were very full!! Thank you Joao!!

Unfortunately it rained which meant all the outside dining places had to be changed to inside places. No matter.The food was excellent and they offered me other foods when I said no octopus or veal ahead of time. Our guide was great, easy, and funny. We had a great group of new acquaintances and we all got along very well. I got the recipes to two dishes and even bought a few awesome little cooking tools!

We did this food tour our first day in Lisbon and it was a perfect start! It helped us learn the layout of the city, gave some historical context and the food was amazing. Our guide Camilla was excellent and so engaging. We also got to meet some great people. I highly recommend this food tour and from previous experience give the tip of doing it early in the trip to help feel more comfortable with exploring new cities!

Joao was a great guide! Friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We took the tour on the second day in Lagos and wish we had done it the first day. Joao showed us a number of great family-run eateries where the food was incredible. I don't know if I would have visited any of them without this tour, and that would have been a shame. We were two married couples from the States and Joao made it feel like we were hanging out with a friend in Lagos. I would highly recommend this tour! Well worth the price and all four of us left the tour full.
